We are regulars here and are never disappointed. Food and service is exceptional!! Not a single complaint and I am not always easy to please! We love the tomato and mozzarella and bacon to start, the Porterhouse for two, and the creamed spinach, fried onions, and creme brûlée.
We ate outside. Perfect night.great service and food
The filet was excellent . And great size. Service was excellent too.
Just a 10 all around for our party of 8 celebrating my birthday.
Blackstones at Southport, CT. was exceptional. The waitstaff were prompt, caring and offered great
suggestions. The food was excellent.
The services was bad on father's day.
we didn't order any appetizers and we're waiting for our main course over an hour
finally we got our meal the waitress didn't even come by to check how was our food
we had to return my son plate
The experience was perfect from the start. Ambiance at the start was perfect. Quiet upbeat atmosphere. Service was outstanding. The meal was perfect. The apps were assorted and prepared very well. The quality of the steaks and preparation were outstanding. A keeper for sure 5 star
The food and service were excellent! Even with fairly large events occurring, the noise level wasn't too bad. Excellent restaurant!
Outstanding service, food is amazing. This is our top choice for area restaurants and we highly recommend it.
Excellent choice for a college graduation dinner celebration
We are regulars. Nice place to eat. We always enjoy it.
Incredible from the friendly welcome upon arrival to the great service and amazing food. Blackstones is simple just a great restaurant experience!
I had to ask twice for ice in my water. The positioning of our table was such that it was a 'walkway' for the wait staff to serve other patrons; it was a constant flow all around. It felt like no privacy and intrusive. The food, as always, was excellent.
First time guests. Nice space and service was fine if a little chaotic. It was a busy Mother's Day evening so the chaos was understandable. The food was perfectly adequate for the most part but a little underwhelming given the prices. My one complaint: the lobster in the seafood appetizer sampler was not fresh and was utterly tasteless.
Tough day, Mothers Day. Crowded, noisy, slow service with very large tables makes it hard on the kitchen. Food was excellent, but service took over an hour to get our main courses (we ordered no appetizers or drinks so was straight to the food). Management was gracious and comped desserts so all was forgiven
Went for Mother’s Day “brunch”. Place was fully packed and Kitchen and staff were completely unprepared. Diners at neighboring tables told us they had been waiting 1.5-2 hours for food which still had not arrived. Looking around, practically no one was eating in a completely full restaurant. Was like something out of the twilight zone. Lots of tired and hungry faces. Manager had lost control of the situation and appeared to have thrown the towel in. We had a 1pm reservation for brunch and on arrival were told they didn’t have any brunch. No apologies were made and they basically ignored us. We left without ordering after 45 minutes. Sad.
There are four of us that went to BlackStones Grille for Mother’s Day. The original and I saw that caused me to make reservations indicated there was a special Mother’s Day brunch menu. When we arrive that was not the case at all we were offered was the standard steakhouse menu. Service was fine, but the food was average which was surprising As we have eaten I had their sister restaurant in Norwalk with always satisfying results. I ordered the New York strip and it had a very significant run of tough, unpleasant gristle throughout which is very disappointing and unexpected. Nonetheless we had a good time as the company was great , the service more than adequate so the overall experience was not terrible. More than anything else, probably just a reminder that when going to a restaurant on a busy day like Mother’s Day what should have low expectations
We love Blackstone's and have visited all but one of their fine steakhouses here in CT. Unfortunately, their popularity and quality of food and service went out of control on our mothers day brunch reservation. Everyone there was going at a 110% level of effort but, they simply could not handle the demand of guests. Nice problem for a business to have so many guests but a real negative for us to not enjoy a pleasant mothers day brunch. It looked like the kitchen just could not turn out the orders on a timely basis. I cannot remember dining at a fine restaurant that could not keep up. Blackstones' plan properly for the next holidays...and especially for next mothers day. As usual the quality of the food was outstanding and our server was very professional but could not control the delays even with complaining a few times. Three hours later we finished our brunch. Some folks walked out as we learned in the parking lot. Go to Blackstone's. They are usually great!
Mother’s day brunch. First to arrive at 1115am. Ordered at 1145, didn’t get food until almost 2pm. Weren’t even offered brunch menu and had to ask for it. They gave us dinner menus because those are bigger ticket items I’m guessing. It was 113am. Was just a shakedown and poorly managed and service had no reason why eggs and French toast took two hours. Server said “we make everything fresh, so it take time”. Ridiculous.
Mother’s Day brunch - been waiting exactly 2 hours for our simple order.....2 hours. Never again.
What a terrible Mother’s day experience! We arrived at 1130 and ordered immediately and by 1240, the food had not come out. We left hungry and frustrated, deeply disappointed especially as my mother and my wife were so looking forward to an enjoyable celebration.
Horrible service but their food is delicious. My filet was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered a ribeye however the waiter put in his meal as a bone in filet. While he enjoyed his meal it wasn’t what he wanted. The service was ridiculously slow so he was hesitant to complain and request the correct meal because it would take way too long to get. By the time we got our main course we had been there for two hours - not because we were taking our time, the service was that slow. The couple next to us had the same issues, slow service and the both got the wrong meal. I can’t say we would go back which is unfortunate because the food really was delicious.
Loved the ambiance .Service was great and friendly . Food was perfect !
Always a pleasant evening. Less pretentious and much less expensive then comparable steak restaurants. We love it. Peter was our waiter and he is worth the price of dinner alone. Funny man.
Great meal. Great service. Would definitely return!
I have dined there several times. The consistency is phenomenal
Fantastic meal with friends.
Our server, Joseph, was wonderful. Truly one of the best servers I think we ever had anywhere.
The seafood was delicious. It was a perfect birthday evening for my husband.
The atmosphere was ok but noise was a problem. The service was fair but way to fast for a casual dinner that was to be enjoyed. Most of the steaks served were improperly cooked and not of the best quality. Overall, I was very disappointed.
Steak was rare as I requested. Service was excellent. Michael, the bartender was engaging and friendly.
Steaks came out
We waited over 90 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we received our entrees, and when the food arrived, the very expensive porterhouse steak for two that we ordered was undercooked. This was our second time dining at this location and our experience the first time was even worse. We waited over two years to go back and hoped that they had worked out the kinks, but unfortunately they did not. The steaks are high quality and what one would expect from a restaurant charging NYC steakhouse prices, but the preparation, wait time, and overall service were well below NYC quality steakhouses! Don’t waste your money on this restaurant. Take a ride into the city and go to Peter Lugers, Wolfgang’s, or Smith & Wollensky. For the same money, you’ll have a far better meal and overall experience!!!!
I would recommend Blackstones Grille to anyone who is interested in a terrific filet mignon! It is worth the price. The meat was tender, flavorful and a portion size 14 ounces!! The service was terrific and the noise level was low, which encouraged conversation.
I really enjoyed my evening at Blackstone. Give my kudos to Hakem our waiter, and the Chief, that took the time to cook a great meal for us that evening.
Ada & Wilma
Excellent selection of. Beef and fish dishes. Consistently excellent service. Pricey
We gave Blackstone‘s a try when it first opened, and it was underwhelming. We chalked that up to they were finding their footing. We went again last night, and we were disappointed once again. It took probably 25 minutes to get our drinks, the ahi tuna was overcooked, the hashbrowns had absolutely no taste, and for the prices they charge, they could never compete with the likes of a Capital Grille. There are too many other restaurants in Fairfield County that are far superior across the board to waste your time and money here.
Had a wonderful time and staff was great. Always a great meal!
