Black Rock Bar & Grill, an award winning steakhouse specializing in certified angus beef steaks served on a sizzling stone. Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time. Priority is placed on your party, and if we are on a wait, your party is placed on top of the wait list as a priority. We will seat you as fast as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact time. If the restaurant is not busy, we will seat the party upon arrival.

    Our waitress was very prompt & pleasant. The food was excellent as always. We had the steak & rib. Both were very good. The white Mac n cheese is a amazing. We highly recommend.

    This is an experience but not one I would pay to have again. Personal preference, if I am spending $100+ for a nice meal out I prefer to have my steak cooked for me. Our waiter Chris was fantastic. Priority seating for parties under 8 is a joke.

    We signed in and within 20 minutes a table was ready for us despite the hour and a half wait for other people who did not use open table. Our waitress was very accommodating and always checked in to make sure everything was delicious and our drinks were filled!

    This was our first time to Black Rock. Overall we had a good experience. Priority seating worked well for us. We arrived a bit early and had time to go to the bar for cocktails which were well made. The food was great, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. We decided not to cook our own on the hot volcanic stone, but it was fun to see it at other tables. Our only issue was our server. She never cleared our dishes unless specifically asked to. We asked to have our soup dishes removed which she did, but we forgot my salad bowl, so she left that. After we had eaten, we had quite a few dishes crowding the table, and she asked if we wanted dessert. Nice, but not sure where that would have gone. We stacked our plates and other stuff to give us some space to finish our wine. The check was brought, paid, signed, and we left with the plates still not cleared off the table.

    Such a fun experience. The food was excellent. We had the pretzel appetizer, two different salads, steaks and two different sides. Every single item was delicious. This was our first visit to Black Rock and we will be back for many more! Service was impeccable too! Our waitress, Amanda, did a fantastic job.

    Food was really good. Good prices for what you get. Place is very loud when busy. Service was ok but no pre-busing salad and soup bowls were left on table the whole time. But server was pleasant.

    Once again the food was out of this world wonderful. Chaniqua and Chris are 5 stars each. Their service and personalities will keep us coming back. The bartender "Molly" has a reputation of being "absent" from her station and could not be found for 20 minutes while we waited for a cocktail. She saw us and ignored us completely while our ticket for drinks were waiting for her action. Perhaps because the restaurant was NOT busy (4:30), she felt it was ok to be lackadaisical but this type of behavior makes Black Rock look bad. Kudos to Open Table for Priority Seating because it works like a charm! Thank you.

    We just happened to find this restaurant on a trip to Dayton, Ohio. Steaks arrived uncooked and you cooked them to your own liking on a stone heated to 750 degrees. The steak was one of the best I have ever had, beating out the high-priced famous steak centered restaurants. The steaks are served with your choice of sauces. The bourbon sauce was great. Excellent service. Don’t bother with the side salad. More cheese than greens.

    Our server was very professional and was checked constantly if we needed anything. Priority Seating was great as well, we arrived about 15 minutes before I schedule time and was seated exactly at are reserved time. Food was really good, quality and quantity was appropriate. Pricing, well what do you expect for this type of food.
