Always a great meal at Blackfish. Try the tasting menu - you won't regret it!
Service was attentive and 7 course tasting menu really delivered the goods!
A fantastic dining experience. We will definitely go back and bring friends who will also enjoy the 7 courses of art for the eyes and for the palette. Service was also tremendous.
Always excellent service and food
Limited menu, staff was gracious
The food was delicious. And the chef was first class when instead of just warming up two of the fish entrees that were somewhat undercooked, he made two fresh platters. Pricing was a little steep given the small portions, but overall it was a very fine dining experience
This place is about the food. Minimalist decor - clean, simple, and nice, nothing to distract from the delicious and beautifully presented food. The noise level was distracting due to a large party next to us, which did detract from our experience unfortunately. And on a weeknight, the normally delicious bread had a texture that implied it had been reheated (it’s a highlight when it’s fresh). But it’s still my favorite restaurant in the area, and I will go back again and again…but maybe not on a weeknight.
Great food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed everything.
Fabulous every time
One of my very favorite restaurants. The good is fabulous every single time!
Awesome food- best meal we’ve had on the Main Line this year.
A great spot for foodies!
Food as always was exceptional. Service was excellent. Nothing I can say other than we dined at Blackfish last week. We’ve got another reservation for Blackfish next week. And that should tell you everything!
Dinner was excellent. We’ve been out to eat outdoors post pandemic at several of our favorite restaurants and most have been just mediocre, but Blackfish did a great job.
We sat outside, and Fayette St has some noisy trucks but we were happy to be with friends, great food and a chilled bottle of Chardonnay.
We had the seven course fix priced meal and it was outstanding!
The food was spectacular. We had the fisherman stew and every element was cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent.
The place is not fancy but the food and service are excellent.
Our tasting menu dining experience was excellent. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Got the 5 course Tasting Menu. Food is decent, First 2 courses is really good. Main Course and Desert is good still but not as good as the appetizers.
The service at Blackfish was impeccable and the food was excellent.
I have been to Blackfish many, many times over the years and was most excited for them to reopen after closing for COVID. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed last evening. The space was so load it was hard to enjoy our meal. With the new seating outside, they had more tables than they could properly serve. It took 20 minutes to get our wine opened and poured and 15 minutes to order and get bread. The food was also simply not up to the standard we have grown accustomed to. We hope this is just the challenges of a restart. We will try again in a few months.
I have been a customer and can boast friend since this wonderful restaurant opened. As always, the food and staff not only are NEVER disappointing but continue to be top notch. Chef Chip Roman is innovative and creative and keeps making his clients coming back for more.
We had a phenomenal dinner. The service is impeccable. The entire staff works together like a relay team and the entire staff works together to service all tables. What fine dining should be like. Food is seasonal and very good. I had the vegetable platter and it would convince any person to become a vegetarian. I think with Covid we all forgot what fine dining should be like. Blackfish has it down pat. Veronica was our main waitress and she was the best. We were there for our anniversary and they really made us feel special
Very good! Only thing I wish is that we got a little bit more food for our $$ but everything was delicious and fresh abs yummy and our server was excellent. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
My husband and I went to Blackfish for an anniversary dinner. We'd been there many times in the past, however, this was first time since the pandemic. While it was good, I was disappointed that they didn't have my favorite entree on the menu which was the Short Ribs. Most of the menu items were for some type of fish. There were only 1 or 2 entrees that weren't fish and the same was true for the appetizers. I ended up getting the mushroom ravioli which was very good, however I didn't go there expecting to get ravioli which I could've gotten at many restaurants. I'm not sure I'll return as the restaurant doesn't have a good selection for people who aren't fish lovers.
I will say that the dessert I got which was creme brûlée was delicious. Also while we did go early, the room got very noisy and the ambiance wasn't the best.
We particularly enjoy the tasting menus and go often.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Terrific value! Looking forward to a return visit.
Blackfish is the favorite restaurant of my wife and I. It was the last place we ate before the pandemic, and the first place we went after being vaccinated. WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Never had a bad experience there. It’s the only restaurant I can say that about!
Amazing food and service!
Just a fabulous meal! The ravioli appetizer was delicious. My salmon was cooked to perfection and my husbands blackfish was great
Bad ordering experience and service.
My husband and I went for the first time this past Friday night. We reserved a sidewalk table outside. Propane heater worked well to keep us warm on a windy Spring evening in the high 50s. We ordered the five course tasting menu which was delicious. Since Blackfish is BYOB (which we love), my husband and I brought a bottle of white and a bottle of red which gave us options to pair to the tasting menu. Portions were perfectly sized. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We’ll be back.
Absolutely amazing. Great service, delicious food, being restaurant. Will be back!
My meal was very good. My wife's steak was very tough.
Would not return
Always dependable for good food and service. New menu since last time there. Preferred prior menu.
The Lobster Tasting Dinner did not disappoint and was all that we expected and more! Each of the four courses varied from each other. The lobster risotto was my favorite. The biscuit served with the strawberry shortcake was not up to Blackfish standards...very dry...but, the whipped cream was soft and heavenly. The strawberries were lush and sweet. Service is attentive without being intrusive. It's nice to return and be remembered!
We love the chefs tasting menu. It never disappoints
Another great meal! Always interesting cooking, and good service.
