Blackwall Hitch Baltimore
Best BRUNCH I had in a while!!!
Making Reservations for EASTER Brunch
Ebony was the best waitress ever, she was very attentive and sweet.
Happy Hour was great for food, drinks, and the pricing was perfect. The $1 oysters were the best raw oysters I have had in a while.
I have been driving by this restaurant just about everyday after work and from the looks alone I put it on my to do list. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and I was pleased from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. The service was great and the food was delicious. I'm definitely going back again to try other items on the menu.
It was a disappointing lunch experience. It wasn’t clear in OpenTable the menu was limited to brunch only on Sunday from 10-3. We decided to stay anyway. The service was slow and our order for 1 coffee and 1 OJ resumed in coffee and Sprite. They charged for 3 adults instead of asking the age of the child with us, so we had to notify them, then wait while they reran and retuned with the bill.
A mandatory 18% service charge was added to our bill. This was disclosed on the menu but is high for a brunch setting and was especially high for the level of service we received.
Great decor, nice service, excellent seafood! I had the rockfish, which was well-cooked and the rice and corn was delicious! My friend had the trident broiler and it was excellent! The crab cake and grilled shrimp were marvelous! The white chocolate cheesecake was also delicious!
The food was excellent but the service was horrible. We were seated right away but after 10 minutes and no server i needed to ask for one. The server immediately came over and apologized foe the delay. He had a large party he was serving as well.
We put our food and drink orders in. We received the food and drinks appropriately. After dinner was served we never saw the server again. Our glasses and water glasses were empty and i was not going to ask again. We did order dessert. The server provided a piece of cheesecake “on him”. What i really wanted was a glass of water.
This was our first time at the restaurant and i will try them again. Management needs to pay more attention about what goes on in the restaurant instead of horsing around at the hostess station.
Overall Blackwall Hitch was pretty good.
However the Pork & Non Pork was all together in the same pan. This left my son-in-law without any breakfast meat, Carving station did not offer any
non-pork meat as well. The other thing I will give my input on is the Gratuity. Their are not any opinions for gratuity, and it’s a buffet, we had to get up or go up and downstairs to get our food.
The taste of food was very good and the personal of staff were professional and pleasant.
Thank you for listening.
Do not go for Sunday brunch! Server was terrible and drinks were awful!
I absolutely love this restaurant! This was my 4th visit. I am very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. I would highly recommend Blackwall Hitch!!!!
Service was so terrible it ruined the entire experience. Will not be back.
The oysters were really good. Crab cake sandwich was nice as well. The crab dip should have been served with crusty bread instead of chips
My first time at the Balt. location and had a great time for Brunch. The food was fresh and very well made b/c nothing lacked flavor.
Everything was incredible. Service was fast and waiter was very nice
I made a reservation at Blackwall Hitch to celebrate my ten year Wedding anniversary before going to a concert in the area. I made a reservation for 6:15 pm which I expected would give us enough time to enjoy our meal before the 8:00 pm show. We arrived about ten minutes before our reservation. When we went to check in at the hostess’s podium she told us it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. This rubbed me the wrong way because honestly what’s the point of a reservation if you’re not being seated at the time of your reservation? We waited about ten minutes & were seated so luckily the wait wasn’t as long as they originally told us. We were seated at a two top table extremely close to an occupied four top by the window. It felt like we were sitting with strangers. Eh that was not my favorite but also not a deal breaker, I get it. So we sat down & waited about five minutes before our waiter came over to take our drink order. He came over & took our drink order and brought some water to the table. He brought our drinks back about three minutes later at which time he said “you ready?” 😑 It was painfully obvious to me that he didn’t want to be there, which is something I can empathize with, but if you don’t like your job, find a new one. Simple really. So he takes our order. We ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos & the Crab Cake Sandwich along with Crab Dip & Naan chips as our appetizer. The menu was wholly underwhelming honestly. Most of the Entrees were overpriced and based on what I already experienced I felt jaded by the whole experience. I digress though. So we receive our appetizer which was delicious & served in a bowl in the shape of a crab which I liked. Our Entrees came out shortly thereafter. My husband enjoyed his crab cake sandwich as it didn’t have much filler. My Mahi Mahi tacos were ok. Generally the fish was overcooked but it is what it is. It took a while for us to get drink refills most of the evening & to get the check at end. All in all I don’t recommend.
We were not waited on for close to 10 minutes after we were seated at a table. We finally were waited on, and placed our drink order. Several minutes later, someone else came over to ask us for our drink order. We explained that we already placed it with someone else. He explained they work in conjunction with each other and apologized. Fine. But the whole night, it was hit or miss whether someone would come check on us or not Most of the time we spent with empty drink glasses because they stopped checking on us. It was very inconsistent and they seemed confused. My order came wrong. I had asked for no rice, spinach instead. It came with only rice. I had to ask 3 different people for my spinach. I finally got it and found a hair in it. I told a manager, and he swept my plate off the table and rushed off saying “sorry” as he was walking away and that was it. At the end, he took my meal off the check but the whole experience was bizarre. The four of us in our party agreed we would never come back to this restaurant unfortunately being in a great location.
