Blackwall Hitch - Rehoboth
Need to book at 4:15 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
We had a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner. Server was great! All courses were outstanding except for the main course which we both found to be average. But overall had a wonderful dinner and we will be back.
Our waiter John was great. Liked atmosphere. Food was good.
I ordered the "Broiled Trio." My plate must have been left under the heat lamps for a long time as the three shrimp were blacked and quite hard. The crab cake was very crisp and overdone on the outside and tasted only so-so (compared with crab cakes I've eaten elsewhere). The salmon was very overcooked, hard and dry.
My wife ordered "Steak Oscar" and thought it was wonderful. It arrived cooked just the way she ordered it.
The server, Corrine (sp?), was quite good despite the restaurant being packed.
Great time on a special day. Will definitely be returning
Always enjoyable, great service and the food is outstanding.
Food was decent. Overpriced. Waitress was very friendly and helpful.
The atmosphere was romantic with the dim lighting. Server was very attentive and polite. The food was amazing! I had the scallops & shrimp over risotto and my husband had the braised short ribs which were also delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Enjoyed all the food and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall one of the better restaurants in the area.
This is our go to spot in Rehoboth. Food is great and the staff is awesome. A must try if you haven’t done so already.
Was disappointed in my steak. It was basically tasteless. The size of the baked potato was like a Spaulding rubber ball. The shared vegetables were very good but overall for the prices you charge, it wasn’t worth it.
My mother's 80th birthday dinner party grew unexpectedly and the great staff at Blackwall Hitch did a fantastic job of accommodating us. John did a tremendous job of caring for our party, and was attentive and professional. Everyone was thrilled with the quality of their food.
The food and service were outstanding! I had the rockfish special which was extraordinary. The cherry on the top was that on Tuesday nights there is a special, buy 1 get 1 for $5. Amazing deal. I am sure they don't offer it in the summer, but if you are a local, you must try it!
Excellent food choices and quality! Wait staff was friendly and responsive. Reasonable prices for what you get. Had the unlimited shrimp special for Thursdays; what a feast! Love the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
The one factor that would keep me from recommending this Blackwall Hitch restaurant is their tendency to not have menu items available. This time they were out of apple juice, wheat toast ,an egg nog drink special and black tea. Other times they were changing menus and items were not available from either season. I never had this problem at the Annapolis location.
We did the prixe fix menu for NYE. It took them half an hour to take our order. We were immediately told they were sold out of dessert which was very upsetting. They were able to accommodate a great dessert replacement. They were supposed to box up my main entree but I never received my leftovers box.
Would give a 5-star if not for the weak process on handling reservations (we waited 15+ minutes to be seated for our reservation - as did many others despite tables being open). Chondra was our server and fantastic!
We were at the 7:30 seating and ordered from the Four Course price fixe NYE menu - the selection and food was excellent! However, the kitchen was having some major issue...which was ok...cuz we got to sit at out rable for 2.5 hours.
Would rate the food a C-, service a B, and they were out of 2 different types of wine by the glass that were on the menu. Poor management! Will NOT return
Went for New Year’s Eve. Didn’t realize they had a special menu. Very limited food options. The wait staff seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. Waited a good while to be seated; they didn’t take away the main meal plates when they brought dessert. Maybe on regular days the experience is better, but I would have preferred McDonald’s in New Years had I known.
Service was a little slower than the usual and there were several mistakes with the orders.
For starters I had the ahi tuna and it was not very good, low quality grade. It’s best to keep it simple and not over do it. To much toppings. It was tough. F the entire we had the fish special Grouper. The fish could have been a lot better if it was not so over done, which made it rubbery. The shrimp was also over cooked. Yuck, it was like eating a piece of a tire. I would give it another try, but I don’t think it will be any time soon.
We have eaten here many times. This was the worst experience. Had this been our first tine, we would never return.
Not many vegetarian options that didn’t have seafood....
We have been to Blackwall Hitch several times and have not been disappointed. Service and food is always very good
Enjoyed dinner! Slightly disappointed because they were out of Prime Rob Special at 7:30. Would not deter us from returning to Blackwall.
Great dining experience. Our waitress was awesome. Very friendly and very caring. With just the right amount of attention. We highly recommend Blackwall Hitch.
