BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse - Columbia
We ate at the BJ's Brewhouse in Annapolis, so thought this one would be the same. The food was not as good at this location. The server was very nice and attentive, but the food was not worth it.
We frequent this particular restaurant at least weekly. The guacamole appetizer is plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed the jambalaya and tortilla soup. We noticed new items are added frequently to keep the menu interesting. Service is good, even when crowded. Managers interact with the customers and often deliver food to minimize wait times. Highly recommend this location.
We went for a casual dinner w/ friends. Everything was very pleasant, actually. I would recommend for a nice casual dinner and if you go with those expectations you will not be disappointed. The food was good, the menu has plenty of options and the service was phenomenal. Diamond was our waitress and she was simply outstanding. She made two mistakes on our entire order (hey, let's not forget people are imperfect), acknowledged both and corrected them immediately.
Great menu with quality food. A very good value for the money.
Great service, great food. Love earning points through the app too! It's pricey, though. For a party of 6, only 1 beer and 2 of the party of 6 ordering from the kids menu, our bill was $150.
Overall good, but service is a little slow. Make sure you save room for a pizzookie!
Our waitress was great and the restaurant was accommodating to our needs. They made our celebration a great one!
Service was great. Waitress was awesome, attentive and had a great sense of humor!! I have already recommended this restaurant and I can’t wait to come back!!
My steak was OK, but not well seasoned. My wife did not enjoy her ribs. It seemed that they had been cooked well in advance and reheated. The asparagus she was served also were not cleaned properly. Kids' food was Ok. Also, the desert pizookie was not very appealing. Overall it seemed uneven in terms of food quality. However, the service we received was great.
Solid place to Eat. Must be doing something right because it was always crowded. I recommend using OpenTables becasue our wait was only 15 min with a reservation (over 1.5 hours without one). The Kitchen messed up and brought our appetizers late but the waiter was nice enough to take the appetizers off our bill. They were swamped so I understand how this can be mixed up. Food was a little over priced (Over $13 for a personal 6 inch pizza, Over $15 for a normal bacon cheeseburger), but it definitely was good. Beer list is great!! Best part about BJ's.
Just a very average restaurant, average food, average mixed drinks, average service & atmosphere.
I ordered the chummichere chicken. My portions were small, sweet potatoes fried lukewarm and waiter was nice but all over the place. I will give this place another try before deciding if I would ever go back Alain
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Our salads took 50 minutes to come out and when they did, one of them was completely wrong. Our waitress would not come speak to us and a manager was condescending. HORRIBLE.
Good food, good food
Great beer and tasty HUGE menu
We had a reservation at 7pm and were told it would be 20 more minutes. It was actually only 10 minutes so that was not too bad. The Manager was very polite and got us the next booth as our reservation requested. Unfortunately, the delay was caused because there were two cooks out sick last night. We eventually waited over an hour for our food. When we received our orders they were either cold or undercooked. Luckily, the manager took care of us. That was very classy of him. I've been to this location before for lunch and only had good things to say. Next time on a Saturday night, I will give them another chance at carry out instead of dining in
5 stars for service and 2 stars for food and 2 stars for overall this visit.
The food was cold. We were there 2.5 hrs and that still wasn't enough time to get warm food and dessert
The food was terrible. We were served cold nachos and a RAW Pizookie. I was there with family, and the company was great, but it was some of the worst food I’ve ever had out.
Service was slow, portions for children were not that great. Had to order additional food for my nine-year-olds.
I have been to BJs several times generally with complaints. I went the other day with my two younger children. our waiter was phenomenal! He was attentive without hovering, and managed to guess what we needed before we had to ask! He literally made the entire experience! The food there is consistent, and it is good. As a former server, I was very impressed with him!!
Celebrating on New Year’s Eve.
Service was poor. Had us waiting and wondering where he was, or if he was even still on the clock. Unacceptable. Granted, it *was* New Years Eve, but the restaurant was packed, so staffing should not have been the issue.
It wasn't super busy, but our server seemed to be. We had to ask several times for drink refills, sometimes twice for the same drink. Food took a while, but it was okay because we had chips & salsa. They refilled the chips but never the salsa. I got the ribs which were just okay. The meat was tough to get off the bone, but it was a decent sized rack. Mashed potatoes and fries were good. Brussell sprouts were good, but have been a lot better in the past. We skipped dessert because all 5 of us were out of drinks and it was easier to just pay and go rather than wait for her to come back. (Paid on the app so we didn't have to wait for her)
We do love it there most of the time and this visit was just ehh.. But for price we pay, we expect better service.
