We are located inside the O Hotel
Limited servers kept our server very busy we always had empty drinks looking for server to get refills and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The food doesn’t have a lot of flavor. Said it was prime rib and it wasn’t mostly fat throughout the whole steak. The best thing on menu was the French fries. Was a very upsetting experience but the ambiance of the place is very nice.
I ended up here with 5 other family members after a Saturday Ahmanson matinee. Great find with availability to sit our group AND it was Happy Hour! The cocktails were perfect. All the food was really superb! We were all very impressed with the staff too - very friendly, attentive yet relaxed and very sweet! We will definitely be back again. Loved it!
Enjoyed our lunch there. Wish there was one more person on staff there, but overall, a great meal--good flavors and combinations. Seating is a little funky with either high tables or low tables, nothing really in between if you are in a party of more than 2 people. Didn't check out upstairs though.
Weirdly quiet/empty but good food!
Really great options and low priced Happy Hour! Cool space. Construction next door at moment, so a little more difficult to find with awning blocking entry, but hardly a big deal just an FYI and not at all noticeable once inside.
I went during lunch with my coworkers. Loved the food and the service was outstanding!
The food was pretty good, nothing specials. However, the service was terrible. The bartenders were working as the waiters as well. They forgot an order, food came out late, and they never asked us how we were.
We were surprised that there was a weekend happy hour. It made us stay about an hour longer than we had planned. The ambiance was amazing! Instead of sitting at a table, we sat on sofas and ottomans around a large coffee table. It felt like we were in our home just catching up with friends.
It was an amazing experience.
Thank you open table for the recommendation.
Hard to locate due to construction. The temporary sign is hanging on construction site.
Cool vibe and seems like a great place for happy hour.
Ate LA Dine week lunch- loved the watermelon feta salad.
The food was very good but I was not happy with limited menu. Not a lot of choices. Heavy on Italian, I would have loved to see some fish on the menu.
We were pleasantly surprised on how good this was. Booked on Open-table based upon prior reviews, however weren’t quite sure what to expect. It was very quite (maybe 3 people) when we arrived (6:15pm) and figured we would give it a try. Food was quite good and we enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend as a casual dinner or a place to hang with some friends. We plan on going back.
We all enjoyed ourselves and the food was excellent. We would certainly come back another time.
The food was super tasty and not skimpy. Tried the kale salad, tater tots, and shrimp & grits. Lemonade to drink. I'll definitely go back.
I enjoyed my service from our bartender Fernando. His drinks and service were great!
We had a great time. We were able to pick any table we wanted and as we sat down at the table, a server was at our table taking our drink orders. I highly recommend the Mezza trio, it was super yummy. We also had the Merguez Flatbread which was spicy and filling. The atmosphere was casual and easy going.
The cocktail prices were very reasonable, service was great, and food was tasty. The dining room was empty, though which was weird considering how good the food was. Also had an amazing live acoustic music set.
My husband and I were impressed with the apps, but found the service to be kind of bizarre and my short rib ravioli entree was pretty inedible. Great deal on happy hour though.
The servers asked if they could take our menus (before we ordered our entrees) and the table next to us wasn’t cleared for at least 20 minutes. We left before they ever fully cleared it.
My husband loved the pork belly tacos and we had a good Mediterranean trio app as well. Would come back for the apps!
Looked for a great place to celebrate my birthday. Opentable convinced me with BKLA with their Monday no corkage ! We get to BKLA and the bar manager states : “just so you know, our corkage fee is $35 a bottle.” I told them that their listing stated no corkage. She replied she would honor it. So we had them open one of the bottles. None of us had reception on our phones and I wanted to check in with a few members with our party that were running late. When we returned, the bar manager stated that she would have to charge $20 for the corkage fee now due to her “conversation with corporate”! But you already opened the bottle!! We tried to swallow that but decided that we would just pay for the appetizers we started with and the corkage fee and go down the street to the other restaurant pick and forgo our meal there. The waitress brings the bill and added 20% gratuity!!! When we complained, the bar managers excuse was that it was corporate telling her what to do and that we didn’t order anything. We had already orders appetizers and the reason we stopped there was because they charged us for the corkage! This place is a joke and they ruined a perfectly good birthday. If you’re looking for a great time, this is NOT your place. Avoid this place ! They’re liars and scammers.
