Blackbird - Denver
We have eaten at Blackbird several times. Our food was delicious, service was great, but we were seated next to a table with a man who talked the ENTIRE time, and was very loud. I believe that he had been vaccinated with a phonograph needle!
The setting was super cute. The service was good, and our drinks/food were delicious.
The Blackbird is a wonderful "local pub" for the neighborhood
Salmon was delicious
Food was good and well prepared. No “ wow” factor on taste. Service was excellent!
The food and service at Blackbird are consistently great, making it one of our go-to restaurants. I'm a big fan of the charred caesar salad with salmon while my hubby loves the french dip. Their pizzas are also very good. It should be noted that their gluten free pizza crust is one of the best I've ever tasted! It is springy in texture and has great flavor. Even gluten eaters agree! Plus, it is generous in size--easily enough for two.
Always a great go to place love the wings
Great Neighborhood place. Nice menu and many beers on tap.
Staff was very friendly! The food was great. We got the quinoa bowl, beet salad, and blt. Pretty good beer selection. We even shared some of our cookies with the staff. They made a little sign welcoming us to the table with our name on it from the reservation. Was a nice touch. Personable experience and good food.
Great food, great service. Like that they have parking-we went for breakfast on a Sunday-nice relaxing atmosphere. Would go again
Great place especially off hours when not full. Brunch excellent. Vegetarian eggs Benedict and omelet pizza. Perfect.
We always enjoy Blackbird. I particularly appreciate the raw oysters and they offer grilled oysters. The blistered brussel sprouts are awesome as are the variety of pizzas. The drinks are good, good variety of wine and beer also. Family friendly but great for work also.
Than you Jen. What a great review.
They had a sign for my boyfriend’s birthday on the table when we got there that was really adorable. The service was great!
Thank you for the great review. See you soon
All you can eat wind night was a bust. They give you 6...then its another 30 minutes for 4 more...then another 30...um no thanks. Won't be back.
The food was very tasty & the drinks were a fanatic price. They’ve got a few TVs so if there’s an important game on you’re able to catch it there with a good cocktail!
it is a casual place good hamburger, different beers. a good place for a lunch, not too far from other activities.
This was our first time eating here. The staff was friendly. I had ordered the French Dip and requested no cheese and rare. Unfortunately the sandwich arrived with cheese melted all over it. While the staff was very apologetic when the new sandwich was delivered the meat was over cooked. I did eat it because I did not want to wait for another one. My husband asked for some bread to soak up the sauce from his dish. We had to ask a second time. To top it off, our credit card was not returned to us and we had to go back the next day to get it. It seemed like a really great place but we did not have a great experience.
Overall it was a fun dinner with yummy food. I was catching up with my brother so I wasn’t upset we had slow service because it gave us time to talk. However, there were two people taking care of us and they didn’t seem to be communicating to each other and things felt confusing at times. And everything was soooooo slow. Our meal took over two hours for oysters, pasta, and pizza. Eek.
Friendly, attentive staff. Great drinks. Great food options. Will be back for sure!
Food was good - happy hour had good prices. Beer menu is a little eclectic -- no "normal" beers like Stella or Bud Lights. Know you may appeal to a different crowd than we are.
Main reason for coming with friends was to introduce them to the restaurant and celebrate my birthday. The blackboard with my name on it was clever. However, we all wanted mussels and heard that you've had trouble getting good ones. So we ordered different things and overall were pleased. I asked for the Buffalo sauce on the chicken wrap on the side; don't know if waitress forgot to mention that, but I just knew I wouldn't be able to eat it after the first bite. She kindly replaced it with no sauce, but I really wanted others to go ahead and eat and not wait for me.
We'll still be back.
First time visiting Blackbird. All of the food we had - three pizzas, the salmon entree, and Brussels sprouts app - were very good. The place was fairly quiet. Service was pretty slow, the wait staff mentioned a large party which clearly had them occupied. Otherwise a good experience.
