BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse - Tyson's Corner
A wonderful way to celebrate a couple of birthdays.
We showed up at 6:45 pm and the hostess said they were not honoring open table reservations. She explained it would be a 45 minute wait. We eventually were offered a small booth for four. The service was excruciatingly slow especially because we had children with us. The waiter was great and the food was good.
Service was way too slow. Needed to summon waiter many times to remind him of us.
slow service and poor customer service. Waitress couldn't be bothered serving our table, getting us drinks and gave us check even before getting us our food
Our appetizer was overcooked and so was my rib eye.
It looks like....exactly what you'd expect it to look like based on the name....but we really enjoyed the extensive and eclectic menu.
BJs is a fun spot, but to be frank, service is consistently atrocious. I can only recall one time I've been here and my food arrived less than 45 minutes after ordering. On my most recent visit, our food order was placed before 7 PM (happy hour specials), and wasn't delivered until almost an hour later, and only after we asked what was going on with our order. When it arrived, it was all lukewarm and had clearly been sitting under a heating lamp, so I have no idea what the hold up was. Also, when our food finally arrived there was barely room for it on the table because our empty water glasses and appetizer plates from 45 minutes earlier still hadn't be cleared.
I'll be honest, I'll probably be back at some point because their happy hour deals are solid, but I never leave happy about my decision to go.
Excellent!!! Wonderful service, attentive, and professipnal. Great experience
Food was mediocre but dessert was awesome.
Food was very good, waiter forgot the appetizer. We needed a high chair so the restaurant had difficulty finding us a place to sit even though many tables were available. We even had to move after being seated, not very professional.
Excellent from start to finish. Great service by Andy.
Lots of options on the menu, all of them good. Wish there was a way to sample them all.
Good a little pricey for the place.
Servers need more training.
We shared a bunch of appetizers, all were great! The brussel sprouts were surprisingly good, as were the wings!
They ran out of the one thing I wanted and it was not busy. I was a little sad about that, but all in all the atmosphere was cool and there was a large party there celebrating a birthday. I enjoyed it regardless!
Went for dinner with old friends. Very big menu; accommodating and prompt service; moderately noisy but still could talk in a comfy booth; lots of TVs for World Series; better than average selection of healthy stuff interestingly put together; on this weeknight, 1/2 off wine by glass or bottle and $3 shareable deserts (not at all healthy, but yummy!) Quite good value, especially with the weekday discounts.
That menu... So long, so varied...wow.
Good options, great service and though a bit loud, not too loud.
My kids love NY Pizza and had never had deep dish so I took them to BJs. The deep dish pizza was great!! We orders the BJ favorite Light crust fresh tomato and toppings were delicious. We are hard core foodies and we were impressed with the food here at BJs. It was a pleasant surprise. Our children have experienced fine dining since they were babies so I was impressed that they really like a Brewhouse and Bar kind of place.
I had a large service dog with my group (7 of us, in total, excluding the dog) and they put us in a half-circle booth, but we barely had any room. With the service dog crammed beneath us, I had to keep my feet floating in the air because otherwise I would have just been cramming my pup further.
It took my friends a little bit to get sat (about 10 minutes) which was fine, but we are all extremely hungry so I didn't want to have to deal with the hosts having to find us a different table.
I did call the restaurant ahead of time (a handful of hours prior to our arrival) explaining the number in our group and the fact that I was bringing a large service animal with us. They said it would be fine.
Our service was...fine. The server was a bit socially awkward and made comments that while they weren't rude, just rubbed us the wrong way because he was coming off very strong. He was generally very friendly, he just has a very strong personality.
Our server failed to coordinate busing the table on a couple occasions. Our table was already so crammed and we had water, cocktails, appetizers, and our entrees overtaking our table. We piled our dishes at the edge of the table to give the cue they were ready to be picked up. The server was good about making visits to our table, but I never saw him pick up a dish to remove from our table. While I understand there's a team of supporting staff to help bus the table, it was just irritating to see because we were completely crammed.
The server did also forget to bring a side of blue cheese that I had asked for. It wasn't a big deal, but I ended up just saying "feel free to skip the blue cheese" because I was basically done with my meal anyway and ended up eventually preferring a side of ranch dressing, instead.