Food was good, hostess seemed pretty new. Bartender was mostly attentive. We enjoyed it. It is attached to a hotel, which was interesting. It was definitely loud, folks did feel the need to yell over each other, as fold often do. There was some live music which was nice... the kid was very eager and had some talent if limited range.
Mimoza was epic and Zach and fernando
My experience at bkla was wonderful. Service was prompt and fulfilling.
That day I was planning to watch Lakers game, it took 20 mins to have my first course: a salad. Then I told my waiter, I need to leave soon, please serve my second and third.
Obviously someone don't understand my urgency. Still cost me a long period.
When he served the dessert, I told my waiter I can have the check right now. Another 5 mins, I gave him my credit card. Ok, the longest 10 mins ever, I can't wait, I went to him, he was so confused what I want.
Srsly? I will never go there again.
Great restaurant. They have interesting, tasty dishes and a great drink menu. The ambience of the restaurant is fun; they have different sections of the restaurant that have different feels. The entrance bar area is very lively; there is also an area for couples to sit in low seats; and there is an area for bigger groups to sit on high chairs and they project tv shows onto the wall. Overall fun place.
Great restaurant! Food is tasty and inexpensive. Service was spot on and noise level was fine. Definitely will come back.
Service was friendly and efficient but most of all food was creative, tasty and excellent
Love this place! Really good food and ambiance. Not super loud so you can actually hear yourself talking too!
Service was slow and horrible. We got our happy hour menus taking away when there was still 30 minutes to go. Had to ask for water several times, and flag two other servers since our waitress wasn't even walking by our table. It took us ~2.5 hours to get all our food, and when our dessert finally came, it was melted so it must have been out for a while. There weren't even that many patrons, yet we were still ignored most of the night.
The perfect place to go on a date if you have NO interest in hearing anything your date has to say. The music is so loud you would expect people to be dancing instead of dining. I am afraid the noise level will prevent me from going back.
My fiancé and I brought our parents here for dinner. We had our first date here and also celebrated an anniversary here. Loved the ambiance and vibe. What was cool, was the fact we had the place to ourselves. Our waitress was great, and the food was delicious. We come for the shrimp and grits. So bomb!! I definitely recommend this place! Thanks for the awesome service!!
Short rib ravioli with butternut squash was one of the best dishes I’ve had in my entire life.
Service was poor, considering the cost of the meal. Wait staff forgot to deliver an entree and after two reminders, it came after several guests were finished with their meal. Staff dropped a fork on my jacket, leaving a large oil stain:(
We were Four. We choose to order small plates and share. The Mac n Cheese and the Swiss chard gratin were excellent. The asparagus and burreta and the shishito peppers were very good. The octopus was OK. we each also had soup that was very good. Lentil soup and cauliflower soup.
Stopped in before the game, was looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of Staples Center. So glad we found this place. Food was delicious. would go back.
Service was great and the food was good.
Not many food options.atmosphere and service was good
Had the steak and arugula salad that had a delightful citrus-mustard dressing. A large piece of steak was cut up and then grilled, turning it into crispy huge nuggets of tasty steak. The turkey sandwich was no ordinary one, with its crunchy fresh bun/brioche, flavorful shaved turkey meat, guacamole, lettuce and baby tomatoes.
The dessert was sensational. I don't usually like bread pudding, but on the recommendation of our server, I'm so happy I tasted it. It's the reason I'd come back. However, the service was a bit spotty. My date had a cappuccino and had to ask 3 people for sugar. The dinner was alright, but the dessert made the night.
The dine LA menu was good but the service was what really stood out. The bartender and server really tried to go above and beyond!
