View Private Dining DetailsGreat place wish they had a rate a value, 25 bucks for lunch at a place like this, crazy deal! Great place great job!
Awesome birthday dinner. We had the 10 course tasting menu which was fabulous. Restaurant did an excellent job getting us out the door for the theater without ever feeling rushed.
Excellent! The tasting menu with the wine pairing was fabulous. The service was great.
Excellent tasting menu. Every bite was near-perfect. The wine pairing was exactly right as well. An expensive meal that was worth every penny.
This place was incredible. The service and the food were outstanding. The service was very tentative and personable. The food was top ten best places I have ever eaten. I cannot wait to come back.
Our server was lovely and went out of her way to help accommodate food allergies. Service was extraordinarily slow but that is better than being rushed. My dishes were delicious. Noise hard to take.
Worthy of a Michelin Star. 10 course tasting menu was fantastic. We will be back.
The food was great! The timing of the food was well off. We sat at the bar over lunch hour as it was less formal. Started off great with out appetizers but there was about a 20-25 minute wait until we received our main lunch meal.
Couldn't have had a better experience. from the moment we walked in the door and were greeted warmly to the moment we grudgingly left for the night, every aspect of our dinner was superb. the staff was attentive but not overbearing and professional yet friendly. The food was creative and delicious and an experience unto itself. Truly a top notch destination and not just for "foodies" but accessible to all.
Incredible food and service experience. Highly recommend!
Extremely friendly staff and a wonderful server. Excellent cocktails to start. The tasting menu was creative and unique, very interesting presentations and accompanied by nicely selected wine parings; the wine pairings were rather unexpected also. Not an extremely intimate seating arrangement; When the restaurant fills you will be seated very close to the folks next to you so be 'ok' with being part of your neighbors' experience as well. Overall, we had a great time!
It was awesome as always
Had another superb dinner at Blackbird last Saturday. The restaurant was totally packed with people - hard to get through the door and initially a little off-putting, however we were quickly shown to our reserved table by the extremely gracious and friendly staff. Despite being so busy, the servers never seemed rushed or over-stretched, and everything proceeded at a nice pace - prompt service but with appropriate pauses in-between courses. The dishes were all beautifully plated and presented. The food itself was excellent as was the case on our last visit. Some interesting finds on the wine list which has been very thoughtfully put together, and offered with genuine enthusiasm and insightful advice. All in all a great experience. My only comment would be that this is not the place to come if you want to have a private or discreet conversation due to the close proximity of the tables and the noise level. However for all other occasions it's great !
I went here with a group of friends before a show. Food was delicious. Portion sizes were just right to leave a bit of room for dessert which was perfect because dessert was maybe the best part of the meal. Everything from food to service to ambience was terrific! I would definitely go back!
This restaurant is incredible. It is the best dining experience. The service is the most attentive and in-depth service I have experienced in a restaurant. The food is creative and attractive and enticing. The restaurant is elegant, contemporary and wonderful. Each time I go there, I am thrilled with the overall service.
From the service, to the food, dining at Blackbird was an exceptional expereince. They continue to provide a high end, culinary and dining expereince. One of the best in Chicago.
Simply the best eats, every time. Blackbird is hands down my favorite restaurant in Chicago.
I came here on a Monday and it was very slow inside. The service was almost non existent and our waitress came to our table 2 times in the 2 hours we were there. In addition, I asked for a variation on the margarita and asked to use a higher end mezcal instead of tequila and I was questioned by the bartender if “I was sure” that’s what I wanted, because in his opinion it tasted like moonshine which is definitely not the case. I heard a lot of great things about this place, but sadly I didn’t get that experience, not even on a slow night when more time could be had to touch the tables and provide better service was missed.
Tables way too close together. Otherwise great!
Great food and phenomenal service! Great recommendations from the waitress, and she made a nice accommodation for my shellfish allergy, as well as adding an extra scoop of ice cream for dessert. Also, I wanted to try an after dinner drink but wasn’t sure - bartender came out and helped pick a trio of drinks to try, off the menu!
As usual, Blackbird exceeded our expectations, the food and service were both spectacular. It is one of our go-to places in Chicago, and every time we go we are amazed at the creativity of the food, the beauty of the presentation, and the outstanding service that brings it all together. Thanks to the whole team!
We had the tasting menu and wine pairing- everything was really creative, beautifully presented and tasted so good! Staff were excellent.
Great as usual.
Phenomenal! They really know what they're doing with their flavors. Highly recommend the ten course meal. It was well worth every cent!
We had the prix fixed menu at $125 and it did not disappoint...10 courses. The presentation, color, aroma and taste were all perfect.
Excellent food and service! Tables are too close together and the restaurant is too noisy to make it an enjoyable experience. The proximity of the table doesn’t match the high quality of the food.
We enjoyed our Brussels sprouts appetizer and both entrees: sturgeon with gnocchi and pierogies. The pavlova for dessert didn't work for us...pavlova should have layers of meringue & the "bacon jam" overpowered the other flavors with its smokiness.
We had a wonderful experience on a very busy Saturday night and again on Sunday night. The service is impeccable and the food of the highest quality in terms of imaginativeness, preparation and presentation. The minimalist decor is beautiful. Can't wait to go back.
The name carries weight for a reason, service, food, and experience can’t be beat
All I can say is.... Amazing! Amazing! Amazing ! from start to finish. The service was absolutely incredible. They all made us feel very welcome and just like a member of their family. The food was so good and the portions were just right. Great wine list and wonderful ambiance. I look forward to returning very soon. Try it.... you will love it! Cherie
I was expecting something much more jaw dropping. The service was great but the food wasn’t anything to write home about in average. We did the tasting menu and maybe two or three items really stood out. I would argue not worth the money for a second visit... but glad we went!
A great value for the food, service and experience. The presentation of each plate was interesting and well done, but the service throughout the meal was great.
Found on a list of “places to dine alone” while traveling- it was close to the hotel (mariott) and was billed as an affordable Michelin star. Service at the bar was great, staff & my seatmates were friendly - food was worthy of the star. Would reccomend for a special occasion or for dining on the company dollar ;)
Very enjoyable except tables too close together.
Blackbird is my favorite place for lunch in Chicago. $25 fix price 3 course lunch menu. Ask the server to do a wine pairing for your meal, let them choose the wines for you. You will be glad you asked.
One of our Chicago favorites. Incredible food and staff
Went to Blackbird for a nice intimate dinner to celebrate my birthday. The food and service were outstanding and the bartender did an excellent job with our drinks.
We did the tasting menu which was 10 courses and a good sample of most of the things on the menu; it was great!
Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food.
My only issue would be with the space itself. The seating area for the restaurant is rather small and since they are always busy you'll end up squeezed into seats between other patrons for most of your meal. They/You literally have to move the table to get out of your seat. In addition our reservation was at 8:30 but we didn't end up being seated until a little after 9:00.
Well worth the wait though. I would definitely recommend.
The food was good, not amazing, not mind-blowing. Good.
foods are good but too crowded
Food was great! Service was just ok. Made a big deal about the credit card call ahead in front of everyone, which was the exact opposite of the point of giving a credit card ahead of time.
