Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time. Priority is placed on your party, and if we are on a wait, your party is placed on top of the wait list as a priority. We will seat you as fast as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact time. If the restaurant is not busy, we will seat the party upon arrival.

    Rack of ribs were delivered cold had to be sent back. Meat was tough and very difficult to cut for 2 dinner patrons. Not as pleasant an experience as in past visits. A bit disappointing.

    Terrible kitchen service. Seated quickly however took forever for our waitress to get to us. When she did we got to order our drinks we also put in for two appetizers. We got a drinks a few minutes later then ordered our food. 50 minutes later salads and soup came out but still not appetizers. I asked and are waitress was rude and said I can cancel them if you would like. One of the kids still wanted the shrimp so I told her it's ok. I didn't get my soup still and she said she forgot to put it in. 10 minutes later I get my french onion soup. no cheese and literally was like water with nothing but Italian seasoning. We then got our food, minus our shrimp and scallops that she said would be out in a little while. Truth be told this place has went downhill. We've given them 3 tries thinking it was just a fluke, well obviously it isn't. Terrible anymore !!!

    Service was extremely slow. I had a baked potato with my steak and it was bad, the potato was hard half the way through. We were there for an hour before we got our food. Service was so slow, I actually went to the bar myself to get a drink. If you have 2 hours, want to cook your own food and have poor food sides. It may be an option. The only thing that was good was my French onion soup.

    This is my second visit to Black Rock...1st time at this location. Though they dont accept reservations, "Priority seating" worked well and we were seated within 15 min. Of arrival. Service was great, love the food and hot stone experience. A bit smoky atmosphere but it's a "bar and grill" so understandable. We were seated in a booth near a window so not much issue with smoke. A busy place a noisy but given it's a bar and grill with TV's...it fits the atmosphere. Overall. I would go back. PLENTY OF FOOD and took leftovers home. You wont go hungry!

    It was not a busy Monday and it seemed adequately staffed but it was a long wait at every step. And our server forgot about the soup we ordered.

    Food was good. First time here. Fun experience to cook on the stones. However, service was poor and inattentive. Side dishes were forgotten and asked twice to get them, sides didn't come out until we got our bill to leave. Server never checked in or offered any drink refills or cocktails.

    Priority seating was questionable, it took 7 minutes after I received the email that my table was ready for them to seat us. food was good, we had them cook the meat and it was inconsistent, they forgot the sauce for the coconut shrimp. Also, with people cooking on the rock, the cooking smell got overwhelming by the end of our meal.

    Food has been consistently great. They replaced the wedge salad with a chopped. The chopped was good but the wedge was better. Their clam chowder is one of the better chowders in the area, plenty of clams. We had a minor issue trying to use an American Express gift card. Our intent was to use the amount on the gift card plus cash to pay our bill. Unfortunately , they could not process our payment . We paid cash and will use our gift card elsewhere. This is our favorite eatery in Michigan !

    30 minutes before a server appeared, grubby,worn out interior, basically a sports bar pretending to be a restaurant, 45 minutes to see food, then had to cook my serving at the table.

    Not great. We were seated at 6:40 PM and did not get our food until after 8 PM. We receded underneath a AC blowing vent, and it was extremely cold. We did speak with a manager, and they stated that the kitchen was shortstaffed, but our server claimed to have checked on our order multiple times, and yet when we received the food most of it, it was cold, and some of it had been overcooked as if it had been sitting for a long time. The manager did give us a bit of a discount, but it has soured us on the experience, and we will not be returning.

    Our 2nd time there, the waitress was very friendly and explained how to use the stone again. She was very good, but she could have told us her name so I could tell it to you. Will be back again.

    Have been here many times before, but this was the worst experience I've had there. One of the meals (that was cooked in the kitchen) came out over cooked. When we informed the server she said, "That's why we don't normally cook things - because we can't" and proceeded to say that the order should have been done in the hot rock. We informed the manager which was helpful, but then the server came and told us that she got in trouble for what she had told us. In all, a very bad experience.

    Great experience as always. We sat in the 'patio' area instead of the restaurant area this time, and it's definitely a louder atmosphere. If you are looking for more intimate atmosphere where you can have a conversation, choose the restaurant side.

    Block Rock is a beautiful restaurant. The Hostess was friendly and we were seating pretty close to our priority seating time. We were able to get a seat at the bar while waiting about 15 minutes. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Once seated our server was friendly and timely. The food was great. I had a sirloin with mushrooms, coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries. My wife had ribeye and sweet potato mash. Excellent atmosphere and food! We will definitely go back.
