Great experience. The food is good, the service is great (Anthony was a joy), the darkness is awkward, different, thrilling, and rewarding if you allow it. Overall, we had a great time. My wife was eating with her hands, laughing, and enjoying herself the whole time... so that meant I had a great time as well. Definitely worth the experience. Do something different in Vegas... and enjoy!
Went for my Birthday, The server was nice she asked us if we were there for anything special mentioned it was my Bday and she was like okay let me note that,Not sure why because they didn't do anything. Walking in was the coolest part of the experience. We sat down and waited forever for the first plate and felt like every plate after that took long. But that could be because the food was disgusting, they fed us vegetables and mush.We had asked the server "will we be getting any meat" she could not say because they don't tell u until the end what you are eating. The last plate b4 dessert had chicken but tasted like imitation chicken. Just nasty. My partner had to use the restroom so they had their hands up for the longest b4 are server came. That was crazy because we could hear the other servers in the room but would not say anything. Not sure if only are server was the only one we could speak with it was beyond annoying are server never refilled my drink which was a coke probably the only thing that made me full for the night nor did she check on us. I left out wishing I would have gone somewhere else especially after paying 200 on some nasty food.
Our waiter Z was wonderful! Hilarious and very helpful and made us feel at ease. The FOOD was spectacular WOW! I've been vegan 8 years and very picky about flavors and combination of ingredients, and I am very impressed! The experience was very memorable
It’s a great experience! Loved every minute of it! Staff are caring and fun. Even though I think of it more and an “experience” then a fancy dinner the food is very good! I think everyone should go at-least once we will definitely continue going, I’ve gone 3 times now and have never been disappointed
Our first time here in October was so amazing that we couldn’t WAIT to come back. Unfortunately, THIS time was WAY different. Even though we had reservations for 7:15pm, we weren’t seated until 7:30. The time between courses was VERY extended - so much so that we weren’t finished until close to 9:30! In addition, the wine pairings were OFTEN brought late and were just “Meh.” Right before the last course SOMEONE walked by and TOSSED plastic bags on the table without saying a thing!? When we felt for them, they were wet naps. Weird. The first time we went, the first several courses were finger foods, THIS time they served SOUP as the first course, and SALAD as the fourth course!? It was very strange, not fun, messy, and NOT worth the money AT ALL! We will not be back!
This was such a cool sensory experience! Our server, Collin, was awesome. Interestingly enough, we have a blind child, and while he doesn’t have a context for “pitch black,” this is the closest we will ever get to understanding what it will be like for him to dine—from drink placement to manipulating food with utensils. I think it would have been wonderful regardless, but it was certainly very informative and special for us given this context. Thank you Collin!
The overall experience was very interesting. I enjoyed it however it was very pricey.
One word. AMAZING!! I enjoyed everything from the service to the drinks to the food. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to any and everyone!
The experience was amazing, it teaches you to appreciate your eye sight.
This was our first time dining in the dark. Our server, Kory was funny and created a relaxing environment. The food was delicious and they had a gluten free menu that wasn’t just salad. This experience was unlike any other and we loved it! We’d love to see one open up in the Seattle area.
This entire experience was somewhat terrifying but Amazing at the same time! Our server "Z" was very attentive and made it lots of fun for our party! We wished we could buy a video of our experience afterwards - that would be the only thing I would change! Thanks for a super fun experience - we will def be back!
What a unique dining experience! Colin, our server, did an excellent job.
Absolute best experience!!! I’m going again!! This is a must do!
I took my husband on a surprise date to Blackout having no idea what to expect. At first I was unhappy that we were seated across from each other instead of next to each other since I was really looking forward to the sensuality of touching and cuddling in darkness (my fault for not requesting it). When we expressed our dismay to our super-cool waitress, however, she was able to pull some strings and get us a better table despite the fact that the place was almost completely full. That improved our moods 100% and we had the absolute best time of our lives! The food was beyond exquisite and the whole experience was so enticing and decadent and mysterious, there's truly nothing like it. It was also just plain fun as heck and filled with a lot of laughs--we were cracking up over how many times we brought an empty fork to our mouths or took way too big of a bite, thinking "wow we must look so silly right now!" In conclusion: best date ever, I highly recommend!!! A blast and a half with your significant other or a group of friends. 5/5
This was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
I was nervous at first because I don’t like the dark but our waitress (Brianna) was really patient and walked us through what we would be doing and how we can leave at any point by raising our hands.
It turned out to be oddly thrilling! I couldn’t stop laughing as my husband and I fiddled with our silverware and tried food that we couldn’t see. It was such a unique experience.
The food was very good! Picky eaters might be disappointed since it’s a set menu for everyone but I think it makes sense that they chose to only have plant based foods to appeal to most peoples food restrictions. They also had GF and/or nut free options as well.
I highly recommend this experience!
We celebrated a late Valentines dinner here, and have to say it was a unique experience. Our server Cheyenne was amazing, the food was delicious and we had a wine pairing that complimented the food very well. Thanks again.
Great experience. Our server Collin was great made it a fun evening for us Mx
What a fun experience! I would highly recommend dining here!
Our server was named Rosco and he was phenomenal at walking us through the whole process. He kept the mood light, even though you cannot see a thing you could hear his smile and can tell he truly loves his job.
The food was exquisite, having your sight unavailable while eating a meal allowed all of tour other senses to heighten. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
Finding out at the end what you had just eaten was a fun twist too!
Rocco was a fantastic server! Made for an extra special date night and birthday dinner. We were visiting from out of state and don’t have anything like this experience around our home. Highly recommended for a fun experience.
