A completely unique menu with so many great choices. The food itself was fantastic. Great service, great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
This was an experience. My dinner was amazing. I can't wait to come back with a few girlfriends who like to eat as much as I do so we can try it smorgasbord style.
Valentine’s Dinner. Still our favorite place. Food wasn’t up to par this time around.
Galentines day dinner with my friends!! It was a success!! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Foood was bomb!! Service was exceptional! Our waitress, Allegra, was wonderful as well as the other staff! We had oysters, the lamb ribs & hush puppies, and mac & cheese bites for apps. Must try! The peruvian potato & brussel blend that was paired with my strip... *chef’s kiss*. We will be back.
Went for dinner with my husband, wonderful food, drinks and atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Great service and interesting menu. We had the Mac and cheese bites, cast iron strip and pork tomahawk. All the food was delicious. The drinks were interesting and well done, just not my favorite. For dessert we got the red velvet cake - we could have skipped it. It was ice cold and didn’t have much flavor.
Above what we had expected. Very good food. Staff was excellent. Great for special occasions, date night, or just an intimate evening.
Service was bad, 1 out of 3 apps was cold.. not the worst but expected more.
The veggie options were excellent. The ingredients need to be spelled out a little more as the veggie balls both had goat cheese in them and some folks really dont like goat cheese. Service was excellent.
Amazing food.. amazing service.. can’t wait to return
First time dining at the Back Walnut. I made reservations for my birthday on a Saturday and we were sat right away. The girls at the check stand were very sweet and personable. One was in training and was doing awesome.
Our server Ryan was running nonstop but never failed to check in with us or fill our glass. Ryan is a Rpckstar!!! The manager came over as well to check in on our experience which is always a plus for me. Our meal was so good, I wanted to order it again and take it to go🥰. Also, if you would like desert your options are their Black Walnut Cake OR just step over into LaBaquette, select another kind of desert(tons of options) and they’ll have it brought to your table.
10/10 would recommend, WILL RETURN, and will think about that meal until I enjoy it again. 😁
Great as usual!!
Fantastic restaurant. I’ll be back without a doubt!
Tomahawk was amazing.
Amazing food, great dining area, and great service. There are definitely some unique recipes and cocktails that are worth trying.
Wonderful experience! The food was amazing. A great blend of flavors and and ingredients made the menu very interesting and enticing. We selected multiple different plates from all the sections of the menu and were very impressed with each dish. The bar menu was equally exciting. We tried five different cocktails and each was so unique and satisfying. The ambience of the room was low key, relaxed, and elegant. I cant say enough about the professionalism of the staff. Our waitress was outstanding, she was so knowledgeable of the menu and offered many suggestions and reviews of her own. She was prompt, very courteous, sweet natured and friendly. I think of her as the quintessential Oklahoman. She is a super star! It was my first visit to the restaurant and it will not be our last, we discovered a new family favorite!
Good unique food offering. Great service. Not noisy, great place to dine with friends.
Food was excellent. I had the tomahawk and my wife had the cast iron steak. Both were amazing. Our waiter, Ryan, was less than attentive. Had to put down the fork for 15 minutes and wait on a refill at one point. Our table was in the middle of the room near the kitchen and bar. Another team member filled up my water on the way by. My wife walked out a cocktail shy of what she would have had, because it took so long to get service.
We waited over an hour for a salad that had 1 beet cut in quarters
They were out of one of the entrees 15 minutes after it was ordered we were notified
Food was only fair and way too expensive for quality
Will not be returning
Drinks were fair
Ryan the waiter was as pleasant and helpful as they come. He gave great recommendations on both food and drinks. The drinks were soft and refreshing but still have the alcohol content as desired. We ordered the fried green tomatoes. They were very fancy looking but were not as flavorful as i had hoped. Nothing compared to grandmas. For the entree we had the cast iron steak that was out of this world with perfectly cooked potatoes. We also had the pork tomahawk and Brussels the pork was great but the sweet sauce on top was strange but not terrible, the Brussels were amazing not a bite left. The finale! The hot butter rum cake! Omg i am late in my 30s and this has to be the best desert i have had in ages. The food and atmosphere may not be your thing but its definitely worth checking out!!
It was great an amazing atmosphere, food was great and services was delightful. Definitely plan to go back!
Keep in my mind as you read this that we had tried The Grey Sweater last August with a sad experience. The Black Walnut was very disappointing! Once seated we had to move due to the air system blowing right on our table. Then once we moved our waiter- Ryan- was less than attentive. We had to wave at the bar to get service and ask another waiter-Rachel- for utensils. The food was mediocre at best. One of our guests ordered scallops that were over cooked, returned and brought a much better prepared plate. I am happy we tried this restaurant, however we will not be returning ever. There are other restaurants to try and enjoy in the metro area.
Great food and great service. Will be back soon
Great food and service. The cocktails are exceptional. We have been a few times and it was excellent each time.
Bringing my sister next time she is in town. Incredible food and service by William and Cory was top notch.
The Black Walnut was a pleasant discovery for my wife and I. Their fried green tomatoes were perfectly prepared with an avocado slice. The Tomahawk steak was excellent. It was coupled with Mac n Cheese. The steak was plenty for the two of us to enjoy. I highly recommend their house drink.
Delicious food! I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts!
Very nice. Younger crowd.
Was wonderful! We definitely would go back. Elegant but casual. Food was great. Drinks were absolutely amazing! Would recommend.
Tv didn’t work
AMAZING. 10 out of 10!
Food generally over-sauced. I got the spinach pasta which was supposed to come with a soft poached egg. My egg was hard boiled. Very disappointing. I mentioned it to the waiter, who was otherwise very nice, and instead of checking, just said that was how it comes. Stunning. Too bad
Never had a bad experience at black walnut. I always enjoy coming there.
The layout is confusing (host desk is on the other side of entrance) we were seated next to the front door with no shielding from cold air...which was uncomfortable. The menu and prices were too pretentious given the atmosphere. ie, dipping sauce was served in a tiny plastic cup. Only had the quail appetizer which was expensive, mediocre tasting and hard
to eat. They should take inspiration from Hamilton’s quail knots.
We left without ordering an entree. I wouldn’t recommend
Food was absolutely divine!
This place is to die for! Food amazing, ambiance fantastic, and service was awesome as well. It is a little pricey but it is well worth it. The only feedback is it was little dark for my guest and she had a hard time seeing the menu where we sat but other than that this place is a must try!!
One of our favs. Always great. The service is excellent.
Excellent service from William and amazing food from Chef Black's team! We loved the baked chevre, the branzino, and the pork tomahawk. Don't forget to try their best cocktail "No sleep till brooklyn" and a Chocolate Mouse (Yes, mouse) for dessert from La Baguette next door!
Excellent food and a great vibe!!
