Black Sheep Restaurant
Overall negative experience - rooftop was too dark to see menu or food, staff was indifferent - taking a long time between drink/dinner/refills, and the restaurant was out of the Sunday special, which was the whole reason we came. Very unlikely I would visit again.
Love the atmosphere here, always a good time and food is great!!
Food was superb and loved the rooftop ambiance very much.
Excellent food and great service!!
Great first experience! Can't wait to go back. The food was delicious and staff was very friendly.
Food was amazing service was fantastic.
We sat outside it was beautiful and very little foot traffic
The rooftop dining experience was a fantastic way to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day meal with my fiance. The weather was perfect for it, and even as the night grew darker and chilly, the restaurant offers heating lamps around the dining and bar areas. It gave a sense of contemporary-coziness. The hosts and wait staff were diligent in preparing our table, taking our orders, and checking in on us during our time there. Our server even suggested the perfect wine to pair with my steak - and the food was exquisite!
Amazing venue, friendly staff and a menu for everyone with fantastic food. Very highly recommended and the rooftop is the best.
Dinner options are very limited. The type of food, combinations, ingredients and price are not for everyone ( ribs and grits ??)
Suzanne a waitress at the restaurant. Had been the best waitress we have ever had. It was my girlfriends birthday and she was perfect. Thank you
Fabulous service, very accommodationg
Was very nice rooftop. Enjoyed the evening with friends.
We tried the Sunday special fried chicken dinner for two. The chicken was excellent, but the biscuits were a big dense and heavy and the turnips were undercooked. The service and atmosphere were very nice, as always. We will definitely return, although maybe not for the Sunday chicken special.
We celebrated my birthday here, the food was delicious it was a little chilly but the rooftop has a wonderful atmosphere
It took ages to get menus. There seemed to be a miscommunication between host and server. Manager came by and got it straight but it seemed we lagged behind in service the rest of the meal.
The other problem was the adult food was delivered ahead of the 2 yr old child. That caused a problem with a minor melt down. Perhaps in future something could be offered like some fruit or a biscuit.
This does not mean we were overall unhappy. We had a good meal w good friends. This is by way of FYI
Outstanding wine and dinner menus. Good variety and really good wine menus. We sat down stairs where they have outdoor seating. Enjoy
Our server Jeremy was fabulous!
Slow service and cold food.
Excellent service. Excellent food. The rooftop dining was amazing.
Good food, great service and view. This is a Definite repeater.
We did the roof top seating and the waitress and waiters were overloaded. Our waitress took a while to bring a smile to the table. The food was just a hair under excellent and a good evening overall.
My wife and I took a day for ourselves and we could not have been happier to come to this restaurant. We got their early to get drinks at the rooftop bar which was amazing. Dinner was fantastic and the service was impeccable. Will be back in the future. I did not expect reservations to be so hard to get, but I understand why now.
We were seated right away. The onion soup, soup of the day, and bread service was delivered promptly. Everyone raves about their soup, perfect on a cold day. Our server was patient and professional. She gave great suggestions and constantly refilled our water glasses. The entrees took forever.
We were close to leaving despite the special occasion. It was unfortunate because we had talked up the restaurant to our out of town guests. Apparently our party of eight was difficult to accommodate. All around disappointing. I’m sure the food was good, but everyone was hungry and ate in silence. We had planned to have dessert but opted to just get out of there. Disappointing for the final meal for a 50th Birthday weekend. Next time, we won’t make a special trip to BS.
Fantastic meal and very attentive and knowledgeable server.
Nice space. Good cocktails. Tasty food with provenance. Professional service.
Excellent service and great food! Always enjoy my visit, especially when the weather is nice and we can take advantage of the rooftop dining.
Black Sheep is a great place for brunch. The food was great and the service was also. It was too cold to take advantage of their rooftop terrace, but it was bright and comfortable in the main dining area.
We have been frequent dinner patrons since the restaurant opened, and would welcome a more varied/refreshed menu. We used to love the pan-seared trout with broccolini and would like to see it as a regular menu option. My companion was very pleased with the duck special, and much preferred it over the regular menu item.
Great food , great place!! Would go back in a heartbeat. The menu is unique and has great choices to offer.
We enjoyed breakfast this Sunday, wait was no long, food was good, a little pricey for small cocktails- only ordered one.
Tables crammed together, one of which we had to accept because although we made a reservation online for the rooftop, it never specified that it only applied to certain parts of the restaurant (excluding the roof). Food was very slow to come out and was lukewarm and bland...on top of being overpriced. Tiny menu without much variation, and inattentive servers.
The short rib was out of this world. The kimchi, grits and soft boiled egg all played so nicely together but the grits were the star! My husband said for not being a steakhouse, the steak Diana was great. For dessert, we had the s’more pops. They were delicious and the fire on the plate was fun and whimsical. We can’t wait to bring our out of town family to try!
An Excellent Choice for casual fare and reasonably priced as well. Parking can be a bit scarce but it's worth the short walk to experience yet a another gem in the area.
Wonderful service! They make you feel like a VIP from the moment you walk into the restaurant. I loved that they offer roof-top seating. It was very kid-friendly, I loved that they had options for our 4 year old daughter and a kid's menu. Our server was very friendly and professional. The drinks and food came out in a timely manner and EVERYTHING was delicious! It has a very fun and relaxing vibe. Greatly enjoyed our experience!
Great food, great service, love the rooftop bar. Definitely recommend.
Excellent salad, salmon and snapper
We went to Black Sheep for New Years Eve dinner and were very disappointed in the specials. We had eaten there several times and always had a great meal but New Years Eve was an exception. Two of the people in our party ordered the Snow Crab Uni Linguine and found it very fishy tasting in spite of what our server had told us about the dish. The other two members of our party ordered the Cote de Beof special and were also disappointed. For the ribeye (served 2) we found the meat full of gristle and very fatty - not really my expectation for an entree at that price point ($75). Two of our party also ordered the dessert special which was a chocolate mousse with fig compote and both found the fig compote very grainy and bitter and as a side benefit it turned your lips and teeth black. I was also charged for the beer I was served and a beer that was not served since they said they were out of it. Not our best outing at Black Sheep.
I was not happy to see a man in there with a wife beater shirt on and gym shorts. If I'm paying for a nice meal I would like to see people dressed nice.
A very welcoming and awesome wait staff. They treated me with kindness and offer suggestions for a good meal. I will be back next time that I’m in Florida
Other than the solemn host, the staff was very friendly and professional. Lindsay helped us with our selections, and the food was great, desserts fantastic. Please bring back the chicken and dumplings. 😊 Nobody cares about lentils. Ha.