Wonderful experience! The service was friendly and competent. The food was delicious! The chef personally came out to assure us that our food allergies had been attended to. After our dinner, the waiter even brought us a complimentary dessert and champagne for our anniversary! We will absolutely return soon!
The food was really good and the wine was fantastic! If I had any criticism at all it would just be a bit of confusion as to would wait on us. Other than that, it was great!
We went for Sunday brunch. The food choices were great, however the eggs and potatoes were cold..despite this we will return again and hope that all items remain hot on the buffet.
Excellent food and great customer service! I will return.
Music should be in the background for atmosphere. The music was so incredibly loud that we couldn’t have a conversation. Speakers hang from the ceiling directly over many of the tables. Ours was one of them and moving wasn’t an option with a packed house. Not live music or a DJ, just ordinary piped in music. We asked our server if it could be adjusted and it was turned down, only to be turned back up as we got dessert menus. We didn’t get dessert and got out as fast as we could. What’s the point of this? And why turn it back up?
We prefer the Rehoboth location and will return there, but will not be back to this location again.
Valentines Day Date
Food was bad. Atmosphere is MUCH more casual than advertised. Waiter and other staff were very nice but seemed like they had no experience. We had an awful Valentine’s Day dinner here.
We went there for Valentine’s Day. The braised ribs, calamari, and crab cakes were delicious! The ambience was perfect!
Good solid food, little big on the portions.
Blackwall Hitch is very tastefully decorated, and the ambiance of music was great. Our server, unfortunately, was very unfamiliar with the menu and had no idea what we were asking for. We had to point to individual items on the menu. The portions were small for the price, but the selection was great. Steak needed more seasoning. Charcuterie board was great to have, but all of the contents were items I could get at my local grocery store -- we were looking for something a little more exciting. With a few tweaks, this could be an outstanding restaurant.
The food was ok, not worth the cost. Salmon was overcooked and the wings were not completely cooked through!
Theresa was excellent and the venue was phenomenal.
First time and it will not be the last . Great service and seated our party as we arrived. Love it the Sunday Brinch
very good food on a somewhat smaller menu. Great wine and scotch selections
Perfect service - thanks Wolfgang
On a long weekend to visit with my son doing some work in the city. We wanted something close to our hotel, but not a chain restaurant. Blackwall Hitch did the trick. We were treated very well from the moment we entered. Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended some great starters. There was a nice lag period between all of our dishes, so we had a chance to enjoy each course. Our meals were all excellent (shrimp and grits, crab cake sandwich, swore fish special). I would definitely recommend. Nicely casual and comfortable.
Ordered off happy hour menu good prices however food was not all that! Calamari was nothing but a bunch of tentacles. Yuck! The fried green tomatoes were not fully cooked. I ordered the crab dip off the regular appetizer menu and it came out in a crab shaped dish which contained a small amount. It was served with these doughnut tasting disks that did not go with the dip. Then I ordered the chocolate s’more cake for dessert. It was tiny like a tart had some baby marshmallows on top with a scoop of ice cream and crushed graham cracker. The cake was dry there should have been more chocolate syrup on it. I must say the orange crush was spot on. It’s a cute place that had live music but again the food I ordered was sub par. Maybe I’d go back to try the brunch.
I was impressed with the efficient service and courteous waiter. We had three guests and with the exception of the dry bread on the Salmon Club all meals were enjoyed.
Waiter disappeared for long periods of time waited for check for awhile and also waited for the check to be picked up
Excellent - came here for a team dinner and the food was delicious. The waitstaff was very helpful and timed service perfectly. The restaurant has such a cool vibe and the food was delicious! We really enjoyed our visit!
I am a foodie that enjoys good meals, great ambiance and great service. I left this experience not happy, not disappointed, just middle of the road. Everything was just Ok.
I would return to but not for brunch. The brunch menu price is $39.00 but does not include any beverages.
Great experience. The service was awesome, and I highly recommend the crab dip. The other food was great as well. I got the chef special and the crab cake sandwich. They were both great.
Drinks were forgotten and took 30 minutes to come out. Surf and turf entree was laughably small (melon ball size of crab cake and two nuggets of steak, accompanied by a full cutting board filled with fries ... appetizer of a bacon wrapped scallop was informed to me as “it’s just 1, do you still want it?!”
Desserts were equally bad, there was an unannounced substitution that wasn’t even as described ...
