Very good and innovative food. Small portions, but very interesting and flavoured. Entrées of 1st level. Wines are not cheep, like everywhere in the States...
We go to the restaurant every year. The food is always exceptionally delicious and the service is the best in Chicago.
Blackbird was disappointing for a restaurant with a Michelin star. Many of the dishes missed the mark and were unbalanced. Our favorites of the night were the kampachi, beef tartare with oysters served in oyster shells and the rhubarb dessert. The rest of the dishes were overly salted or too sweet. Every dish was beautifully presented; however given the reputation we were expecting more.
We had a fantastic experience at Blackbird. We had been there a few years ago and found it to be even better than our last visit. Very creative food and a wonderful wine list. The best part of the experience though was our server Andrew Herring! He was one of the most knowledgeable and engaging servers we have had anywhere in the world. Please keep him (and promote him!).
A wonderful experience. You have to be patient as you may have to wait an hour even with your reservation. But the personnel is taking very good care of you and it's definitely worth waiting for. The wine is incredible and food has many awards for a good reason.
Became a bit claustrophobic by the end of the meal due to the placement of the tables.

Fantastic date night with my wife. Service and cuisine were great. Recommend trying the cheese plate as a dessert with a nice red.

We had the endive salad which was awesome and the mushroom veloute. I would love that recipe. It was particularly good.
We ordered the pork pave and the duck confit salad. Both superb. I would order again.
Dessert we had were very interesting as. I would recommend. One was an ice cream that was a White Russian flavor. A sorbet was mojito flavored. Something you would want to have in your freezer.

Exceptional presentation of absolutely delicious food. There was a tasting menu which looked fantastic, but too much for us that evening. I would come back for it on a special occasion. We did two separate appetizers: mussels and yellow tail. Perfectly balanced tastes in both. On to lamb and sturgeon. Again, well proportioned size and taste wise. Highly recommend the bread serving. Yes an extra $2 but bread you want to take home it is that good. Finished off with two scoops of ice cream; one called Yuzi which I can’t describe but you must try.
My wife and I hadn't been to Blackbird for nearly eight years. It was great back then. It is FAR better now. All courses were superb and the service was excellent. It is no mystery why they are a favorite of James Beard and Michilen.

My 2nd time going. Food was delicious, although for the price, I don't know how often I would choose to go here. Our server was wonderful and gave great recommendations.
We went for lunch. If you choose the fixe price menu, it is a good way to try their menu. I loved the food and the ambiance. The wine choices are great. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed all the meal's presentations and flavors. I will definitely be coming back.

The food was outstanding and service was just as good! Cocktails were yummy (fun names) and we were treated with an amuse bouche. The owner was lovely. I loved the mussels, and I had the lamb as a main course. I highly recommend the lamb!! Great date spot too:)
Still fantastic after all these years. Dinner is not the value that lunch provides but consistently high quality food and interesting options. We will continue to come back regularly.