Excellent service and dinner! It is also not over-priced and the portions are generous. Service was also very friendly and excellent.
We had an excellent dinner. Appreciated the portion size and presentation. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.
Waitress was shorter gal with black hair in bun. She was amazing. She memorized our drink and food orders. She worked so hard for our large group of 9. She took great care of us. Hostess told us to wait near our high top table. It needed to be cleared and cleaned. Large heavy-set male bartender did the clearing. He made us feel unwelcome by asking us basically what are you doing here, do you have a res, did you check in with hostess, etc. geez we’re not as stupid as he implied. This was an unusually busy night due to tree lighting event. You can’t possibly staff up for one huge crush but bartender should be nicer. He’s been there for a long time. Seen him many times. I’m surprised he was so alienating.
we decided to try blackwall hitch after bad experiences when they first opened a couple of years ago. the reviews were positive so we decided to try again. The food was just mediocre, and 1 of our guests got a very long hair in their food. The food arrived lukewarm despite being told it was just getting plated. we were there almost 2 1/2 hours. I love the ambiance, but we won’t be back. too bad...
Maybe it was just because it was a holiday weekend and the Christmas tree lighting ceremony was occurring , but had to wait almost an hour WITH a reservation, and once seated, it felt like our server was trying her best to NOT talk to us. We had to stop her from leaving our table because we weren't done ordering things and she kept turning to leave. Clearly there were issues between front of house, service and the kitchen. Our food took forever to come out and was cold, like it had been sitting for quite some time. The place is gorgeous and the menu reads great - execution on food and service, not the greatest.
Made a reservation for 530 for the 630 Christmas Tree Lighting across the street. Had out of town family with
Two children under five. Was seated at 625!! Almost an hour later. Our party of six completely missed the event we came to town for because the earlier reservations were late arrivals “due to traffic” said the hostess. So they are arrive late, eat and go to the event but we miss it because of their tardiness and a poor policy that impacts others. This is an Inexcusable management practice. When we were seated the managers provided comp appetizers and a small discount but the evening was ruined as the kids were cranky and hangry and we missed the event. Then a cold dinner is delivered, an inappropriate comment from waitstaff and the end to a miserable evening. We live locally, have previously enjoyed this restaurant multiple times but won’t return. Who allows this to happen? If you are late for a reservation you loose your spot. You don’t penalize those who were on time. Another family In the same situation left after 45 minutes of waiting. We missed a once a year event that out of town guests came to see along with two disappointed children.
We realized it would be a busy night in downtown Rehoboth so we made a reservation for 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids). When we arrived, they sat the 5 of us at a table that had 9 chairs at it in spite of tje fact that there were smaller tables available that would have worked for us. It was 10 minutes after sitting before we saw a waiter. Once we ordered food it took another 45 minutes to get it. Food was okay but not memorable. Will go back again but not on a busy night
Great menu for whatever you want, apps, sandwiches, salads, soup or a full meal.
We paid for thanksgiving buffet however when we arrive they were out of everything. Not worth the price.
It was thanksgiving dinner and had made reservations thinking it would be nice to take my wife and daughter to dinner and not cook for once. Reservation was for 5 pm and arrived 15 min early just in case... we were not recognized for 15 mins... we were set down and drinks were ordered... at 5 pm the Coca Cola was already gone... should have been our second indication on how the night was going to be. My wife and daughter went up for food and I went for the shucked oysters and peel and eat shrimp... the oysters had no liquor in the shell and were slightly warmer and tasted off and the shrimp had no taste at all... my wife and daughter’s food was cold from the buffet and they were already out of carrots...surprise!!!!! At this time I asked for the manager and received nothing but excuses.... we asked the music to be turned down a little; it was not holiday music but pop/alternative music... a little more aggravation for the evening.. we normally would have spent a couple of hours enjoying the evening but ended up leaving after 50 minutes...VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!!
The waitress was more sympathetic than the manager!!!
This was our first time to dine out for Thanksgiving and we loved it. Food was great with the exception of stuffing which was dry and dull. Service was wonderful. We were seated within minutes of arrival and our server was delightful
the thanksgiving buffet was fair. gravy in liquid thermal so not good very oily could not mix. no cranberry had to ask. turkey dry
dressing salty. desserts fair no whipped cream for p pie.
The food was a bit pricey, but the portions are big! The service was great!