We were excited to try Blackbird on a Monday night with the kids with a 6:15 reservation. We walked into the restaurant, and it definitely felt chaotic from the start. Lots of delivery and takeout bags kept going out in a hurry while we and other groups waited to be seated. When we were seated, the server informed us that the kitchen was overwhelmed and they were understaffed,. It took almost an hour for our food to arrive, and it all arrived together—appetizers, entrees, and we were still missing items. At this point, the kids and we were hungry, so we started eating.
Then the chicken wings happened. My husband took a bite, and told us all to stop eating. The chicken wing was raw inside. We let our server know, and she offered to bring a new order. We declined. At this point, we just wanted to finish and leave.
Meanwhile, the delivery orders and takeout were still flying out of the kitchen while we and other tables waited for service. I also checked OpenTable, and Blackbird was still offering reservations, too. There is an open kitchen, and we could see the kitchen staff was openly and obviously disgruntled as well.
This was just a terrible experience, and while the server removed the wings from our total. When you have that feeling of “I hope we don’t get sick...”, that just doesn’t seem like enough.
I’m not sure we’ve ever had such a disappointing dining experience.
Great nightly specials, great service, and the Blackbird Lager is AMAZING!!
Overall experience was great. Only downside is some our our cocktails weren’t mixed very well. Our Manhattans were a let down but the Dark n Stormy and Whiskey Smash were delicious! The food was outstanding!
Thank you very much for your review and for the feedback. We hope to see you again soon and make those cocktails even better.
We like to try different places with good food. This place is really great and the service was great.
Thank you Lori. Please come back soon
Great place with a unique setting and a wonderful staff. The food was great just 4 as my burger was cooked just a little past the medium rare. Everything else was delicious and cooked and served to perfection.
Thanks David. Love a 5 star review.
Food didn’t arrive at the same time so people were done eating when others were just getting their order. Oysters didn’t come out before the meal and they had forgot about them. Slow service and waitress wasn’t great.
Really sorry to hear about this but thank you for leaving the review. We always use this to get better.
It is great that they take brunch reservations. Their menu is not too exciting. They could upgrade the waffles and add some nice french toast. They could change the vegetarian option from time to time. All in all a nice place.
Thank you Pamela for the feedback. We hope you come back next month. All new menus for all services including brunch are on their way. Hope to see you again.
Consistently good! Service is phenomenal and the ambience is fun. Fantastic neighborhood nook!
Thank you Historynut. Hope to see you again soon
Terrible service. Super slow, then when we FINALLY got our food, one of our group's chicken was so burnt it was inedible. She asked for a different dish instead, and a manager came over to tell us that if she wanted a new dish it would be a while since they were so backed up in the kitchen. She ended up having to eat off of the rest of our plates instead, and then they didn't even take her sent-back meal off the bill!!
Sorry to hear that your experience was a poor one Rebecca. We do hope you give us a second chance.
Blackbird is a great choice for food and gathering with friends. I would recommend it as a great casual place for brunch.
Hostesses were just OK. Seemed disconnected even though we had a reservation.
Waiter was great and gave us time to drink a bit before order was brought out.
Food delicious and happy hour price was wonderful.
Food was tasty! Waiter, named Keenan, was friendly and attentive. Love that when you reserve a table on Open Table they literally put your name on it saying “welcome”. Great extra touch.
Meals were good.
Service was great.
Only issue; 2 men in next table were too loud.
We were pleased to be able to get a reservation for an early dinner on a Saturday. The food was delicious, and the service was great!
It was ok.
The bar standards were good.
But the entrees were disappointing. The steak frites were waaaay over sauced.
And the desert chocolate chip cookies were burned.
We won’t go back.
It was great. Causal and our kids really liked the food. Brussel sprouts were awesome!
Great place for casual dining! Also family friendly!
Sunday Brunch was a great experience, from our reserved table with a welcome sign on the table to the care and courtesy of our wait staff. Having two children under the age of seven, they were so engaged with our children from food to engaging with them. There were not many empty tables, though the noise level was not difficult for conversation...some of the other clientele did not care to watch their tongues as profanity was clearly heard and even a kind approach to avoid that on behalf of our children was not well received.
The food was quite good and the portion size was adequate for the cost involved. We will certainly be back for another brunch experience. Hopefully with kinder other patrons around us.
Amazing ravioli!!!!! Would go back. So yummy and good service
