Bizzi's Bistro and Wine Bar
Visit Bizzi’s for a hard-to-find glass of wine, a cheese plate to share, or a beef wellington. Some of our most popular dishes are our lamb, beef wellington, meatloaf and filet mignon, but we do run dinner specials every night. We make everything by hand, with love. Come in for lunch, dinner, a cocktail, a bottle, or just have a glass of wine and relax.
In addition to our regular service, we do everything from 7-course wine-pairing dinners to educational classes. Every Thursday is a wine tasting, we change the menu seasonally and we even do the occasional cocktail flight. Anything to keep it fresh.
We can also be rented out for special events - - Bridal Showers, Business Meetings, Corporate Holiday Parties, Anniversaries, etc.
Such a quaint, intimate dining experience with very knowledgeable staff. Our party of 7 had a fun night celebrating and the cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and desserts were all outstanding. This is one of our favorite spots and it never disappoints. Such a gem of a place!
Terrific cozy gem in the Mid Cities, outstanding service and menu, incredible wine list
Great place to celebrate our 55th anniversary. Will defiantly go back.
Everything was wonderful.
Great food and staff. It was nice for the owner to come over and welcome us!
The food was very good. The service was personal and attentive, but not overbearing. It was a very pleasant evening for us!
Great food! Great service! Very nice ambiance! The perfect place for a nice romantic dinner.
The perfect place to have a really good dinner with excellent wine with close friends where you can actually enjoy a conversation.
One of the best prepared and delicious pieces of seabass that I have ever been served. My husband had the lamb and was very pleased. The food and service were impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Disappointed in main course food: paella special. Serving was small with too much rice and minimal meats and seafood, and was severely overpriced at $40 compared to standard menu items. We have eaten there before with satisfactory results, but this experience sours me on recommending to others.
Wine selection is great. Mom and pop vibe is very charming. The recipes are great. The location is the most fascinating thing - you'd never guess such a great restaurant is right there!
My wife and I second visit. Really like this place. Food and cocktails are excellent.
Great staff. The food was excellent.
Neighborhood gem. Not our neighborhood - so of course we were not known like most people that were enjoying a meal. Regardless, a spirited group effort to serve us by a friendly staff was put forth. Spot on cocktails (somewhat rare in my opinion) and of course a wonderful wine selection. Brie appetizer and salads were nice - fine dinning portions. I had the veal and my wife enjoyed the crab crusted salmon. Entrée portions were large. Very nice Nutella cheesecake for dessert. Our six year old daughter slept through a tremendous meal. Thanks to all that were very kind to her. We will return.
It would have been a perfect score but the lady seated next to us was so loud when she talked (and she talked a lot) that I could not wait to leave. She literally ruined what started out perfectly.
The food was GREAT. The charcuterie plate was excellent and a great value. Main dishes were creative and the food plentiful. The waitress was attentive and helpful in dish description.
We've been before and will go again.
We had a family birthday celebration here on Saturday night. Everything was great! The staff was attentive but not overly so. They were very helpful in suggesting which wines to order. We ordered a bottle each of red and white, which were both excellent. Three in our party had the nightly special, a rosemary tenderloin, and all said it was excellent. The rest of us had a variety - beef wellington, jumbo fried shrimp and veal escalope. All were also excellent. Our appetizer flatbread was slightly overdone, but still tasty. Highly recommend this quaint neighborhood spot and we were very excited to find a great place so close to home.
Excellent service and the food was delicious
I wasn't able to mark the rating lower than moderate for noise level. Bizzy's was quiet enough that I could easily have a conversation. Outstanding food and service. Varied menu with seafood, beef, pork and chicken.
Waitstaff was a little inexperienced for a highly taunted venue. We had not been there before and felt rushed in making our menu selections. Menu could have more detailed description of choices. Kitchen took 45 minutes to serve our meal. Wine list was impressive. Stuffed pork was excellent even though it was a fried chop. Was expecting pork tenderloin. We may give it another try later during the holidays.
Relaxed atmosphere with great food and service. A wonderful place to have a nice dinner and an evening of quiet conversation. We always end up coming for and early dinner and staying until closing time. Our favorite restaurant for special evenings with special people.
Tonight was prolly our eighth or tenth visit. As with every other visit everything was absolute perfection. Being oldsters we like to eat early. Not as early as the Blue Hair crowd, but sixish or so. Great time to arrive here as the bar crowd gathers and tables begin filling shortly after seven. It appears there are a ton of regulars at the bar. (The cocktails here are all done splendidly)
We tried a new app for us this evening the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with diced japs and a chipotle aioli. The five shrimp are serious jumbo size shrimp, the bacon in perfectly crispy cooked and the shrimp...get this... are not overcooked but done perfectly. Juicy and tender.
I have always ordered the Caesar salad before but my wife loves the Greek so I tried it tonight. Bye, bye Caesar. Don't get me wrong the Caesar is excellent, but this knocked my socks off.
Michael knows what we like in a red wine and suggested tonight that we try a Westerly 2013 Cote Blonde on sale at $55 down from $71. Killer. Perfect with our dinners, although the next time we order the shrimp app we will share a glass of a nice crisp Sauvignon Blanc.
