   Great restaurant with attention to detail. Our server was on point and it was a really great experience! Can’t wait to go back!

   Pre Theatre Grinds, 10 minutes away from Mark Taper. Our server offered his suggestions and we weren’t disappointed. These dishes were selected as Chef’s specialties: Truffle Fettucine and a 1/2 chicken dish. Wish a watermelon margarita which had a bite as he went down. Finished w skillet baked cookie top w vanilla bean ice cream. Phenomenal meal #yumminess

   We absolutely loved our time at Blacksmiths! Our server Matt was fantastic & was very knowledgeable of the menu. We came here on a Thursday night & it was pretty chill but had GREAT hip hop music playing. It had a bit of a vintage vibe that I loved as well. Everything we ordered (appetizer, entree AND dessert) was great!I would definitely recommend the Burrata salad & Catfish & Red MAC. Very cute!

   Service couldn’t be better. Food took a little long to come out, though. Appetizers were amazing. Entrees good. Dessert nice.

   When we arrived at 6pm for our reservation, there was only one other table seated in the entire restaurant. It was a party of 16. They sat us right next to the big loud party! I couldn’t believe it. We had to yell across the table to hear each other talk. What could have been a romantic 30 year anniversary dinner was more like a coffee shop experience. Food was good. Drinks were ok. Dinner was good. But we never were told anything about the menu at all. We even finished our dessert before the server came over and we asked what this little cup of milk and berries was. She said, Oh! You were supposed to pour that over the dessert before you ate it.” Hmmmm....coulda told us that when we ordered. Coulda told us that when you delivered it. Hmmmm... Thank you for the complementary anniversary dessert and glasses of champagne. That was very thoughtful 💕 This restaurant has a ton of potential. Not well run, maybe.

   I was a little disappointed by our experience at Blacksmiths - it wasn’t bad, but for the money I spent and the price of the dishes, I would hope for an elevated experience, which this wasn’t. I left feeling it wasn’t worth the money. Don’t get me wrong - the food was good and the cocktails were great (but $16, be warned!) but all the elements together just don’t add up to the price of the check, in my opinion. The servers were friendly enough, if a little slow, but for those prices, I’d expect them to really care and have a bit more personality, and to really know the menu inside out. There was no cohesion in either the service or the ambience - it’s like the restaurant doesn’t really know what it is or who it’s catering to. It just didn’t feel special, and we went for my boyfriend’s birthday so we were just looking for something more, I guess!

   Sorely disappointed in Blacksmiths. Food was mediocre at best and service was terrible. We ordered starter salads and an entree. Entree arrived BEFORE we even received our salads. We suggested that it must be a mistake (meant for another table) when the entrees arrived seeing as we hadn't yet received our starter salads. They came back and said too bad that's the way it came out and we had to live with it. Server never checked to see if we were liking our food items and we had to ask the hostess to find him to even get our check (he was AWOL). Horrible experience. I don't recommend it and will never go back.