I have previous serving experience so I'm generally pretty patient when servers drop the ball, however, when I have a unpleasant service experience like I did during this visit, it's just disappointing.
Waiter was incredibly inattentive and slow. Had to be asked / reminded for everything, from plates for our appetizers, cutlery, to bringing our drinks. Food was subpar. Our expectations weren’t all that high given all we were after was an everyday dining place, but even by that low standard it still managed to disappoint!
Service wasn’t that great but food surprised to the upside
Food good. Came out of the kitchen VERY fast. Server very knowledgeable and helpful. Menu maybe too big. Lots of choices
Very small portions for what you pay for
Food was very average without a lot of taste. Had appetizers and a salid
They ran out of some food items and didn’t let us know until the last minute while others were being served. Manager comped our meals, but I won’t go back to that location.
This was my husband and I first time visiting this location and we loved it!! Our waitress Jessica was the best and the food was great too. We have already made plans to return this upcoming weekend.
Easy parking. Great menu and food. Attentive service. Very enjoyable.
The food was interesting, well plated, and very tasty. However, the service was seriously lacking. I didn't get a sense from anyone we interacted with that they understood their job was customer service. The Server was just OK, but she wasn't very attentive. The people that delivered the food acted like they were putting themselves out. They plunked the dishes on the table un-apologetically.
I would try the restaurant again because the food was good and ambiance was good. It may have just been an off day.
The food was great, as always. Our waitress was properly attentive and the manager very helpful.
Was highly disappointed with this restaurant. I previously raved about Bj's due to my one time experience in Gainsville. Took my family to this restaurant and the food wait was super long. Plus, they were out of several items and ice cream desserts. The waiter made the experience somewhat decent. Overall, I will not be returning to this location.
I have to say I was disappointed. I've eaten at BJ's elsewhere in the U.S. and they've been very good. Food seemed like food out of a box and microwaved. Service was not good at all having to asked for drinks, where our food was etc. There were also many complaints around us. The table next us was still waiting on food and they arrived 30 minutes before we did. Food would be brought out and it would be the wrong order. Overall, the restaurant was having problems. Not sure if they were short on wait or cook staff but regardless they were giving lots of free food away to make excuses for there errors.
We went there for mothers day. Had I 5:30pm reservation, we did not get most of our food until 7:30pm. I had to ask for the manager to find out where the rest of our food was. Just on of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
The staff at BJs did a great job accommodating our group of 8. The menu is diverse enough that everyone in our 3-generation group found something to their liking and they even gave the mothers special glasses for Mother's Day. They made it a great experience for our family lunch.
Always very pleased and excited to dine at BJ’s because the service is so good as well as the jambalaya. The hostess at the front desk, unsure of her name Alissa I think, is always so attentive to everyone’s needs and extremely friendly. I thanked her for her service and wish I could do more but she needs a raise. My husband and I love coming to this location really because of her. We’ve been to others it wasn’t the same. We’ll keep coming back again and again.
We went there for my husbands birthday.
One of my favorite restaurants in Tyson’s Corner. I love the cherry chipotle salmon! Lots of screens for watching sports.
BJ’s is always a great place for our date nights. The jambalaya never lets me down. Very spicy and tasty. The evening was fabulous until the waitress inaccurately used our points. It was disappointing however the manager cane to the table and suggested a solution that we agreed on. We can’t get the points back but at least tried to make it right. We’re still loyal customers and will be back again and again.
Our waiter new a lot about the different beers and made good recommendations to us.
I work in Tysons Corner area, but had never been to this place since it opened.
Very nice, open space, with a big elevated bar area and different seating areas around the restaurant. We were there on Wednesday and discovered that that their Loaded Burger choices were $10 and tried the Crispy Jalepeno Burger. I liked it, but did not find it to be spicy at all. Found out 4 hours later that it was slow, in your belly, spice. Not my preference, so I will try something else next time. Friends had the ham and cheese and a salad with gorgonzola cheese, I believe. Both liked their choice very much. I'll come back after tennis soon, to try out some of their beers with the other guys.
I’ve been here several times and the food is good. 10 people in my party and all 10 enjoyed their meal. The only problem is the service is slow. I would expect faster service, especially for lunch, but they are consistently slow. However, the food and prices are good, so if you aren’t in a hurry this is a good place to go.