Not too crowded. Ordered the guacamole appetizer, a great value. Got soup and salad ...tortilla soup was loaded with chicken and spicy. Jambalaya was spicy and plentiful. Used frequent diner value to get a discount. Overall, good experience.
This chain is nicely managed. Great food, beers, service and lively sports bar vibe. Teens and up is the proper age.
My job went to BJ’s in Columbia for our Holiday Dinner. We had an amazing experience while we there. The food was awesome. The service was impeccable. It was just a great experience there.
The waitress seemed distracted and disinterested. The food was cold. Side dishes and condiments missing. Slowness blames on Veterans Day specials. Overall underwhelming experience.
We went there for a girls night out and the service was amazing! The food, drinks, beer were all amazing!!! I recommend the root beer glazed boneless chicken wings for appetizer!! Delicious! The pizzas are all incredible.
We had Andy as our server and he was absolutely amazing. It is hard for us to dine out with a one year old, and Andy was super on top of it! Upon our first initial greeting and before taking any orders, he told us we already had a baby fruit plate coming. As the night continued Andy was very attentive, assuring us food was in the way, asking if it came out alright, clearly plates as we finished them, and refilling beverages as necessary. As we ended the night with a dessert, he even suggested a better deal, that was more for the money (which was greatly appreciative). And before having the chance to even ask for the check, he already had it in hand. I wish I could have tipped him myself because he deserved 35+% (as my father in law paid) because he made our night. This is something we always encounter as parents of a toddler, SLOW service. It makes a HUGE difference. I’m always so grateful we get served by someone who just gets it, even if they don’t have kids. I was former F&B associate for over 10 years at a major hotel company, and I have to say y’all did a great job hiring this man! Hold on to this one! Great service!
Our server was delightful, the service was great and the food was delicious!
Placed a reservation online hours ahead of time, still sat and waited for over 30 minutes after our reservation. The food we ordered came out wrong, the waiter never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, didn’t dare to order dessert after the food was messed up and took forever. Awful night. Thanks for ruining my bday dinner!
They don’t take reservations seriously. There is no point to make a reservation.
This is not my sort of place -- plastic menus ala TGI Fridays and huge portions of mostly ordinary food. But my young friend wanted to go there for her birthday and she loved it, choosing the chicken and quinoa salad and a strawberry margarita. My Thai noodle dish was fine. My partner had a huge fish and chips serving with more chips that three people could share. Our server was pleasant, but weirdly the menus did not match and mine had food smears on it. The craft beer selection is formidable. It was economical: four of us ate and drank for $100 including a generous tip.
Service was good. Weren’t rushed. Pleasant evening with friends.
While the service is good, it is slow and you have to plan accordingly.
We like the restaurant but service was really slow.
Wan and Ryan were great servers. Very knowledgeable about the vegan and gluten-free options.
The snacks for kids was a great touch!
The Open Table needs to be updated to book parties greater than 6. I booked the table for 6, then called 1 hour before my reservation to advise the staff; this worked out.
We came in specifically for the Avocado Egg Roll appetizer, having had that a number of times previously while visiting in California. The egg rolls were okay, but were not quite hot, nor were the wrappers crispy. And they really skimped on the tamarind dipping sauce. The Couscous Macaroni & Cheese was quite tasty, but the Spicy Thai Noodles were missing the broccoli listed in the menu and the serving size was paltry. It was a mostly disappointing meal and we are not eager to return.
We had a very disappointing visit to BJ's to celebrate my husbands birthday. Service was awful, it should not take 2 hours to eat a meal here. Meals were delivered cold and long gaps between meals and desserts brought out. Our waitress was no where to be found many times. She seemed overwhelmed by a party of 12 that she was dealing with.
One other note, we had a reservation for 6pm, upon arrival I was told that it was not in fact a reservation but just placing our name on a wait list. I have no issues with call ahead seating but you need to say that in advance. I was under the impression that reservations made on open table were in fact reservations.
Wasn’t busy, but service was very slow and inattentive. Food took a long time, came out just warn and was just meh. Only reason to really go here is the pizookie
