I loved black eyed Sally’s it was great, the food the service the energy perfect. I will say though I know it’s known for its live performances I think some breaks could be implemented. Sometimes while eating you wanna have a conversation with your friends and can barely hear one another
I was glad that we made a reservation. The restaurant was packed. The vibe and ambience is second to none. The food was maybe a touch over seasoned but I’m nit picking. Great mixed drinks and great service
Arrived and was seated immediately. Order was taken within a few minutes. Every 10 minutes were we’re told it would be a few more minutes and the kitchen was slammed. Were were in town for an event that started at 7p. Waited 45 minutes and no food was delivered. We asked if we should cancel our order and we were told by the waiter that he would check on the order. After 5 more minutes and the waiter did not return, we put down a small tip and left. I have eaten here at least a dozen times over the past year. Waited 45 minutes and was repeatedly told it would be a few more minutes.
Very good BBQ, tender meats, outstanding rice and red beans. Excellent BBQ sauce at the table.
Delicious food and fun atmosphere
Went for the food so the music was a great surprise excellent open mike blues night. The grits and shrimp to
The waitress was very attentive, the food was good. The atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. I can't wait to go back and try another meal from the menu. ❤❤
the only complaint is the waitress seemed preoccupied with something other than helping our table...it took twice to order our first drinks. Literally we cornered her when we ordered our meals...AFTER we already ate our apps (without drinks)....as if she didn't want us to have them...we tried 2x but she would run away b4 we could stop her to ask...very strange
I always love going to Black -Eyed Sally's. Just fun!
Great southern comfort food and live entertainment if you catch it on the right night. Their specialty cocktails are delightful and the artwork on the walls is spectacular
The atmosphere was good and the food is amazing. Will return again
Forgot part of our meal. Waitress carried out our food my sandwich bun was actually balanced on her chest area. Won’t go back
Stopped in on the way to New England. Really nice staff who seated us right away. Waiter knew how to make the table feel comfortable. nice Jazz music in a New Orleans ambience. Good rhythm to the music and the crowd.
Food was dry, especially the brisket which is one of their specialties
The food was very good and the waitress was pleasant.
Serata con musica dal vivo inaspettata. Cibo gradevole con un ottimo corn bread . La jambalaya era superba! Sicuramente un locale dove tornare se mai dovessi venire ancora ad Hartford!
Food was delicious. Service wasn’t good. Took awhile for a waitress and then took a long time to cash me out that she forgot she had my card.
Always a great time at Sally's! Great food, great music, great fun!
Visited for 2018 Hartford Restaurant Week. They did not disappoint!
The last three times I’ve been, the brisket and St. Louis ribs have dry and awful.
My wife will never go there again.
Pre concert dinner. Pretty crowded, quite noisy. Waitress was pleasant and cheerful but harassed by some patrons, unfortunately. Food was okay, not a wide variety. Would eat there again.
I was very disappointed. I went for restaurant week and made a reservation as suggested. I had been on the restaurant website to check it out, the restaurant week page listing the restaurants participating and menus, and I made a reservation on open table. No Where Did It Say they would not offer the restaurant week menu on Wednesday evening. I made a reservation for Wednesday at 6:00 pm and we showed up. The table was ready and we sat down. The menu presented to us was not a restaurant week menu, nor was it the regular menu, but an abbreviated menu. I asked the waitress if this was restaurant week and if they were participating. She said yes, and yes, but the restaurant week menu was not available that evening until after 7:30 pm. Apparently there was an event, so no restaurant week. The abbreviated menu looked much like the main entrees from restaurant week, just without the appetizer and dessert. We ordered and were told corn bread would be right out. 20 minutes later the waitress slid 2 pieces of cornbread on the table as she passed by. No drink refills, no words, just a drop off on the way past. We waited over an hour for our meals and were not offed drink refills or visited by the waitress. The person who delivered our food was not our waitress and dropped and left. The food was mediocre, not very warm and certainly nothing to come back for. There are much better places to eat. Skip this place.
The Bar BQ was excellent. The staff was very accommodating. The music was awesome -- Saw Michael Palin's Other Orchestra -- pretty fabulous, especially for a weeknight.
Love this place but the service and food was just s bit disappointing. The pulled pork was dry with some burnt ends and had to ask the waitress twice to bring water to the table. However I will go back.
We went for dinner just before a concert and though it was very busy, they seated us right on time and both the parking and venue were so convenient! The food was tasty, great pulled pork and just the right amount of spice and the atmosphere and service were both warm and lively! Go and enjoy!! : ))
hubby and I made an early reservation here before the Eagles concert Oct-18. The gumbo was absolutely perfect. We shared a couple of apps and had a couple cocktails, everything was delicious and service was great!
If you want a taste of Southern food in Hartford, Black-Eyed Sally’s is the place to go. They also serve up good brews and on select nights, blues. It is good home-cooking, ample portions and reasonable prices make it worth the trip. I recommend the catfish fingers and pulled pork. Thank you Carolyn for your attentive service!
Early evening before dinner rush. Cool decor
Great food great music and more important the waitress was amazing as always
Black-Eyed Sally’s was fabulous. We felt like we were back in New Orleans or Savannah with the great southern food. Gumbo and jambalaya was outstanding. Cool vibe inside with all the art work inside. You gotta try this place if in Hartford CT.
The Chicken and waffles was awesome. Enjoyed the Blues band as well.
They do a nice job of providing well-curated and produced live music.
Great food and service with excellent music !!
We were staying in the hotel next door and noticed this restaurant. We made a reservation on Open Tabke. We were promptly seated. The waitress was attentive, efficient and checked on us frequently. The restaurant art work was wonderful and the ambience is great. The food was delivered promptly and was delicious. I would highly recommend Black Eyed Sally’s
Was in town for Farm Aid and I'm originally from CT. BES was a favorite place of mine years ago and it's been a long time since I've been there. Brought my 10 year old son and met my brother and his girlfriend (who is in a wheelchair). Food was awesome, service was awesome and the bank was great! BES didn't disappoint. I would definitely try to get back there again when I'm in town again.
I can't say enough about this place. From the time we arrived on the first stop, to the amazing staff accommodating me on the 2nd visit. Food was outstanding and plenty in portion size.
Elton John show, quick service, good food, good drinks
We made reservations for dinner and some drinks before a concert. The service was good but slow as it was very crowded. We had to wait a while for drink and refils. The food was good and fast once we were able to order.
Have come here many times. It is a live music venue and is loud and boisterous; Not a place for a quiet dinner. The Southern/Cajun focused menu is well done and dependably solid. The band was great. Looks like they have had some turnover in the waitstaff, service was not as good as usual. But not terrible....
