   Received a call 40 minutes before our reservation that they gave our table for 2 to a larger party and we would have to sit at the bar. Not good for 2 old people who had knee and hip surgery less than a year ago. Service was great. My wife’s fish was a little to salty, my shrimp tacos were good, but would have been better if they were on flour tortillas, the corn tortillas fall apart when you pick them up

   We had a wonderful experience at brunch on Memorial Wknd. The only reservation available was at the bar, we enjoyed chatting to the bartender she was very knowledgeable and helpful with both drink & menu options. We had the Sunday Funday Chicken & French toast. The fried chicken breast was moist and flavorful. Fried perfectly and not greasy. French toast was delicious together a great combo. Also had the crab cake eggs Benedict, fantastic! Very enjoyable time.

   It was my five year wedding anniversary and we were treated so poorly. The waitress ignored us constantly, we waited over 30 minutes to order. The waitresses skipped our table several times. Our water was empty and got no refill. The food took over an hour to get. The service was absolutely horrible. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are several options in Port A and this restaurant is one to skip for sure. Such a terrible restaurant.

   Love having this place on the resort grounds. Filet was badly over cooked as were the grits. However, the grouper and redfish were very good.

   Our server was not very pleasant and attentive. She was rude and had very rude responses to our questions concerns and requests. The ambience was good, the food was delicious. If it wasn’t for the waitress service, this probably would get a 5 star review.

   Hostess...always seems exhausted...must be crowd control. But the hostess is there to greet and deliver the wait with a smile no matter how tough things get. The bartenders are awesome and always very engaging. The chef or the person who delivers the food always looks like she is not happy and would prefer to be anywhere but working. The food is great if you can get past the hostess, a long wait even with a reservation, and the food delivery person who has never delivered food with a smile or a pleasant disposition.

    Sat at the bar and had some really good food, from the drinks, to the salads, to our fish and shrimp 'n grits - everything was really good and the price is fair. Colby (sp?) our bartender was outstanding!! We'll be back soon.

    We had a lovely birthday lunch here for my daughter! The food was amazing and the staff was so helpful. With food allergies, sometimes people are overwhelmed, but they did everything to make sure to accommodate our needs. The drinks were also incredible!

    The place continues to disappoint but nothing as bad as our last visit. Served raw steak then warmed up and tasted like rubber. Fish was average but overcooked so dry and chewy.

    When we arrived we were told we would be seated at the bar even though I didn’t make reservations for bar seating. I reserved a table. Basically they said Too Bad we are all ready booked. They then said we could eat outside and order at the bar which we did. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees and they brought out ALL the food at once! Horrible service but I guess they are lucky to have servers at all.

    The Black Marlin is a restaurant at Palmilla Beach Golf resort. There’s a lot golfers here and it’s next to an outdoor bar called Reds. There’s seniors and families with children. It’s a very friendly place and not terribly noisy. We had grilled grouper, and shrimp and grits, which were excellent. It’s nice because it’s not the typical beach restaurant which only serves fried fish and shrimp. Recommended.

    We had a 4:30 pm reservation for 8. when we arrived there were only a few tables seated. We ordered drinks and food; we were served our dinner about 5:40 pm. Received two checks without being asked what we wanted; it included a thirty percent gratuity. No pre-notice; didn’t see a manager. Bartender was exceptionally nice and helpful and the food pretty good.

    We ate there a couple time on our trip down for the weekend. The food was great and the service was friendly. We had our 11 month old with us and they were very accommodating so families of all ages should try this out. My favorites were the grouper dinner and fish tacos. Don't skip apps...the crab cake and calamari were fresh and delicious. Dang, I'm getting hungry again!

    Good food and our bartender did an excellent job! We did eat at the bar as they were booked full with table reservations! My wife had shrimp tacos and I had the shrimp and grits both were fantastic! Drinks were unique and very tasty we had the Woodford Reserve Walnut Old Fashions!     It’s a small place with a very basic layout. Bunch of tables laid out around a small room. We made a reservation and were given a table 2 feet from the entrance door! Throughout our dinner we had guests standing by our table and had to deal with a draft constantly as they kept opening the door. A simple glass wall by the door would have solved the problem. Food was alright. Service sparse and slow. I would say just another restaurant t with nothing really setting it apart

    Fries were cold. Burger underwhelming. Service was border line unfriendly. Our table wasn’t bussed properly. Dirty appetizer dish sat in front of us for far too long. New management? Black marlin used to be MUCH better.

    I had made a reservation for our anniversary dinner and had asked for a quiet table - instead we were placed right by the bar and it was soooo noisy with folks drinking at the bar watching golf - very disappointed plus there were plenty of empty tables when we arrived - we wanted to change midstream but that would have been rude to our waitress who was very accommodating and gave us good service The steak was over cooked but salad was excellent

    We made reservations to dine at the Black Marlin Bar & Grill our last night in Port Aransas. Arriving early, we were seated within minutes and our server came promptly and was attentive to our needs throughout. I ordered the fish tacos, choosing the blacken Mahi for my seafood, and my husband ordered the blacken Redfish, both entrees were cooked to perfection. We topped off the evening sharing a delicious slice of carrot cake. The atmosphere of the bar and grill was dress casual, and the prices were very reasonable. Was overall and very enjoyable place to have delicious food. Will definitely go again!

    Food was ok, but over-priced. Service was fair. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and only the hostess said Happy Birthday, Server never acknowledged the birthday. Very slow, even though there were only 7 people in the restaurant. Rather expensive considering the food served.

    I had to fill in all of the stars to be able to write a review but we did not eat here. I had reserved a standard seating and when we arrived, the hostess lead us to the bar. I told her what I had reserved and she stated that she was taking me to where the computer told her to. When I asked if we could get a table, she said they had all been reserved and there was nothing she could do. I wasn't impressed with how she handled it, and there was no effort to resolve the issue other than to seat us where we didn't want to be.

    It was disappointing to see a couple of chef Gail’s original signature dishes discontinued from the menu. The menu appears to be designed to be easier on the establishment, understandable, but the effort put into the previous menu’s dishes is what put this restaurant on the map.

    Food was under par from what we were told by friends. Shrimp and fish seemed to be from frozen foods. Very disappointing on the gulf. Servers was not friendly and seemed to be preoccupied and put out that there were a few tables of diners.

    Staff let parents and kids sit at bar should be for adults only who want to purchase drinks. Kids running around like it was McDonalds. Food was good as usual. Very limited menu. Small wine list. A few girls walked through restaurant in bikinis to get to a restroom. Not pleasant dinner ambiance.
