   We had a nice time and nice dinner. We love the lounge dining as a change of pace vs. the more typical dining out experience. Glad to see that they kept some of our favorites on the new menu - but we will miss some of the options that were retired. The recently remodeled spaces are very well done!

   Loved the experience, ambiance, and drinks. Food was good, but a bit pricey for what you ordered: $18 for a hamburger that was medium- sized with a handful of fries was not what was expected.

   This new side of the old Jack’s / Equus had excellent service and a different atmosphere. This was a change from Equus which had a broader menu as this was all small plates. I think I liked the old menu better.

   The service was excellent, the food was good. But pretty pricey. It didn’t help that it was their first week and there was still construction going on outside, tables/decorations still being setup while we were eating. Not what you would expect for a high end meal. Love the idea of the hidden speakeasy areas and that will be a big hit.

   We were placed in the back room and they forgot about us. Not sure what went wrong with the reservation- I specifically reserved and requested the bar area in advance. After an hour, and one drink, we asked for our check and left. Very disappointing experience overall.

   We are frequent diners here and always have a great experience. They recently remodeled and have changed the menu. Not as many choices and although the food was pretty good it was definitely not the quality we are used to.

   Very poor service. The website was very misleading, we tried to book a reservation for the speak easy but it wasn’t an option so we got booked for lounge dining. I tried to call the restaurant but got no answer. When we got there we were told the Speak Easy was booked up so we didn’t get to experience it at all. We will not be returning

    From the time we knocked on the door until we left, it was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing. The drinks were spectacular. Austin was absolutely the best bartender ever!!!! Will definitely be back.

    We waited over 15 minutes before we had to flag down a waitress to take our drink order. Once she recognized we were there, she was accommodating. There was a 5 course prix fixed menu because it was Derby weekend, we didn’t mind that but the food was very average.

    Went Derby weekend, pre fixe meal was incredible, every course was fabulous. The seared scallop over puréed purple potatoes was divine. We paired a lovely red wine with the meal, including the perfectly cooked Filet. Great atmosphere and outstanding service!

    We arrived early and sat at the bar. We had great drinks and wish we stayed. We then were brought to the back through the bookshelf. We were put in a crappy back storage room. Given a menu with a ton of typos and served crappy drinks. We were the only people in the back room. We asked multiple times to move. We were told they were full. Finally the nice man who brought us in moved us to the main area. There were like three available areas. I guess we were put in the storage area because we weren’t ordering dinner. We were not impressed with anything here other than the main bar. This is not a real speakeasy. The drinks were not well made and the experience was garbage.

    Wasn’t informed of the fixed menu until we arrived. Couldn’t cancel due to the $50 reservation fee. Weren’t asked how we wanted our steaks prepared and they were overdone. Dessert tasted like the box it came in. Service was pleasant. Bathrooms weren’t well constructed or maintained. Concept seems good, overpriced for what was delivered.

    Atmosphere wonderful, food delicious as always. However, our waiter was overbearing. Arrogant and did not fit with mood of the place. We have been there several times and were most disappointed in sharing it with out of town guests.

    We had drinks and appetizers in the Black Rabbit Speakeasy and then dinner at Equus and the wait staff, drinks and food were all amazing. We can’t wait to go back!

    We were felt welcomed. Most authentic entrance to a speakeasy we have ever experienced. Food was excellent. Good drink varieties - very customized. Austin was really good - but, he could have used a little more help. He was trying to be connected with every table, but hard to with only one waiter/bartender. Also, we were told our table had been reserved after ours and we had a time limit. Otherwise, a good experience.

    Went for wife’s birthday, was amazing. We sat back in the corner and had the place to ourselves. I got the Shrimp and Grits and could not have been happier. Fantastic! The drinks were good and the setting was awesome. Will be back for sure!

    We went with another couple and from the moment we got our first cocktail (2 tasted off and 1 came wrong) the service was just ok, apps were decent , but the main course was the biggest disappointment. The mushroom risotto, special tasted like the mushrooms had gone bad, there was a very bitter vinegar taste that was unpalatable. The chicken tacos were OK but they were very heavy handed on the hot sauce so again they were hard to eat. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and the flavors were good. The texture was really off, it was more like grits soup, very runny.We wont be heading back there any time soon.

    Very cool speakeasy with great ambience. Drinks and small bites were delicious. We didn't order any entrees. Only thing I would note is that if there is a time limit to the seating/reservation to say so at the beginning so that people know how long they have to hang out, rather than getting told "hey, we have another reservation soon for this table" while we are sitting there.

    First time and mentioned it was our anniversary. Server nice but spent much more time with groups of young ladies than asking us if we needed anything. Hard to eat a normal dinner bending over a coffee table so we just did apps. Two good one tuna dish not so good. Tuna wasn’t raw but seared and over cooked. A bit rubbery. I think if you just wanted to have drinks and a small snack it would be fun but not for dinner.

    What a difference a couple weeks makes! Sherman Lewis and his team personally executed a fabulous evening for my friends. They literally didn’t miss a beat. Outstanding food, impeccable and attentive service. Very confident that Equs and Jack’s will return to being our favorite Friday night place to go!     I ate at Equs on 4/5/23. The chicken was crispy & tasty! I got Brussels sprouts instead of the cooked kale. Yum! The chocolate mousse cake was good. Kate was very nice. The disappointment of the evening, was the strawberry salad! It was good, but only had 1 strawberry sliced!!! 😞

    The first time there we were seated in the main area and lots of candles and great dim lighting and way fun, nice, cozy. This 2nd time we were in an "overflow" room which felt more like a converted basement. Not nearly the cool vibe and ambiance. The staff was as great as before and cocktails and food awesome.

    I went with some girlfriends to celebrate 2 birthdays. We have never been to a speakeasy and it was so much fun. Our waiter, Austin was terrific. We never felt rushed. The drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts were all wonderful. Portions were ample. I would definitely recommend...in fact while we were there, we booked another reservation.
