Cute place. Fun to try different ales. Food OK. Nothing really special.
Cider and food
The setting is great! We sat in the suspended booth and it felt cozy even though it wasn’t sectioned off from the rest of the space. The cider is delicious, there are so many options. The food was a bit salty, but overall it was good.
Really expensive for what you get service was mediocre at best
Very, very nice staff. Did their best to accommodate our dietary limitations. Beautiful space. Nice variety on the menu. Food was very good if you have an adventurous palette. Vegan and gluten friendly! However some of our dishes arrived 10 minutes after the first meals hit the table, with no apology or explanation. By the time my meal arrived, everyone else was done eating. Larger parties seem to overwhelm the kitchen. I would happily go back on a date night, just not with more than four people for dinner.
Fun variety of ciders for tasting flights.
Just a note to anyone with a glucose sensitivity/intolerance, at the time of this review, ALL of the ciders offered have cane sugar added back into them after being distilled. I hope they will add at least one or more options with no sugar added or just apple juice added at the end of the process.
Unique setting. Well presented and wonderfully layered flavors. Attentive, laid back service.
We love Bivouac! It’s our second time here and the food and ciders are truly incredible. The only negative is the tightness in dining space. But this is becoming a go-to for great dinners. Thanks Bivouac!
Friendly staff, nicely designed interior and an awesome range of ciders! The only thing that I would change is that they added Terra Chips to two dishes we got - the beet appetizer and the fish and chips. Was hoping to have fries with the fish and chips like everywhere else that serves it. While the beer was delicious, the store-bought chips in it threw me off. My favorite cider was the Albright. Not too sweet, not too dry. Great neighborhood - one of our favorites to dine in so far on our stay in San Diego.
An awesome space and even better drinks. Blown away by how good the various flavors were. The food is just the right balance of delicious and creative. Highly recommend a stop went for two different events here that were great.
Great quality food and friendly wait staff! However food is a little on the pricier side.
This place is great for trying a flight of cider. It's a little pricey but great for special occasions. Went with a group of 4 for my cousin's birthday and had a great time.
Great atmosphere and hospitality. Vanessa was a joy to chat with and get suggestions from. Great cider, food and dessert!
Loved the swing table my group got to sit at.
Great service and nice staff.
Arroz caldo was a little on the salty side. Maybe because of the tamarind on the Duck? Could of used a side of ginger and some calamansi. Other than it was still delicious! Wish I was there when Bulalo or the lobster was on the menu 😭😭😭
Love their ciders --- really outstanding. Fish & chips is also amazing. Great burgers too. Only complaint was on a cold winter night, they had all of their windows open. Made the room quite uncomfortable. We left early (without dessert) because the place was just downright cold.
Such a great find! The food was delicious and the ciders were so fun and yummy! We can't wait to go back and bring our friends.
Food was great and cider was very interesting. It took extremely long for food, drinks or anything else to come. It took away a bit from the experience.
Very disappointed. Food was extremely bland and service was lacking. There were 4 tiny shrimp in the shrimp fried rice and hardly any chicken in the bahn mi. Both had absolutely no flavor. The ciders were good, however.
Veeeeerry cramped dining space, poke was just OK but adobo chicken was top notch. Recommend asking for your own table instead of being seated at communal table.
Ciders were good but the food was pretty mediocre. My husband’s burger was overdone (he had asked for medium rare) and the bun was burnt. My poke was the smallest bowl ever, had too much sesame oil and the rice was hard and broken and cold. My friend said he liked his fish and chips but because it was breaded using squid ink, it looked like lumps of charcoal on his plate and was visually unappetizing. Either the bartender or our waitress kept messing up my friend’s drink order as well.
Just go for the cider.
First time here. Loved the cider sampler. Pork and burger entrees were tasty and well priced.
Had a lovely evening tasting the small plates and ciders. All delicious!
Food was good but service was poor. Our waiter barely came to check on us and we had to chase people down whoever we wanted to order something. And brought us our check without asking when we still were going to order more drinks.
