   The food was amazing as usual. Our server Jordan was very attentive but didn’t rush us. We enjoyed a nice anniversary meal at the black cow! Highly recommend the mushroom sandwich on the menu. It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time!

   This is one of my go-to spots in Newburyport. Reliably tasty. Solid sushi - my favorites are the Tenmini Roll and Rock and Roll. A couple favorite apps are the bang bang shrimp and the cauliflower.

   The menu is sort of ho-hum (but we knew that going in). Somehow we didn’t see the sushi menu and kind of wish we had. The waiter was good — efficient, not overly friendly. The hostess gets a shout out as my friend left her sunglasses behind and the hostess went to the length to call us, just as we realized we’d left the glasses behind. Thank you Hostess!

   This was my first time at the Black Cow and I doubt I will go back. We were seated in the room with the sushi bar, which was almost empty. We were seated at a booth next to a group of people that were there just to drink. They were so loud, obnoxious and drunk. My son, who is 10, was sitting next to me and several times I had to let him know I could not hear him because of the people in the next booth. The food was good, but overpriced. The waitress was very nice and attentive.

   We have been customers of the black cow for years, both here and the one in HW, and it feels like they have really hit their stride recently. We have a number of favorite items on the menu which have always been done perfectly— the cauliflower app and the sushi are highlights. The drinks are great. And the service is wonderful too. The manager went out of his way to reassure us that it was OK that we lingered and continued chatting long after we finished our meal. He kept refilling our waters, and giving a friendly chat when many other places seem to rush us out the door by 9 PM anymore.

   First time at restaurant and a very nice experience. A good menu food was cooked well, friendly waitstaff, good price point no issues. I often judge cleanliness by the condition of the rest room which was excellent. It is often an area that is neglected and it is refreshing to see management commitment to running a clean establishment. I will return again.

    Very relaxing atmosphere and wonderful waitstaff. We are always happy to enjoy a comfortable night out here. Food? Is a little over priced for what you get. Presentation is good? But could be far better…..I ordered the special swordfish entree which was priced at 49$. The swordfish was very good and perfect size at 8 oz. Asparagus was cooked very well. However, they threw whole fingerling potatoes that were either microwaved or boiled onto the plate. No spices, no sauce, and literally had no taste. I mentioned to the waitress, who was wonderful, chef should have split them and pan roasted them. So for the money? Wasn’t worth it. My husband had the chicken sandwich and enjoyed it.
