A perfection, a comfort: a pleasure
Just what we were looking for for a birthday dinner. Delicious food and good service. We could actually carry on a conversation through out dinner. We’ll definitely be returning sooner rather than later.
One of my favorite bistros in DC. I had shad roe and it was fabulous. My friend had the cassoulet, an old standby. We sat upstairs at a table in the wine bar. I prefer the downstairs dining room but upstairs was also nice. The noise level is lower downstairs but in both places, you can carry on a conversation without having to shout. The food here is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Service is terrific. It's a great neighborhood place.
This was to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Just wonderful!! The food is always perfect here and the service and everyone involved with this place are magnificent!! Very attentive, polite, but also low key. So great!! We have made this our new tradition for her birthday, third year in a row...
We ate early, at 5:30, to get to a concert afterwards. It was quiet and pleasant. The trout was delicious and so was the Sancerre. We shared a pear tart for dessert--yum. Nice, friendly service.
My companion and I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent cuisine and service. Perfect environment for a quiet romantic outing .

We ate at Bistrot Lepic last Sunday night for the first time in well over a year. The meal was just excellent. The onion tart with bacon was a delight. The veal chop and osso bucco (a special that night) were among the best veal dishes I can recall eating--both were large and beautifully seasoned. The full-bodied French Bordeaux wine was a good match for the veal and a bargain at $65 (at restaurant prices). The apple tart and ice cream were merely very good, but they were a good ending to the meal.
Excellent service and ambiance. We will be coming back to Bistrot Lepic soon.
This is my go-to French restaurant AND it never fails as far as quality, service, wine list, precisely mad bar drinks, menu selection and daily specials.

Bistrot Lepic is one of my favorite local spots in the Washington DC area. Fantastic menu that changes with the seasons, along with a well appointed wine list. And the attentive service continues to impress. Our dinner there last weekend was fantastic. Keep it up.
Early dinner offered more room to relax in quietness. Food, as always, was delicious.
I went to Bistrot Lepic and Wine Bar for Valentine's Day. While everything tasted very good, the cost of their Pre Fixe menu was a little extravagant for what you received. I was actually excited with the look of the menu, but my entree was hardly enough to fill you. I left hungry.
After the fact, I looked into what our two Pre Fixe orders would be (since most items were actually offered on the regular dinner menu) and our two appetizers, two entrees, cheese plate, and single dessert (since we had to share the dessert on Valentines Day) would cost roughly half of what we paid on Valentines Day itself ($188 before tax and tip).
I am not sure where the math came into play for deciding $89 for the Pre Fixe, but it was horribly over-priced now that I am seeing that the majority of their dinner entrees are $28-$35.
Extremely mediocre food and downright terrible service. It took nearly 3 hours to be served 3 courses. Absolutely not the fine dining experience I was expecting.
Came here for Valentines Day. I had been here before a long time ago but remembered it as a charming French bistro. While the food was of good quality, I was very disappointed to find the ambiance much downgraded. The wait staff was dressed like they were hanging out at home and were taking orders on iPads. We were also seating by the front door which was constantly opening to admit customers or waiters bringing food to the upstairs dining room, letting in cold drafts of air every few minutes. Not a very romantic atmosphere.
The service felt rushed. It was a busy night, Prix fixe, and they seemed to need to move tables.
It was Valentine’s Day and a chance for my wife to speak French with the restaurant staff which she thoroughly enjoyed.

So French, so tasty! This is where I go for tender calves liver, as my husband won't eat it. He had coquilles St Jacques, which he said were delicious, and left him room for a warm chocolate tart. A perennial favorite of ours.
Great experience. Amazing kidneys and curry chicken. Enjoyed good Bordeaux wine. They even had Lillet.
We love this restaurant and return year after year because the food is so delicious
and the service is so good. It's also a real standout in terms of noise level -- unlike
99% of other DMV restaurants, Bistro Lepic is quiet enough you can actually enjoy
table conversation! Reminds me of Paris in the best sense!
Always dependable but I think the food has improved greatly since my last visit. Looking forward to my next dinner at Lepic.

It was such a wonderful evening-entertained friends from out of town who were so impressed with the service, food and ambience of bistro. We had the prized seats in the window and then went upstairs to enjoy jazz with dessert and after dinner drinks. Our entrees were outstanding--special that night -- venison; mediallians of beef; salmon and quail and trout-all delicious. Looking forward to our next visit...

In over 20 years I have never had a meal at Bistrot Lepic that was not excellent.
For the second year in a row, we have met friends to go to Lepic during Restaurant Week! Both times the meal was fantastic. We live in NYC, and made the trip just to return to this little French bistro. Great wine selection, service and bread and butter!!
Listed as restaurant week participant. Restaurant did not post menu online and did not advertise whether they were participating in restaurant week lunch or dinner or one or the other. Did not find that out until waitress came to table. Partner ordered scallops. They gave him two medium sized scallops. That’s it. For an entree! Awful experience and would never recommend this.
A wonderful place to eat when it’s so cold outside. Great comfort food. Love the onion soup.
We had to wait for several minutes at the entrance to the dining room before a waitstaff approached, even though eye contact had been made, to ask if we had a reservation, which we did. That was not an auspicious beginning to our dining experience. The pastry for both my sweetbread appetizer and for my dessert of pomme tarte was not crisp. The beef medaillon part of my entree was outstanding. I had a hard time though identifying what I initially thought was two scoops of mashed potatoes, firm enough that they stood upright on the plate. But they didn't taste like potatoes, perhaps they were mashed cauliflower? Well, they turned out to be dried out polenta. As someone who knows how to cook creamy polenta, this was a disappointment. My husband enjoyed his meal but found that his illes flottant was too firm and there was one solitary sliced almond floating in the creme anglaise. Photos of this dish taken by the bistro's diners showed the top of the meringue completely covered with golden sliced almonds. I regret that I cannot rate the restaurant higher because of the inconsistency of its offerings.
Once we were seated, the wait staff was attentive, our water glasses were topped constantly and a second offering of the excellent and crusty bread was offered without our having to request.
Very cozy and intimate environment. Seating ranges from regular seating to lounge chairs which are very soft and relaxing.

My friend and I decided to give this place a try because of attractive menu for restaurant week. Just to mention, we work in the industry. Male host/server (dressed in sweater) seated us. He never introduced himself. We knew what we would like, so we made our choices upfront and placed order for all three courses. After that, we were fully ignored by the same person. He never checked on us, during three courses. My friend noticed that our server was completely different to his other tables around us. Lovely lady was only one to ask us is everything alright, but she wasn't our server. At the end, he forgot what desserts we chose. He had to ask us again. Food, on the other hand, was delicious. I enjoyed my beef medallions so much. Dessert was yummy. At the end, same lady was only one to see that we would like check and pay. She gave us the check and processed our payment. We got up, nobody says thank you, nobody says goodbye...
This is place with outstanding food, no bothersome noise, and excellent service. What more can you ask ?
