Overall underwhelmed. Table we sat at was cracked (cracked granite). We came because of the dinner special which just disappeared off the menu that day. Market price steak wasn’t good and was $55. The potatoes were so salted I basically couldn’t eat them. Broccolini was under cooked. Waiter was good and knowledgeable, but ambience and food was sub par

Great Graduation dinner place, swordfish fish and pork tenderloin special were memorable as were the red pepper grits from the scallop dish, tres leches carrot cake was a big hit ! House cocktails provided variety great flavors.

The food was good! Not amazing, but good. The service was slow, but they were busy so we can understand waiting at times. One of my drinks was not good and I had to send it back, but our other cocktails were good. WWE was playing on the TV which felt like an odd choice but it was honestly entertaining and funny. Overall the experience was good. My only real complaint is that we were at the very last table in the back next to the stairs and the sound of stomping people up and down the stairs was a bit obnoxious to listen to. I would recommend not sitting there if you have a choice.

Our server Johnathon (Jon) was great. Curated the experience well. The food was over the top and is our “go-to” restaurant when in Ann Arbor.

Not crazy about the new menu. Miss the clam chowder, and the shareable tuna appetizer and guacamole appetizer. So happy you still have fish tacos. Server and bartender were exceptional- bartender made me a Black Pearl favorite of mine - a caipirinha. Server had a great demeanor and sense of humor. Love the window table.

Fish tacos, swordfish and scallops with grits are a must have. My fiber partners thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I was disappointed in mine. I ordered the lobster rolls. The meat was all minced up and overly laden with mayonnaise. Never did get a lobster chunk, just a lot of stingy pieces. Also the fried leeks were burnt and threw off the dish. I would not recommend this entree. The sidewinder fries were very good though. Also our server, Jonathon (I believe that’s was his name, blonde with glasses) was absolutely a gem. Would I go back, absolutely. Would I get lobster rolls, absolutely not.

This is our third time visiting Black Pearl, our favorite date night destination. Too loud in the restaurant but we love the greenhouses, perfect for a romantic dinner, cozy lighting and a speaker to play the music of your choice from your iPhone. Food has been wonderful each time we’ve visited, everything has been well prepared and flavorful. Fun cocktail ideas. Waitstaff have been great. Highly recommend.

Several new dishes on the menu, but don't worry - they kept the fish tacos! Terrific service, fantastic food and wine, and great ambiance. One of our favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor.
