   The kitchen was unorganized. Our food came out. In intervals. We waited an hour and a half for our appetizers. They need to figure it out there and get some help.

   We sat in an area that had a clear garage door. It was freezing and would suggest asking for a seat inside if visiting during colder months. Our server did not know the beers that were on tap - read them off standing by our table and said "not sure what the last one is". We had signed up for the rewards program and asked how that worked. Our server said she didn't know and her manager was too busy to help her and/or us. When our server brought us our appetizer she asked if we needed app plates, or if we could just eat from the dish. We were provided a menu with beer specials and new released. I ordered a beer special and my husband ordered a new release. The server told us they weren't available. A short time later another server delivered the beer I asked for to table next to us. I am pretty sure it was available, and our server didn't want to be bothered. She didn't want to be bothered with app plates or finding her manager either. I ordered their burger medium - it was delivered well-done and dry. The server never came back to check on us to see how the food was so I tried to eat some of it. For the prices we paid it definitely was not worth it. I would highly recommend going elsewhere for a nice meal/evening. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that serve better food and have far better service for those prices.

   2nd time going there, very slow service and always cold, we had to eat with our coats on and we weren't the only ones. I looked around and everyone was wearing hoodies or jackets. Food was great. Might go back in the summer ☀️

   Neat environment. Enjoy the burgers, lobster roll and chicken caesar wrap. Kitchen was slow to get food out, but it was good once we got it. Desserts aren't great. Don't waste your money.

   The food was just ok Price was high for what you got . I felt like when you get a shrimp torlene. You would got like 3 pieces. Don't get much for your buck. The service was great. We had a good waitress. Would not recommend going here food is like going anywhere else but you don't get hardly anything. I thought it was over price for what you get.

   we were seated right next to very loud party of 10 some of which were elderly and shouted to make themselves heard. our waitress took our initial drink orders and 10 minutes later we received our beverages. we (party of 4) ordered 2 appetizers and they brought 3 ,very pricey . 2 appetizers brussel sproutes $ 10.00 each , 1 appetizer firecracker shrimp(6 pcs) $ 11.00 , two perch dinners were $52.00 2 small pieces of perch 12 french fries 1/4 cup coleslaw , 1 pasta primevera (highly seasoned) $18.00 ,and one shrimp newburg tortellini (sauce was very little and seasoned with way too much pepper) . Desert for 2 came to $21.00 . Server had to be asked 2 to 3 times for more beverage , All in all not a good dining experience. Will not be returning .

   The food was amazing, we were sat by the big window area and it was freeezing I wish they had a space heater but our server Savannah was amazing!! Also the martinis were very good!

    It is a place to eat after a round of golf. However, for a date night I would not recommend. The food was bland at best and not really worth the value.

    Nice public dining room off a golf course, menu is much more interesting than what one would expect in that setting, food well prepared, service attentive. The setting would be improved by scrapping Mediocre Soft Rock Hits muzak in favor of Blue Note Jazz or something with more class.

    The four of us always enjoy coming here because of the ambience and landscape from the restaurant view. It’s a great place to meet another couple for dinner on the weekend or dinner during the week if we don’t feel like cooking. Our server was very friendly and attentive And the food was good. The only complaint I think I could even say was that the bowl of lobster bisque was not full it seemed like it needed one more ladle of soup for the price. Overall we will continue to come here because the food is so good

    This was a real disappointment. We had been fans pre-covid days... wow, so much has declined. Menu did not match online, printed but could barely see the faded ink. Very small selection. Waiter told us he was in a big hurry because he was also working a wedding in the next room . Recommened the philly cheesesteak . It was unedible, just like shoe leather. Wings were greasy and no taste. Waiter never came back the entire evening....so we flagged down another server to clear the check... I know everyone is short staffed, so not blaming him as much as the management . Will not be returning. but sad part is that it is a beautiful facility and once known for great food. Beautiful view of the golf course, entrance impressive with gorgeous flowers and very clean , in spite of the other issues.

    Me and my wife really enjoyed Black River Tavern in the past for brunch. He our server was very conscientious and polite. We went there for a relaxing brunch unfortunately the brunch menu has changed tremendously for the worst. I ordered a breakfast sandwich sausage was extremely undercooked the egg extremely overcooked. Our server accommodated us the best he could another server joined in to get our order corrected. My wife’s food was ok at best . You go to a meal at an establishment for a pleasant experience. Black river tavern underperformed for our experience. Not certain we will return.

    I wrote a glowing review of this Golf Course restaurant just a year ago. I’ve since used it only for a quick “at the turn” eatery until last night. July 15th. I’m sorry to say that the 5 star plus rating of last year is merely a 3 for dining today. For starters the menu on the web site does not exist. Gone are the fine entrees from a year ago. No sirloin, short ribs, scallops, BBQ Ribs. Selections are just about what you’ll find in your neighborhood sports bar. The difference between the two are the number of tv screens you’ll be forced to contend with. Burgers are now a broader selection item on the menu. Gone, too, are the great Lobster Tots and in their place are garlicky fried potato cubes with a dash of parmigiana cheese. My wife had the fish and chips and got three pieces of frozen breaded cod that looked like they came from the near by Costco freezer section. Not at all fresh fish. I had chicken parmigiana which was one piece of chicken fried to near perfect shoe leather quality and linguine with a mild sauce that came in a small oval serving dish. Definitely more a lunch size portion in any of the near by quality restaurants in Westlake or even Elyria. Prices for most entrees were in the $18-$24 range. One perk was my tangeray and tonic came in a 10 once drinking glass and the bar tender was generous in his pour. Definitely not the high quality of just 11 months ago (dinner wise) and I won’t be back for dinner or for a quick stop while playing a round of golf. Don’t know why the restaurant has gone this route and my questions couldn’t be answered by my friendly and capable server , Rick, nor from the hostess. It’s a shame the restaurant industry has fallen off as much as it has. I’ll go out of my way to visit a good establishment with decent atmosphere. Such as Burntwood Tavern on Columbia Rd. In North Olmsted. It will be a while before we give Black River Tavern another try . David B Avon OH

    We love to support local and the atmosphere is always excellent on the patio. that’s where the “good” experience ended. Ordered the Steak Frietis Med-rare cook and after waiting 45 minutes received a piece of meat (not the cut i ordered) and it was barely warmed through (blue raw) we got an apology @ told that “pushing” the chef to get orders done!! we paid for my husband’s meal, and left a tip for the waitress. SADLY, WE WON’T BE BACK 😞

    Never had a chance to dine. We arrived on time, waited at the hostess stand where it took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us even though employees walked passed us numerous times. Once they finally greeted us, she said there was no reservation for us in the system. I provided the paper showing our reservation information. We were then told we would have to wait for over an hour to be seated with or without a reservation. We left the establishment to seek other dining. Not a good start for my wife's birthday.

    Sidewinder fries were a hit with everyone at the table. Giant pretzel with cheese spread and honey mustard was great start. Entrees excellent value and fresh. Nice experience.

    I got the stuffed prawn special for $21. While it was very good it wasn’t big enough to qualify as an appetizer let alone an entree. This was advertised as a special and I feel like this was not full disclosure and the waitress should have let me know it wasn’t even close to being a meal. I brought it up to her and all I got was an I’m sorry. The burgers and fries looked good so maybe it’s more of a place to grab a burger.

    Waitress was very personable but service was incredibly slow. Didn’t seem that busy but it took quite a long time to just get our first drink. Hot meal was served warm and others in our party did not get what they ordered. We were really looking forward to this place but we’re very disappointed.
