The steak, salmon, and fresh veggies were wonderful.
We always enjoy the Black Hat for a 'get-away' meal. The food never disappoints. The service is always just rght.
It was great, lived in Colorado all my life and never been there. No one in our party had ever been there. Was my husbands 71st birthday. Fabulous and will go again.
The Food, Décor, Service were very good. However the bar scene completely ruined the evening. The bar was full of locals using the F bomb and constant cussing and very loud. I was looking forward to dining at Black Hat but the local bar scene was so bad I would not return.
Delicious dry aged steaks, fun music and art work - the restaurant has many Bev Doolittle pictures that are very interesting, and the staff is very friendly and helpful with the menu. A great experience - make the short drive to Kittredge.
Terrific as usual! Our favorite foothills "steakhouse" for special occasions.

Just a nice, unpretentious place to grab a great steak with the family. Not the place for fast or "fancy", but just right for the family on a Saturday night.
Never a disappointment
This is our second time to dine at the Black Hat, and both times have been outstanding.
Our server was lovely and very attentive. She was professional and knew the menu. We were able to talk and even had her turn down the volume on the music a little. food was very good.
The food, atmosphere, and service were all superb, as always!
We have gone to many of the Restaurant Week locations and this is the best by far, not only for what you get for the price, the steaks are wonderful, but what is included in that price!
We tried this restaurant because it was local and had great reviews. We enjoyed every bit of the experience and the food was amazing! Steaks were cooked perfectly to order - a serious bonus in my book! They also had a Tomahawk steak on special... OMG! Not only did I get to enjoy every bite, but my three dogs did as well! They even got to gnaw on that delicious bone for a few hours. I know I won't need a special occasion to make my way back to feast!
We have been eating at Black Hat Cattle for years. We had the best meal that we have ever eaten there or anywhere else in Evergreen on Friday Night. We had the mixed fish combo on the Early Dining 3 course Menu. There are also beef options.

We really enjoyed our early dining experience at the Black Hat Cattle Company with our friends. Going before 6pm gives the diner the option of a 3 course menu for $32 (obviously price can vary, so check before you book). The Onion Rings were the best I have had, the dressing on the salad was delicious. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the dessert was lovely too. Overall fabulous experience with excellent service and we will be going again.
Everything about this place is amazing. Feels like you’re dining in the old west yet somehow you are home.
A mountain steakhouse with delicious steaks and a good wine list. The creamed spinach had a bit too much cream and not enough spinach, but the onion rings were very good. Both the bone-in and regular ribeyes were very good.
The food is never a disappointment. This is a pricey place, but we cannot do without the shrimp cocktail with spicy sauce, or the Caesar salad (best I've ever found), or the quality cuts of beef. We always think of Black Hat first for any special occasion. Only thing we can even hope for improvement in is the side vegetables. Great dinner--always returning.
I am av vegetarian and they made me a great pasta dish. My partner had a great steak. The Black Hat is a fantastic place.

Best steak around! Dry aged Kansas City Strip was amazing and you have to get the creamed corn!
We all had deilicious frest steaks and wonderful vegetable medley. Aislynn was our server and totally awesome!
Visited Black Hat with a friend. We had the dry aged bone-in Cowboy ribeye, it was delicious. Our server explained the process to us and said that Black Hat has been dry aging their steaks in-house for over a year. The dry aged steaks are a little more money, but so worth the price.
We enjoyed the old country music, and the Bev Doolittle prints that are all around the restaurant. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant.

Ordered my steak well done and said I didn't want ANY red at all, and it came to me fairly rare. Had to send it back for more cooking. Very small portions for the high price. In my opinion it was very pricey for what you get.
We have been here before and will always find a reason to go back -- no special reason required.
I have been there on several occasions and the service is hands-down one of the best. And the food is absolutely what you would expect from a good steakhouse.
We've dined at Black Hat since 2009 and generally have enjoyed our meals. We asked our server the price of the Cowboy Drumstick special and she failed to tell our guest. I later found the special on my receipt at $65. That's a bit ' too pricey' compared to other menu offerings.
We spent New Year's Eve with friends at the Black Hat Cattle Co. This was not our first time there, we enjoy the friendly atmosphere, good food and service. With all the restaurants available to us in Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Denver, we chose the Black Hat Cattle Company for our special dinning experiences even though we drive all they way from Colorado Springs.
Our dinner was absolutely wonderful. My dinner (Filet medallions w/béarnaise sauce) was extremely tender and flavorful. We were a party of 6 and we could actually have a conversation. It was noted by one of our friends how the noise level was extremely low. .....considering it was New Years Eve and the restaurant was full. Although Black Hat is quite the distance from where we all live....it certainly was worth the ride. Our server Jason was excellent. I loved the fact that my wine glass was in the appropriate glass and filled practically to the top as requested. We will certainly come back and look forward to our next visit.
We celebrated our 26th anniversary there last week. It was our first time but it won't be our last!
We have usually had good experiences but the steaks this time were dreadful. Sides still very good.
We celebrated our anniversary. We wanted an unhurried dining experience and that is what Kelly, our server, provided. Her personable service actually added to the occasion. The steaks and sides were perfectly prepared.
