Blackstones Steakhouse - Norwalk Ratings and Reviews
Excellent porterhouse steak for 2. Fried onions are delicious. Wondering why patrons are not presented with a menu when they are seated, but have to wait until after drinks are ordered. Some people don't drink, and want to see the menu when they are seated.
This well-know steakhouse recently opened a new location in Southport, Connecticut. Coincidentally, a friend had dinner in the Southport location the same night as we have dinner with friends in the Norwalk location. We were dining with friends who where leaving on a two-year adventure and we chose this spot because they enjoy a good steak. The steak is superb and the service is great. Having said that, it is not inexpensive. Be prepared to spend more for a good meal here.
Their wine list is very extensive and a little pricey. However, the prices are not obscene as is the case in many other good steakhouse restaurants. We continue to go to this restaurant for special occasions or simply a special meal.
The location is not in a great neighborhood and the restaurant is in a strip mall. Parking is ample in the back of the restaurant. Once inside, the decor is pleasant but a little dark.
I would highly recommend the crab meat cocktail appetizer as well as the rib eye steak.
Great food and service. We were on vacation and brought our children not realizing the dinning area was small. The staff was very impressed with our children and constantly complemented their behavior. It would be a great place for a romantic dinner. There is a back bar area that we would have liked to visit. The steak was cooked exactly how we liked it. Overall, it was a great experience.
Great steak restaurant in Norwalk - a hidden gem for sure. It's like having Peter Luger's in your neighborhood. Love sitting in the bar room in the back - it's quiet and intimate. The staff is all very friendly and professional. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion, or to hang out at the bar watching a sporting event. Will definitely be back!
Visiting Blackstones is like taking a step back in time-to your father's favorite steak house. The dark interior is dimly lit and things, while elegant, feel lightly old-fashioned. Our waiter was rather humorless, but perhaps it was more of a dry sense of humor. Either way, the services was attentive and the food, (except for the has browns) was pretty decent. I must say, for some reason I had high hopes for the hash browns-they certainly disappointed. They tasted like diner hash browns with loads of green pepper. Not at all complimentary to our nice steaks and delicious Brussels sprouts.
We always enjoy coming to Blackstones for dinner. The service is outstanding - the food is consistently excellent - and it is fairly priced. Having a drink at the bar with Percy is always a huge plus! Additionally - parking in the back is plentiful and easy.
This restaurant is top notch and a great place to go for a romantic dinner or special celebration. The service was out of this world and the food was good too. The only fault was that the filet mignon was supposed to be medium-rare and it was medium-well, but did not send it back as it was part of a surf and turf and he wanted all of us to eat together who it was served to..
I've been to Blackstones several times now. The food (especially the meat) has always been expertly prepared. My ribeye was perfect as was the filet mignon with the surf and turf. Crabcakes are also excellent.
My only issue - and I've had similar issues more than once though not as severe - is with the wine list. During this visit, I tried to order 3 different bottles, including 2 from their "recommended" list, and they didn't have any of them in stock. I asked what they had in a Cab for under $100, and he brought out a bottle that was supposed to be 2013, but was instead 2014. Big difference so we didn't take it. So we tried again. We settled for a fairly mediocre bottle at $65 (retail per Vivino app was $30 so not an unreasonable markup). But honestly, this issue may keep me from coming back. I asked and they do not allow outside bottles even with a corkage fee.
If you are looking for an amazing meal, top notch service, great drinks this is your place! The waiters are impeccable, they have an amazing ability to appear at the right time and just as quickly disappear without missing a beat. The steak is mouth watering, the brussels and the mac n cheese...yum and if you have any room left, the desserts are amazing!!
