Bistrot Lepic & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Another very good meal at this neighborhood bistro., a place we visit 2-3 times per year. We had the specials, branzino and the charcuterie. Both were fantastic. For a small restaurant there is a very good wine list, with choices in varieties and prices. We splurged for a Bandol at the waiter’s suggestion. This medium body wine went well with the diverse meals. Tables are small and close together, but that is a nitpick given the overall experience.
My husband and I spent a wonderful evening at Bistrot Lepic & Wine Bar. We were a bit early for our reservation and then kindly invited to a glass of champagne upstairs. Our meals were delicious and reminded me of some of my best dining experiences in France when I was living there. Service was very professional and friendly.
We were extremely pleased with our DC restaurant week pic and will certainly come again!
Near perfect. Outstanding service from Lucia. Just the right amount of helpful. Always near, but never hovering. She knew the wine list well and made a great recommendation. The food was exceptional. Best escargot we’ve ever had. Foie gras very good too. Veal cheeks are not to be missed. Tremendous! And the salmon was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our new favorite Georgetown restaurant is Bistro Lepic.
What a gem! I brought my family here for Christmas brunch and it couldnt have been more impeccable. Delicious, thoughtfully prepared plates, excellent service and a cozy atmosphere made for a wonderful time. We can't wait to come back for the next special meal!
Bistrot Lepic is just around the corner from my house so it is truly my neighborhood restaurant. We eat there fairly often but this visit was a particularly fine one. I had a duck leg conit with sweet potatoes and bok choy - special of the day and it was wonderful. The duck fell off the bone into an don't leave drop of delicious rich sauce. We shared the Ile flottante which is regularly reliable. Hoping that the duck makes it onto the regular menu sometime in the future. A word about the ambiance. The restaurant lives up to its bistrot name. Almost always full but not so full that you can't get a reservation for spur of the moment dinners. And othger people seem to be enjoying their companions, the food and the wine.
I'd called the restaurant from the car and warned them that we were short on time for dinner, so they were ready for us--advised me that downstairs might be quicker (there was a jazz ensemble upstairs), had my table ready immediately, and steered us toward the dishes with less prep time. Still managed to be quite charming, delicious, and authentically French!
This restaurant is always a hit when we bring friends who are first timers. The chef never disappoints us as his diners . From the charming decor , good wines, attentive wait staff and most importantly their wonderful menu choices , we have yet to be disappointed for a delicious meal.
Lepic needs to get some fresh management and also renew the menu. It is too much boring "old style" French cuisine - no real special food. Only "being French" is not enough. Last time we had reserved a table for 5 at 8pm at did not get our table until 8:45pm because "the party before us was late arriving". Not the way to run a restaurant. Au revoir Lepic.
Classic French cuisine, impeccably prepared and served with great warmth. The restaurant is small enough that, even when busy, conversation is easy. Not oppressively formal, although the menu has such classics as veal cheeks. The wine carte is well selected. Upstairs is a warm, cozy bar with comfortable seating and artful decor.
This was a great find in Georgetown. We had a wonderful table in the wine bar upstairs. The waiter Martin was very attention and helpful, but not overbearing, he had a wonderful disposition. Highly recommend the happy hour, we started our dinner early before seven, and were able to try a number of different wines by the glass due to happy hour price. Food was very good. Very enjoyable.
