We had the tasting menu and it was wonderful. The service was excellent as well.
We loved it and are looking forward to returning!! Don’t change a thing! Kip is awesome too!
The food was delicious, the service was top notch and a great time was had by all.
Best tasting menu yet: outstanding food and service by Veronica and crew!
Always excellent food and service!! The lobster dinner was most enjoyable. The servers are outstanding and just great people!
Good service always excellent
Attended new years eve event. Service was very accommodating but "stretched." They seemed to have trouble keeping things moving and it took quite a long time. Ambience is certainly not romantic or fancy but this is a great place for good food in a casual environment. As with many restaurants, busy event nights can be challenging.
The very pricey New Year’s Eve prix-fix Menu was nice, not extensive and nothing special. Of the 4 courses, the appetizers were the best, Tuna Tartare and Smoked Salmon atop a fried egg.
The service on the other hand was outstanding! Unfortunately there was no indication on OpenTable that Blackfish was a BYZiB and the local wine shop closed at 4:30.
Great BYOB in Conshy. Great service and innovative dishes.
Great food and attentive service. Can’t go wrong here.
Still great after all these years! The crudo is an ever changing delight, so we both had it. The current version is fabulous - rich fish with a spicy dressing that completes the taste with a little sweet and a little heat. Then we both had the blackfish, a meaty white fish with a nice full flavor that's not at all "fishy". We even had dessert, which we don't do much any more - the "orange sorbet" was a delicate, Mandarin-y ice that we shared (and should have ordered for each of us!). As always, we felt right at home with the friendly, attentive staff - Blackfish is simply a jewel!
Amazing food and a super friendly staff! Check out the tasting menu options!
The tasting menu was excellent
Went for the white truffle dinner. Was an amazing meal
My wife and I went to try the White Truffle theme and were not disappointed. Each of the White Truffle dishes was subtle and tasteful. Sometimes I have had truffle at a restaurant and the taste was so strong that I thought I'd wait years to try it again. This was anything but the case! Although we did not think that Truffle and Flan are a good pairing, the other dishes were exquisite. I had the butter nut squash soup, Snails and the Black fish and loved them all. It is just a wonderful restaurant and our go to place! Worth the trip both those living in the city and the suburbs!!
Great dinner, just thought it was a little overpriced for the portions. They really pack you in there too so be ready to hear everything going on in the table next to you.
Nice ambiance and very good service. I think food has gone a bit downhill. Two of us had the black bass and the vegetables in the dish were delicious, but the fish was underwhelming. A friend liked ( not lived) her scallops, but my husband lived the duck breast. Maybe the food was just a bit off at our last visit. It’s good that it is a byob.
Awesome! Food was outstanding, service was terrific. This place is A*.
Kip and his team are very attentive. Just can’t say enough good things.
The only improvement could be a few more specials to mix it up a little.
If you are looking for first class place to dine look no further.
Plus BYOB is good too.
Excellent from start to finish
Blackfish is a reliably excellent restaurant, to which we return regularly. We've never been disappointed! Staff is friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about food preparation, and accommodating. I have to make myself order something other than their smoked salmon appetizer, which is my absolute favorite dish there. That and the beignets, which are hot, light, and accompanied by raspberry and chocolate sauces!
Second time Visiting blackfish It continues to excel
Wonderful staff serving the very best food in the area.
We had an amazing meal. The service was phenomenal. If you dropped a spoon (hypothetically) your waiter would swoop in and give you a new one instantly. The food was exquisite! The duck is out of this world. Don’t skip out on the crieme brûlée. Am maxing date night but don’t waste this on your buddies or grandma.
Our third time at Blackfish. Each time food was excellent. Service fabulous. Would highly recommend.
Always a delightful experience. The wait staff are in formed and very pleasant. The food is spectacular.
Outstanding dinner! Every course was perfect!
Great seafood and excellent service. The table bread was particularly excellent and the courses came out pretty perfectly paced. I don't do BYO a lot but this was a great experience for that. Very quiet and price is about what you'd expect for the menu. Felt that shared tapas between two rather than an item from each menu a person was better for how filling and rich a lot of the dishes are, but that's the diner's call.
one of my favorite local restaurants- food is always delicious and interesting.
Ate the ahi tuna special. We thought all servings were excellent. The service was first rate as well. Decor is not the strength of Blackfish but it was fine and it was quiet, easy to hold a private conversation.
In town for a wedding weekend we had a Friday night dinner at fantastic Blackfish. Our experience was enhanced bu our great server Kip. He made fantastic recommendations and the risotto was the best I have had to date !! Fresh seafood dishes and moist chicken paillard
Beignets and sorbet for dessert.
We will be back !!
Outstanding. Superb cuisine and service!
We went as a group of 5, hosting an out of town friend. Our table was just at the kitchen door which is why we gave only 4 stars for ambiance. Had we been in the front Room that to would have been a 5 every dish was exactingly prepared, many unique and all delicious. The fresh baked bread brought around frequently was delicious and well received especially because the sauces of each dish were so well prepared it gave that last dipping opportunity. We will go again much sooner then the interval from last time. we would highly recommend blackfish.
Absolutely extraordinary. We have dined at the French Laundry in California and Blackfish is easily in the same category. Kudos to the staff that were attentive, thoughtful, and at times, entertaining. Kip took great care of us and we will put this restaurant on our list as one of our favorite places of all times.
I have wanted to try Blackfish for years. We had a terrible experience, in almost every regard. We were seated right next to the front door, with the legs of waiting diners right next to our faces, and blasts of cold air whenever the door opened. The staff had to push past our table to get to the host's desk. The waiter took 10 minutes to acknowledge us, and while very friendly, was largely unavailable during the meal. We had to repeatedly ask for wine to opened, and plates were not cleared. A dish of risotto was basically a plate of rice, and a fish entree was extremely undercooked (when we sent it back to recook, they nicely replaced the entire dish).
Several other diners complained loudly that they had been rushed out, which we were forced to listen to since we were sitting inches from the host desk. I suspect the restaurant was over-booked, put together at table in what should have been the host area, and didn't have enough staff. Overall, a miserable dinner.
Very limited menu. No beef or chicken entrees. Lobsters that were stuffed with shredded beef were very small, in fact I think they were so small they were illegal and should have been thrown back into the sea.
Great food Great service...bad parking but it's worth dealing with the parking for the food and service.
Delightful, as always. Wonderful food and lovely people in a charming environment. We look forward to returning.
We took our colleague out to dinner becsuse he was leaving for another job.
