   We were a large group of out of towners and we had a great meal. Staff is younger but they are nice folks that answered all our questions. Food is pretty solid. Ambiance is varied as they have multiple seating areas. Enjoyed it.

   We really enjoyed our vegan burgers at Black Bear Bistro. We normally get vegan pizza, which is fantastic. Went out on a limb and tried their burger. Yum!!!!! Will be back soon.

   We arrived about 20 minutes prior to our reservation and waited as several employees walked past us. We were greeted and I explained I had made a reservation for 6 on the patio. The young lady spoke to another employee and then told us they could not take the reservation because it was First Friday. My son correctly summed that up by stating you won’t honor the business in hopes of other business. We had to be seated inside. Waitress a

   This was the first time the three of us had been to the Black Bear Bistro. All of us were impressed with the food and service. The macaroni and shrimp appetizer was great and loved the burgers. Definitely look forward to going back.

   I requested a quiet private space and instead was sat next to a very active and loud child. We were served water with no ice, no lemon, no straws after waiting for 20 min at our table. We frequent the bistro often and typically have had a pleasant experience. This was beyond sub par. A disinterested server, unnecessary wait time at our table. When I asked for a lemon a third time I was brought a lemon on a napkin.

   I am indifferent on the referral. The food is great, the ambiance is decent, except it gets too loud. We asked to be seated downstairs because in past times we were here it was always a little more romantic, but there was a very loud family in the room with kids screaming and our table was basically in the doorway and my husbands chair kept getting kicked by one of the waiters. The service was absolute crap. Very slow and forgetful...it was a bit disappointing.

   We’ve been to BBB several times and the food has always been phenomenal. However our most recent visit was absolutely terrible due to the awful service. Our appetizer was brought out AFTER our entrees, and our entrees were brought out one at a time, about 10 minutes apart from each other (there were three of us). Each time we tried to get our server’s attention she would make excuses “sorry, they’re coming from two different kitchens” and then rush away before we could respond. We ordered refills and never received them, even though they still charged me for 2 beers when I only actually received one. Her response - “sorry the bartender usually brings it out for me” ... well what about the other non alcoholic drinks?? She just rushed off again and we finally had to find her to get the check so we could just leave. The food we ordered was great as always but they really need to hire better trained staff.
