This was our third time eating at Blackfish. Our first during the covid restrictions. It can be loud if there are loud parties there, like last night. Once they left, the noise level was much lower and relaxing. The servers were great, although they were stretched a bit thin. Let's talk food! Everything was delicious. I had the scallop appetizer and my husband had the Brussels sprouts salad. Delicious.
Then we had the swordfish and the beef shortrib. Mine was great. The celery root puree was so flavorful and creamy mixing so well with all the elements of the dish. The short rib's flavor was great with just a bit of toughness to the meat. Not enough to detract from the enjoyment though.
Dessert was the chocolate cake with a hot center and cinnamon gelato...delicious. For us, a perfect size to share and to end a very enjoyable evening.
Ok, so I have been dining at Blackfish since July/2020. I have been treated with such kindness and professionalism. The servers have a family feel to them. We are now getting that little extra special treatment that frequent diners experience. On the food side....I have worked professionally as a chef in the past. Lets just say that Blackfish is consistent and I have enjoyed the food there more than any other restaurant. The other night I had the Branzino. It tasted fresh out out of the water. It was perfectly prepared and was of outstanding quality. The Delaware Bay Oysters with Meyer Lemon foam with pink peppercorns was off scale! I went to two other very reputable restaurants , one being in Center City just to compare two other Branzino dishes. Well Bravo to Blackfish and the Chef for getting it right. Too bad for the others. I'm headed there for the tasting menu on Thursday. Not waiting til the weekend!!!!

I have been eating at Blackfish for 15 years. The staff greets me by first name and is always superb. The food has been consistently excellent. I love the weeknight tasting specials.
After a year away, my husband and I returned to Blackfish for a terrific Saturday night dinner. We started with the cauliflower bisque and wild mushroom risotto, both perfectly prepared and delicious. For our main course, he had grilled Atlantic salmon and I had the pekin duck breast; both were outstanding and the portions were generous. As always at Blackfish, the service was attentive and friendly. Although we were the last party to leave, we never felt we were being hurried out the door. In sum, one of our best dining experiences of the year. We will be back soon.

The food and service were excellent. We ate at a table outside, to reduce the risk of Covid, so the atmosphere and traffic noise were not top notch, but we selected this option. The scallop special was top notch. Recommended.
COVID changes have melowed the place a little but the food was great!
I thought the service was a little slow but again, it was worth the wait....
did the tasting menu and was surprised at the slow pace. they apologized but overall took almost three hours. food was delicious! and happy that they had outdoor tables
It must be difficult to maintain the simple elegance of a world class restaurant while maintaining good humor, wearing masks and serving gorgeous, delicious food to people sitting at tables on a public sidewalk not meant for outdoor dining. Blackfish somehow manages to pull it off and make us feel safe in the process. The menu's a bit abbreviated to accommodate the current "difficulties" - we miss the Scotch egg and the crudo. But tuna tartare, beautiful salads, mushroom risotto, chicken Milanese, and cioppino are still fabulous. So we'll be fine until normalcy returns. It was great to see the Blackfish "family" doing what they do best - focusing on the experience they provide and the patrons they so clearly care about.

Blackfish is always excellent. The best restaurant on the "main line", in my opinion. This time we were not disappointed. Despite the COVID conditions, we felt safe, taken care of, and the food did not miss a beat. The best snail dish my chef husband has ever had; the best Ciopppino I've ever had. Service was very attentive, and we were outside on the sidewalk. We would have also been comfortable eating inside given the set up. Bravo as always!
Blackfish is amazing. Delicious, great service and ambiance. My favorite date night location. I had the head cheese pate and mushroom risotto. Complex, interesting and absolutely delicious. My husband had the squash soup and grilled tuna. Fresh, deliciousness! We both loved everything. I highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and save room for beignets and coffee. Delish!!!

Blackfish has been in great form the past few months. Typically the dining room is loud, but they’ve done a great job spacing tables out. Service was great, and the food was excellent.
This restaurant is fabulous. The flavors are wonderful. The service is consistently awesome. The menu changes just enough but keeps a few perfect desserts
Food was excellent, as usual. The service was slow in the beginning, but then picked up after the first course was served.
My only gripe is the outdoor dining setting was very noisy because of many cars zooming by on Fayette and cars idling right next to the side walk where we were seated, but this isn’t really in the restaurant’s control.
As it gets colder I’d recommended outdoor heaters, as they don’t have them now.
We previously had an incredible dinner at Blackfish but it was for NYE & pre Covid19 pandemic. This time was just so-so. We didn’t realize it was restaurant week in Conshohocken. We weren’t impressed with the menu. The service was a little off. We weren’t greeted for awhile, and we were offered any coffee with dessert. My husband and I were hoping for an espresso, but decided to pass because services didn’t seem attentive.
We will probably go back for NYE, but we hope it’s a better experience

We came in for the first time during Restaurant Week. The butternut squash bisque was the best I ever had! The presentation of the food was creative and appealing - you could tell the chef took pride in his work, and it tasted as good as it looked. The servers were attentive, professional and friendly. Will definitely return.

I’m so happy that the restaurant was busy. The food was great - corn risotto, tomato with mozzarella, cauliflower soup, chicken with arugula, cioppino. We all enjoyed everything. Now for the downside: we had a reservation via opentable, waited for a half hour for a table. That shouldn’t be when you have a reservation. I guess no one was ready to leave!
Blackfish was fantastic as usual. We missed going there during Covid and it was our first dining out since March!

Food was absolutely delicious! They pick vegetables from their garden - truly farm to table. We loved the gazpacho, salad, and my cioppino was SO GOOD. Highly recommend. The service was also wonderful and wait staff were lovely.
Our Perfectly placed group of 5 situated in the back room of the restaurant provided us with an almost private dining experience. Our meals were spectacular; amazing swordfish & perfect tuna & our service was 1st rate! Safe & secure!! Great night out
As perfect as a dinner out can be during Covid. Would I prefer the usual. more extensive menu ? Yes. Is that viable in Covid? No. What was available was fresh, well prepared and delicious. the restaurant is so clean you could eat off the floors and the server Veronica is, as always, great!
We had Lovely, perfect food and excellent professional service once again... Black Fish remains my favorite restaurant in the Philadelphia area. The dining experience was wonderful. I felt super safe during this crazy Covid time and thrilled to be able to diner here again. (They also have wonderful takeout and family catering option)
