Great execution of French cooking - Jazz night is an added bonus
After the initial schedule change hick up (something got lost in translation) we had a great dinner with great and attentive service. Would definitely come again
We ate here prior to attending an event at the Kennedy Center. A reservation at 5:30 allowed us ample time to enjoy our dinner and make a 7:30 show. Our group particularly enjoyed the escargot, the veal cheeks, and the meringue dessert. The wines complimented the meal well. We enjoyed our meal here and we would return.
The kitchen had an off night on my last trip. The onion tart was heavy, the chicken salty and the beef a bit too intense for the rest of the dish.
We have been enjoying Bistro Lepic for years and it is our go to restaurant when guests come to town. Small, quiet with a quality menu we can count on to please our guests.
Great find in Georgetown. Even though it was restaurant week service and food outstanding. Perfect French Bistros
I've been a regular (once a quarter) here and have always had a good meal, great wine and service. Came during restaurant week - very disappointed in the food quality. Softshell crab was not soft shelled and the salmon was not particularly fresh. I hate to say this, but I likely won't be back in the near term.
The food and atmosphere were wonderful. The service was wonderful at first (first waiter) when we arrived at 6:30 - very attentive. Then we had several other waiters come by, assuming because the first waiter got busier. That's when the service started to get worse with our forgotten desserts and then the really long wait to receive our bill.
Love this neighborhood spot with delicious food, charming service and a devoted clientele.
I love Bistro Lepic, and, like many of my neighbors, go there often. Although the menu rarely changes, one can count on everything being cooked properly and presented beautifully. This time I treated a European friend to lunch there, and it was the perfect place. I’m sure that ?I will soon be back.
A Georgetown staple for over 25 years - for a reason. A comfy ambience with superb fare, never a disappointment. Go!
We have been dining in this restaurant since opening. We like the ambiance, great service and delicious food. My only point is plates are not enough to feed hungry young boys. After $45 worth of entree my son was still not full. He is not a appetizer type of a person. I wish they had more veggies and fries for the sides. Great service and they pay attention to details. We will go back.
The policy of leaving a credit card to make a reservation AND being expected to confirm reservation by phone is really annoying.
Makes me reluctant to return.
Bistro Lepic is a Georgetown treasure. Sublime and always a wonderful experience.
We were seated upstairs for an 8:30 dinner reservation. The dining room downstairs was packed, but upstairs was empty. We were alone in the back room. The server fluctuated between attentive and invisible which made things difficult. Will try again in the main dining room. Friends were disappointed.
Food and service are always great and we’ve eaten there before. Yet this time sat in the far back next to the end wall which accentuated the noise level. Perhaps they should sound-proof that wall with quilted art which would help absorb it. Yet the man next to us had a naturally booming voice which decreased our fondness of the experience that evening. We will be back and will ask for a better table next time so we can enjoy the experience as we usually have before.
It reminded me of Paris. An excellent bistro. I cannot wait to go back. Love it.
The food was very ordinary for the Sunday brunch. My wife's "chicken salad" tasted like steamed chicken and vegetables. My omlette was watery and under cooked. My brunch companion's chicken with a brown sauce was just OK but not really delicious. I was certainly hoping for better food since we have dined at the owner's other location, La Piquette. That restaurant has charm, a more interesting menu and better food.
As always delicious food great service...we ate arugula salad , lamb chops specials...
And 2 had Veal cheeks .
The food was absolutely fantastic! Great quality and preparation which I love about French food! We did get our reservation late and they sat us upstairs but I think with the very heavy rain they could have let us sit in the main dining room because I doubt everyone made it in that night. The tables are not that comfortable upstairs.
We have had dinner here several and continue to love Bistrot Lepic. We will be back soon.
Excellent food and a variety of choices. Authentic.
Excelent food! I felt like I was in France!
I was undecided on which wine I wanted and our lovely waitress brought me a tasting glass of two wines to help me choose - was a nice touch!
I was visiting my son and decided to treat him to fine French cuisine. I was thinking of another French restaurant where we have dined before , but was intrigued by the Caillebotte painting mural that was featured in this bistro photo, and my son also said that he heard good things about this place, so we gave it a try ... And everything was perfect. We went there at 11, thinking of a brunch menu, ordered coffee and poached eggs but the “ pied de cochon” on the appetizer list was a novelty and after listening to our gracious host’s explanation, we ordered it, as well as the escargots, and a very special egg dessert. The service was top notch , the host and the waiting staff really know their element, and the food just delicieux...
Will definitely return on my next visit,
Must husband loved his trout but my risotto with stuffed quail was rather tasteless. I had a very good glass of champagne, but the wait staff never came to ask if I wanted another. We skipped dessert. We've had better French food and service elsewhere in the city.
Once again Bistrot Lepic proves itself a wonderful perennial favourite for true Washingtonians. The food and service is on par with any Michelin Star challenger, it has always been genuine, authentic, real food - no gimmicks and super attentive 'from the heart' service. Thanks again for being so good at what you do - don't change a thing.
Lovely, tasty French food, well presented and served in a quiet atmosphere. Well priced wine by the glass and bottle.
Superb food, top notch service. Restaurants very noisy so it was difficult to carry on a conversation, but other than that I really enjoyed the place. The summer gazpacho soup was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!
An authentic French bistro with excellent food and friendly helpful service. In addition to the restaurant there is a wine bar upstairs where apparently you can also eat. We enjoyed our meal in the dining room and everything from appetizer to dessert was excellent.
A delightful dining experience. as always,
Cozy, warm little bistro with fantastic food and service. Had the softshell crab entree, and it was superb. Would definitely recommend.
NEVER DISAPPOINTED NOT TO BE MISSED A WONDERFUL EVENING
Food excellent. Service was not as good as usual. Slow and distracted.
Fantastic as always! This place is upscale casual with very good food.
Spectacular/authentic French cuisine! Wonderful service and food!! You must go!!
We enjoyed a lovely family brunch, celebrating an 88th birthday. Restaurant was very accommodating of our special needs b
A rare find in a busy restaurant district. Excellent food, carefully prepared and genuinely French. Upstairs bar area exceptionally quiet and intimate.
This is one of my favorite places in DC, but sometimes customers can be very loud and unconcerned when the rest of the people in the room wants to listen to the concert.
Loves the cozy atmosphere and the live jazz.