Anne ordered her fav, the Beef Wellington, and although the portion seemed uncharacteristically small this evening it was, she says, delish. I ordered the rack of lamb prepared tonight with a pesto cream sauce. I thought that sounded kinda weird for lamb, but it works! The rack was humongous! Eight ribs! Fat ribs! And they could not have been cooked any better. On the rare side of med rare. Lovely. I could work my way through only three. Supper for two more days!
I've pan cooked a lot of fresh spinach, but I have never approached what this kitchen is turning out. Spectacular. Like it barely touched a pan, maybe it didn't. I don't know how they do this but it is cooked ever so lightly, and is ever so flavorful. Not a soggy lump of over cooked fresh spinach. A++
Love this wonderful neighborhood bistro.
Great food, relaxed attentive service, and great wine. This is an excellent choice for a fine dining experience where you can relax and enjoy dinner with your dining party and enjoy good conversation.
Excellent wait staff. The food was very good Everyone enjoyed the evening
What a lovely surprise. We really enjoyed our meals and wine selection.
We just tried Bizzi's for the first time this past Saturday They have excellent food & service in a casual atmosphere Just be hungry & do not expect to have an extremely low tab, even if you skip the alcohol. The food is worth every penny & do not be afraid to ask question about anything with which you are unfamiliar, as they will be happy to explain/describe.
The wine list is extensive, & they have a full bar. Hubby & I split a crab cake appetizer, which was yummy. Hubby started with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc & I started with a cocktail called a Texas Rose (vodka, rosewater, rosemary, [infused in the vodka I think, but don't quote me on that] honey & lemon.) We both liked our drinks. I hydrate like a maniac when drinking alcohol & our water glasses were always refilled promptly & never truly empty.
For our main courses, he had rack of lamb (cooked perfectly medium rare as requested & served with fresh green beans & roasted potato wedges) & a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I had the house- made pasta with buffalo & pork Bolognese sauce & a glass of Moscato D'Asti.
For $5 you can add a salad or cup of Soup Du Jour to any entree. The soup was chili, so Hubby chose that (it was not as spicy or cumin heavy as either of us is accustomed to, but he finished it all) & I had a Caesar salad before our main course. My salad was excellent. I could tell the both the dressing & croutons were house-made. Neither of us could finish our entrees, but they were excellent, so we had them boxed to take home (we were both saving room dessert.) I finished my pasta on Sunday for a late lunch, & it reheated perfectly.
For dessert, we had Crème Brulee’ & peach crumble (Parker county peaches, served with vanilla ice cream.) The owner came by to asked how we liked the desserts. I said I liked them both, but honestly, I would go back for the Crème Brulee’ alone. It was OUTSTANDING!
We left happy & full (& planning our next visit.)
It is so hard to find a nice quiet restaurant with great food where you can carry on a conversation and enjoy a leisurely dining experience and we are so grateful we found Bizzi's. We had drinks before dinner without pressure to order. Then we ordered appetizers and wine and ordered our dinner after the appetizers arrived. A complimentary dessert was served to our birthday celebrant. The food was delicious, the wine recommendation was spot on, and we had a lovely dinner and a nice visit during the evening. I highly recommend this for any occasion where you want to have a fine dining experience while enjoying conversation with other members of your party.
Very nice neighborhood bistro
First time diners! We ordered their Sangria and it was delicious! Had the Charcuterie as our appetizer and it was so good! Had their own homemade fruit jam (we bought a jar) and appreciated the server's recommendations. Dined on filet and New York strip steaks. They were very good and cooked as requested. Dessert was limited....Brownie with candied pecans and butter pecan ice cream and strawberry shortcake. The Brownie was our choice and it was so good. We appreciated the owner coming by the table to check on things. Restaurant is hidden away but it was a pleasant visit...
We had been to Bizzi's before and chose it for a Father's Day Celebration - just the two of us!
The food was excellent - unusual flavors and great service. The atmosphere was nice - felt very cozy. We will plan to be back!
We love Bizzi's and dont get to enjoy it enough! This time was for a birthday celebration and the food was yummy and the service outstanding, as always. Oh, and my cosmo was PERFECT!!
Great little find in Bedford. If you are in mid cities area, you won’t find a better place.
We love Bizzi's. Always great for a good meal, good wine, reasonably priced with a white table cloth! Special
Food took longer than I expected to arrive, but we were having great conversation w friends, so I'll give the wait staff the benefit of the doubt and say they were being observant and not rushing us. My husbands burger was overcooked, but was corrected quickly and without hassle. Second burger was delicious. My steak and scallops were amazing. Our friends also raved about their meals. Overall a positive dining experience. Will definitely be back.
A couple that we knew introduced us to Bizzi’s- we are glad they did . It is a very nice place to have dinner staff is super friendly and helpful . The menu items from scratch are top notch and have been delicious every time . It is more of an upper end place pricewise but it is a value for the quality of food and service you get . Will definitely be back .
Bizzi's is a true neighborhood gem. Wonderful family run restaurant that prides itself on a welcoming atmosphere and great food. Amazing chef who creates daily soups, weekly dinner specials, and spectacular daily/weekly desserts that compliment their set menu. (I've been known to just get a cosmo and the dessert of the day!!!!) My family loves the yummy cheese trays, complete with INHOUSE HOMEMADE jams and their Bizzi's bread. Although I'm not a big wine connoisseur we have taken customers who are and they have been blown away by Michael's wine knowledge and the great selection available. This is the type of place you can feel comfortable dressed up or comfortable coming straight from work to. I can't say enough great things about Bizzi's. You must try it.
