Black Pearl Ann Arbor
Dinner was great, a little noisy, difficult to carry a conversation at times. Good was very good. Definitely worth a visit, wouldn't object to going back.
The food was good, but our waiter, Katrina, was so apathetic. Cold greetings, not very friendly, not super knowledgeable about food.
The Bread Situation:
She continually brought us bread, which we appreciated, until the bill came and she charged us a significant amount. The problem wasn't that she charged us. The problem was she never informed us. When we asked he to take it off she was rude and refused. Another waiter offered to take if off for us and, again, she refused. After, she didn't talk to us for the rest of the night. Not sure why she couldn't just take it off. [FYI: Bread is not on the menu]
A perfect night ruined over some bread.
Our Anniversary dinner and it was wonderful. Thank you so much for accommodating us for the patio seating. Felt like we had the best table in the house. Food was incredible as always.
We caught Restaurant Week at the Black Pearl, it was wonderful.
Fish tacos go $18 that are supposed to be the specialty were disappointing. I would much rather have the $10 fish tacos at World if Beers
thanks to Restaurant Week, we decided to eat at the Black Pearl. We were not disappointed and will return.
Awesome as always
Excellent food especially the shrimp guacamole! Martinis are delicious!
We came to celebrate a Birthday. Everything was great!! Service and food could not have been better. Thanks for the good time
Fish tacos, consistently good. Apple caramel Salmon also flavorful. Service was cheery and responsive, but not crowding. Slow Sunday evening made for a fairly quiet night, but when full, it can be loud.
Food is consistently great and we love the atmosphere. Had a great time celebrating a birthday and received wonderful service as well. Black Pearl is always a favorite!
We enjoyed our dinner, but did not find it to be exceptional. We will give it one more try and decide then if we'll return again.
Terrific food and the patio seating / atmosphere was great - perfect summer dining spot!
Excellent as always! Had the Red Snapper Special and it was outstanding and needs to be a staple on the menu. Fish tacos are always a great call as well. It can be a bit pricy with beverages, but the gotta love the downtown A2 scene.
The best pork chop I have had in recent memory. Other main course meals were also very good. Seafood in delicious presentations. Bar drinks very creative. Recommend for special small group occasions.
Great evening...prelude to a concert. Got the evening off to a great start. Host attentive to our interest, staff very professional, friendly without being intrusive, and open to request. Attentive to water and beverage needs and special request.
Nice night. Food was excellent and well prepared. Different and delicious.
We celebrated my best friends 22nd birthday and had one of the best dining experiences ever. Everyone was kind and helpful.
Food was great! A great place to spend Mother’s Day!
Another great meal
We have dined at the Black Pearl several times and it never lets us down. The martinis are creative and delicious...Grapefruitini, Nutty Alexander, Cajun Corpse Reviver. The food is amazing, with a good variety and plenty of flavor. Highly recommend!!
Always good food and good service. Easy downtown AA eatery.
First time at the Black Pearl after walking by about 100 times and saying "we need to try that place sometime". Glad we finally did. Food/service/ambience are great. Sat at the window area (which was open because it was finally nice enough outside). Great place to people watch.
Can't wait to go back and sit outside this summer, because we will definitely be back!
Cocktails and food were outstanding. Popular place on a Friday night so reservations recommended.
We love black pearl. It’s our sexiest go-to date spot.
The Fish Tacos are Yummy! Everything we had was very, very tasty! The service was great and the management was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this dining experience. A little pricey but worth the experience.
Really enjoyed our meals (Carmel apple salmon, half chicken and s’mores & ice cream). The service was great.
Really good food and service. Friday nights are loud and lively! Not a good place if you want to have a quiet conversation or talk business. The back room is a bit more quiet. Request the back room if easy conversation is your goal.
Amazing service, drinks & food! Fun pre-grad vibe!
Consistently good food
Great burgers and fish tacos
Love the Ann Arbor Cosmo drink!
Table was ready when we arrived. Food was delicious, the service was great and the portions were good.
Overall great meal. Ambiance was a little loud but there was a sporting event on TV. Matthias our server was great and made some excellent suggestions.
It was amazing! The food was great, serve prompt, and staff were friendly
Fish tacos are great, give them a try. Drinks were average
We dined at 7:00 and the place was quite full, energetic but not too loud. Our food, especially the East Coast oysters and the swordfish, was delicious. The fish tacos, raved about in a few other reviews, were in our opinion good enough to try again some day but not good enough to rave about. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs without being intrusive. Will be back again.
The fish tacos and coconut shrimp were very good
Best swordfish my husband ever had, very fresh! Fish tacos, the house specialty, were excellent.
The service was excellent. They brought my husband the wrong meal but they were all over it. It was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. The food is fabulous. Five stars all around.
Placed a reservation 4 days in advance, still waited over 45 minutes for a table that night. Good food with moderately sized proportions, but poor service