It was definitely a cool experience, but it lacked a little of the thrill of it all. The price is way too high compared with the food and overall experience. The food seemed haphazard in its delivery and order that it came out. I feel like because it's all in the dark, it lacked the excitement of the experience. Waiters need to be more jovial and interactive so we're not just sitting there in the dark. Improve the food! Flavorless, all tasted the same....needs to knock your socks off for the whole experience! Check in and check out process is a lot of confusion in its flow. Needs to improve!
Great experience. Staff was super!
Just go try it! Super fun! Anthony is a hilarious server!
The experience was great, service was really good and the food was delicious! What a treat for so many senses!
Food is whatever more about the experience i guess, a little over priced in my opinion
This was one of THE worst experiences of life! Disgusted by the hostess who tried to kick us out in the cold because their lobby was waaaaay too crowded (I'm sorry that's not MY fault! Its yours for obviously overbooking!). And the many bodies rubbing against mine while we waited over an hour to get seated (after booking a reservation over a week early). Then when we finally got in people were poking me in the back and brushing against me in the dark....and I had to yell to even hear my company. We couldnt get out of there fast enough....actually wasnt even able to make it through half of the courses. "Special Valentines day" was how they advertised it!! Hahahahaha more like the worst one you could imagine! Thanks for ruining my night....and it was way too damn late to go anywhere else by the time we got the hell out of there. Oh and nothing was comped hahaha we still paid the full meal and drinks!!! I think it was the manager who tried to get us to come back?! Hahahahahaa never! No thanks! I'd rather someone take my right hand!
We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day about 2 months in advance .we showed up 25 mins early and didn’t get seated till 1hour 5 mins after are reservation time .the atmosphere in the lobby was miserable it was jammed pack and I’m sure if the fire marshal was there he would have closed the lobby.people where walking out it was taking so long .they didn’t even offer us water . The food was good I must say that.
Valentine’s Day experience. They were either way overbooked or just running behind. It took an hour after our reservation to get seated. But the food and experience were great and we had a good time. I would recommend it but maybe on a regular night versus a holiday.
My hubby and I had a very cool experience! Our server, Collin was awesome and help us to not make a disaster of our blackout dining experience! We will totally do it again with more friends and family!
I gave this same place 5 stars before. I understand that it was Valentines Day but they were over booked and they rushed us through our dinner. I have been here before and the waiter to time to talk to us and we had time before each plate not this time. Each course was rushed and the waiter was gone. The food is amazing. Do not go on a holiday. There was zero room in the waiting area. We were packed in like sardines.
Dining in the dark was such a fun experience! My boyfriend and I both have dietary restrictions and we appreciated that our fabulous server, Willie, continually reassured us that our dietary restrictions were being honored even if it didn't necessarily seem/taste like it.
The wait staff did a great job at cracking jokes and keeping the whole evening entertaining. Also, the food was delicious. I would definitely go back again!
It was great! We had Anthony as our server and he made us feel at ease and kept it fun! It’s definitely different being in the dark but it was such an awesome experience
Coolest thing ever ! I'm not a plant based eater, but man, almost all of it was delish!
A dining experience that is unlike any other sit-down restaurant. I took my daughter here for daddy daughter date night, my wife made the reservations through Open Table. There is a form to sign off on and to check for any food allergies. You must surrender all devices that may have a light source in the lockers provided (yes, they will provide you with a lock). Once you are through the curtain, total blackness. The staff wear night vision goggles & can see very clearly. We were instructed on the layout of the table, location of the eating utensils & glasses of water.
The food comes out in 7 different courses. Course 1 & 2 were like starter items, light & delicious. The 3rd & 4th courses were side items for the main dish. The 5th course was the main dish & the last 2 were desserts. I do not want to spoil anything, hence the reason it was left vague. The food that was provided was great, the taste of each dish was amazing. The waitress provided instructions for each course, as the description of the plate, or bowl. She gave advice on how to eat it, and provided a new fork or spoon as needed. The darkness provides a lack of prejudgment of the dishes by way of looks. The sense of smell and touch (you can’t see, so um yeah you have to figure out where to put you fork) are the only clues to the dishes. I was quite surprised, as the menu is revealed as you pay.
Couple of things to note, there is not a kid’s menu, if you or your kid is a picky eater, maybe not a good place for you. Claustrophobic: maybe skip this one, you can't see, when I say you can’t see, you can’t see your hand in front of your face. I know it sounds a little cliché, but it's the absolute truth, we were there a little over an hour & total darkness the whole time. People tend to talk louder when they can’t see, understand that the volume of others & maybe even yourself we be a little louder than normal. Last thing this place is not cheap, just average about 100$ per person.
An experience for all.... Loved the sound and feel aspect of the dining. It takes a little adjustment period so relax.
First off everyone needs to know this is a vegan restaurant. I had no clue until we got here. Was very nervous paying this much for vegtables. So happy you have a fantastic chef. The real experience was eating in the dark. Talk about a whole new experience. Our waiter "Z", made the whole experience even better!
Anthony was a great host! Great food and amazing time. Allows you to put that damn phone away and enjoy company.
Amazing. What a wonderful time with good food and great service.
Captain Chris was a phenomenal guide to this sensory deprivation dining experience. He kept the mood light and told a story with each course. The IR lights cast a very dim glow and we kept catching glimpses of people walking by with their night vision goggles, which served to break the focus of total darkness, but the food, service, and friendliness of everyone that we interacted with made it a night to remember!
Captain Chris is the man ! My date got anxiety being in the dark & he took us back out & let us get some air. She got ahold of it and we went back in and had the time of our lives. Very fun, worth every penny. Would definitely go back anytime!
We're kinda foodies. This was fun. Go in open and you should be very happy. I felt like a little kid.
