Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time. Priority is placed on your party, and if we are on a wait, your party is placed on top of the wait list as a priority. We will seat you as fast as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact time. If the restaurant is not busy, we will seat the party upon arrival.

    Always have a fantastic meal and service when we go to Black Rock. It’s a top 5 favorite restaurant for us and The prices, food and service is always very good. This time we took a frien who had never been there and she absolutely loved it and said she can’t wait to take her adult son there.

    My daughter is avoiding soy and dairy while nursing her son. The chef came out and talked to her about options twice- main and sides. Very nice and extra comforting. Our steaks were great and our sides were super. My sister said the apple on her salad was way too tart but everything else was very good. Our server, Peighton, was terrific!!! Reservation on OT was very easy, too!

    The staff was upset and rude. They couldn’t seat us at a booth because they were short staffed so we had to sit a high top table even though My handicapped mother couldn’t get onto the high top chair they told us there is nothing they could do and she could sit in her Walker or we could leave! We couldn’t believe it! It was the most horrible Mother’s Day experience ever!

    The restaurant was not busy. Service was slow. Didn’t even understand a gin and tonic drink. Drinks took forever food even longer. There were only three of us.

    We had to wait over an hour for our party of 10 to be seated. There were not enough bussers to clear the tables. The employees at the hostess desk were not enthusiastic about they're jobs, and could provide no information on how long the wait would be.

    Food was ok. The waiter was nice but incompetent. We ordered appetizers of Brussels and pretzels but were informed they didn't have Brussels. So, we opted for the pretzels and fried pickles. Both were great. I ordered the ribeye French dip and french onion soup. My sandwich arrived w no fries. The server, not the waiter, set the food down and was gone like a shot. My son ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. His food arrived w regular fries. I took his fries and asked the waiter for sweet potato fries as well as the French onion soup I didn't get. My daughter in law ordered the stirfry w chicken. Her order arrived without chicken. Of course, we asked the waiter for chicken for the stirfry. My wife was the only order that was correct. We began to eat and, as I said the food was ok. As I was finishing my sandwich, the waiter stopped and asked how everything was. It was then I told him that I don't need the French onion soup. As dinner wrapped up, the waiter brought the check. We looked it over and found that we were charged for the Brussels as well as the soup I never received. Bottom line, I won't be back. 🤷

    I really like this place a lot & would like to love it.. super fun, nice people, novel concept & generally enjoyable, with a BIG caveat: They really need to increase the ventilation somehow. I seriously feel like I’m being engulfed in smoke while we are eating, with no way to escape it. More updraft ventilation, even if it’s just being recirculated, would help a lot. If you’re thinking it’s going to be like when you go to a hibachi restaurant, no.. you’re going to be actually sitting within a cloud of smoke, and your clothes & hair are going to reek when you get home As to the food, it ranges from fairly good to pretty good, not much of it what I consider “exceptional” and some not so good.. but, at its price point I think it offers a solid experience. Just need to lose the smoke somehow. I will return to be supporting the restaurant, but hope they try to improve that overall experience, as we are all somewhat hesitant at this point to do so.

    Priority seating was great, baked potatoes wasn’t cooked, food that was ordered never showed up, waiter got the bills all mixed up, waiter couldn’t handle a big group.. not a good experience this time, never had any problems prior to this.

    Fun and unique experience. Staff was friendly and food was good. The atmosphere was a bit smoky due to all the steaks sizzling on the volcanic stone. Lights above booths/tables were a bit too bright.

    I just wanted to leave a positive review regarding my first experience at your Toledo restaurant. It was my wife's birthday and she is a huge desert fan. When she saw your website and saw the free birthday volcano she just had to try it. I was curious about cooking my own steak so said sure. Why not. We used your priority seating and we were seated immediately on entering. I ordered the steak and coconut shrimp and she got the 1lb ribs. I let the waitress know it was my wife's birthday and we wanted the birthday volcano. She said of course. The clam chowder was in my opinion the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). The rest of the meal was simply awesome.. I had my doubts but you are now my favorite steak place. It was an absolutely fantastic meal! Mark

    Other than the steak that we cooked at our table and the potato, everything else was brought to us cold. Soup, fries, Mac and cheese, and a side of ribs. The ribs were cold like they came out of the fridge and warmed up a bit. They tasted good, just cold.

    We did the priority seating and waited a little over an hour for a table. We weren’t expecting to wait quite that long, but sounded like a few unexpected things came up to cause that so no biggy. Once we were seated our experience was great. Food came out quickly and was amazing! Server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. We will definitely be back!

    The priority seating on open table for the time of the reservation was 7:30 we were not seated until 8:10. They were out of quite a few appetizers and some sides.

    The food was fine when we got it. But the restaurant was short handed so we waited 40 minutes for our meal. The manager did give us a discount but obviously they need to staff kitchen. But my salad, steak and potato were great.

    We got there when it opened and it was chilly but it was really cold outside. Everyone liked their food. It didn't take long for our food to be served. The service was fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

    We had priority seating set up for 3:30. We understood it may not be ready. Obviously, your location is having staffing issues as there was plenty of room in the restaurant. We were seated about 20 minutes later in a booth next to the south window, we were freezing! Upon arrival at our booth, we had to ask someone to sweep underneath the table to remove chunks of steak and other food. Initially, our waitress was pretty prompt yet others around us were seated after and got their food much faster. There were only 2 adults and 2 kids. One of the kiddos did fall asleep bundled up in coats so she never ate but the waitress did send home a lava cake for my birthday so they could experience that at home. It was after 5 before we got our food. Hopefully, you can get some better heating in that section, or new windows, it did warm up when my cooktop arrived!! Maybe use the Mall area seating instead of the cold side! That area was not being used. Good luck with staffing, we would like to try your place again.

    The food was pretty bad. I asked the staff to cook my filet mignon to medium. I received some piece of meat that was over cooked. My wife had uncooked shrimp on her plate. Server was nice but manager did not care

    Not impressed unfortunately. Brussels sprout appetizer had good flavor but not cooked all the way through. Steaks, which were filet medallions, had gristle in a few pieces so not great quality. Side dishes both came out cold. Just overall not a great experience.

    My server Jeff was not friendly , he made us felt rush with ordering, it seem like he didn’t want to be at work. I ordered some crab legs and when they arrived they looked old, and they were freezing cold !
