Crispy Calamari Fritz
Sweet Chili-Garlic BBQ Sauce
Oysters were the star of the meal. Relaxed atmosphere, an enjoyable dinner.
Dirty Hitch was very nice but could have used 3 olives rather than 2. Calamari was rubbery, rockfish and salmon dry. Cheese grits were very good. Portions were good size. Overall, disappointing given the price point. I’d recommend going for drinks and simple appetizers. Shame about the rockfish.
Food and serve were very good. Our server, William, was very attentive. Great spot to people watch as well. Filet with crab was perfectly cooked, hollandaise brought it all together! Rock fish and crab cake were excellent portions, well prepared and great all around. Definitely, go here again.
Great Location, food, service…not 1 complaint about this place!!
We loved it . The Calamari was awesome and the shorn was delicious
Great managerial and server staff. They make it a priority to put customer satisfaction foremost in this establishment. They were very concerned with my dissatisfaction and promptly addressed it with a satisfactory resolution. Food was excellent and ambiance plus the location is upscale and comfortable at the same time.
It was a dinner for my birthday and anniversary
It was mediocre. Nothing terrible, but pricey for what it was. Only issue was that there was a piece of cob in my corn salsa, but other than that it was just okay. Probably wouldn’t go back, but the location was convenient.
Great food and service. Everything is fresh. Highly recommed stopping by to eat
Food was just ok. Nothing great. Feel like I should have got more then 2 scallops for the price of the dish. Salmon and shrimp had no flavor.
The food was either bland or over salted. I just had higher hopes for this place. It was also pricy and they didn’t offer much. Our server was super kind and the service was overall great.
Took the family to celebrate a college graduation. We sat on the patio, 3 adults, 2 kids. The weather was perfect, the tables not too close to one another, and the wait staff was attentive to their outside guests. The food service was fairly quick and every item was delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.
It was off to a rocky start at first but once we had our servers switched our experience was great. I forgot his name, but I would honestly never go back unless I had him as my server.
Anniversary brunch after seeing Nate Bergatze at the Lyric. Blackwall Hitch let us down — it was advertised as having one of the best crab cake Benedict’s in Baltimore, but the eggs where poached hard with a strong vinegar taste, the potatoes were luke warm, and the hollandaise sauce was inconsistent plate to plate. The service was great, the coffee was good, and the Bloody Mary was strong and spicy — because of these things we just accepted the mediocre Benedict, but we won’t be going back and we don’t recommend it.
Celebrating a birthday
The restaurant was busy so we expected delays. We were seated on time. Drink never came. Ordered the trio. Shrimp and salmon were dried out. Sent the food back. At no time did a manager come over to address our concerns. Very disappointed.
The food was outstanding and Anthony our waiter was very polite definitely going back
The food was nasty and over priced! The waiter provided the worst service! Very boring atmosphere.
The food was so delicious and our waitress gave us great recommendations on dishes
Food was delicious. Service was terrible. Seated right on time and after 15 minutes with no server, I flagged down the manager in order to place our order. Food came out rather quickly, which was nice however, we still had no server and had to flag the manager again in order to ask for another round of drinks. No one came to check on us, clear our plates, or even offer up the check. Instead, we had to go to the bartender to request our check. Again, food was delicious and ambiance was great, the service though left a bad taste in our mouths.
Food was not good , my server was great and the place is nice
Awesome service. Great place to have brunch. Chicken and Waffles, and classic eggs benedict were awesome.
For being one of the only brunch spots in Baltimore they really missed the mark. There were about 4 options for people who don’t eat seafood two being side salads and one being a flatbread that they advertised as “Caprese Flatbread” but was actually just bad pizza. My dining mate got the crab cakes Benedict which he was very disappointed in. The fried green tomatoes were great. It took about 20 minutes to get drinks with less than a third of the restaurant full, we got our appetizers before a mimosa and Bloody Mary. Was over $100 for two people. Probably wouldn’t go back.
The hostess and the server provided poor service. Their attitudes were extremely poor and they were not really engaging. Our meal felt rushed and the overall experience was disappointing.
Celebrating a birthday. Everything was amazing
Not sure about the noise level inside because we sat outside. Food was wonderful and service very friendly. Would definitely recommend to any oyster lover.
Our service was excellent. Ambiance was exactly what we were looking for a low key Wednesday night. The first course, mussels, were delicious. Cocktails were excellent. My date’s pork chop was AMAZING. Server talked me out of the scallops into the sea bass which was overall a disappointing dish. It came out as described and the temperature on the fish was good. But it just didn’t stand up to the other dishes we ordered.
Been to smashing grapes in Annapolis same company but this location is AWFUL! Asked for a specific drink was served something else the food was terrible I’m not sure how they are open interested to know why this is acceptable no point in saying anything to the server he didn’t seem to care either way w terrible jokes just a poor performance
Awesome food and service
My dining experience at Blackwell’s exceeded my expectations. Once seated at a table, service was prompt and our server was very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were great for the price. While very busy, the noise level was not overwhelming. The space between tables made me feel very relaxed. This was truly a treat and I am already planning my return visit.
Overall, it is a nice place and has great views from the upper level. Oysters were some of the best we’ve had. However, I felt like it was a bit overpriced and it was a shame that they serve brunch until 3. We wanted more of a lunch option and the brunch menu was a bit limited for us. Service was great but occasionally it took a while to find our server since we were seated in the back near the restrooms. Each couple easily spent over $150.
The food was not good but the ambiance and service was great!
While the service was excellent, I was not impressed with the food. Starting with the crab dip, which was extremely hot and burned the roof of my mouth and my husband’s tongue, tasted more cheesy than crabby. My husband’s scallops meal was delicious, but was not impressed with my shrimp and grits. The roux was more soupy than I expected and the andouille sausage had no flavor. How can andouille sausage not have any flavor? This review is based on my experience and not to discourage anyone.
Overall the food was decent, however; service was HORRIBLE. Our waiter was very sweet but everything took incredibly slow. It took at least 20-30 minutes just to get 1 drink. There would also be 3-4 different people waiting on us so it was very confusing who they actual waiter was at the time. I will say the restaurant wasn’t even crowded at the time. The table next to us were experiencing the same thing and they started complaining about the service. I don’t think we will be back.
Our server DeQuan was courteous, polite, and attentive. The food was tasty. The ambiance was nice.
Blackwall Hitch was the perfect location for a pre-show dinner. Drinks and appetizers were plentiful and delectable. The restrooms were clean and spacious.
My server was absolutely amazing. Made great recommendations, was focused on me and my guest and just made the dining experience “experiential”.
Food was amazing!!!
Also, they are very safety conscious related to CoVid!
Overall, everything was great. Our server was attentive. The restaurant was nice…had a bit if a rustic feel. My food was yummy but my only complaint is one of our dishes was cold. Otherwise, I’d visit again.
Food was great along with the venue itself. Service was good too I would definitely recommend this
