For a hotel restaurant very good. Nice bar scene. Spacious in the back.
Most of the entrées are $40. The waiter told us about a special. We ordered two of them. Delicious. And then we found out that they were $125 each when the bill came. I feel like if you’re going to get someone excited about the special you should mention that it is three times the average price of the rest of the entrées on the menu
Loved the Mussels so much! Amazing ambiance and even better food, met the chef and he was amazing.
Everyone was so accommodating! We love this restaurant. The food and service is 100%
Very good food.
The Branzino is wonderful and the bread amazing.
I recommend this restaurant.
The service just for that day was very poor. We were greeted and seated with a cup of water and was told the menu options. Took an hour for someone (only because we stopped someone and he was kind enough to help us) to write down our order and get us a glass of wine and then they brought out our entree's first before the starters so that was a little disappointing. But none the less the place was amazing and id definitely come back on a regular occasion and not when its chaotic especially like valentines day!
Valentine’s Day dinner was great! They seemed understaffed which was a bit sad (not the staff’s fault of course ). although I had requested indoor dining on the reservation, they placed us outside— and the tables were a bit crammed out there and sadly, my BF and I were right next to a very loud table. The VDay pre fixe menu was not at the table so we had to ask for it but it was worth it! The food was so delicious, the wine pairings were delightful and our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. 4 stars just because the understaffing lead to some slow service and the lamb shank was nothing to write home about at all— but the rest of the food was amazing
Everything was fantastic, except for the drinks from the bar. Stick with the wine which they have a great selection.
The food was great! The music didn’t match the ambience.
The atmosphere and service were great. The food was decent. Unfortunately, the Valentine's Day menu posted on their website was completely different from the actual Valentine's Day menu, which was disappointing. I might've enjoyed it more if I knew the actual menu and didn't get my hopes up for a different selection. The dessert was not good at all. It was chocolate pudding with some crumbled peanut brittle on top.
Waited forever for our meal and between courses. The kitchen lacked organization.
Weren’t seated until 30 mins after our res. Took 15 after that just to get water...that continued for 3 hours. Food was ok but didn’t match price
Great French restaurant and bar in SOHO. Great staff and marvelous menu with very good wine list.
Cozy friendly neighborhood gem, we go here often i the early evening
Food was meh but the outdoor seating was a delight. Heat lamps covered all the tables so it was nice and warm.
Nice spot for off the street outdoor dining. The absolute game changer for the evening was our waiter Fabricio, outstanding service.
Been here a few times and this place is super solid - never disappoints!
Very nice ambiance in a very nice setting. They've done a really really good job with their outdoor seating. I'll start with the good stuff. Amazing desserts. Unfortunately I found their the entrees very very underwhelming. They have a special tomahawk steak that was just of terrible quality meat, but I could tell that it was cooked perfectly and with care. That's really too bad because bad quality meat will always rule the day. A little more expensive than I would have liked. So in general a good spot but I'm not sure I'll go back because of the quality of the ingredients. One last thing, the service was really wonderful. They are good people. They just need new suppliers...
It was just okay, food was mediocre, won’t be going back here again
Waited 30 minutes past our reservation before being seated. Then they overcharged for the meal. Weak showing.
I was so happy to see that Bistro Leo had reopened, as I had always wanted to dine there. They have really nice outdoor patio seating, which is much better than sidewalk tables. The food was delicious. I had the caesar salad with salmon. The salad included Brussels sprout and boiled eggs. The salmon tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. I also had the pommes frites, which are always a treat. They were limited on dessert options, but I was able to order the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies which were delicious. The service was great and the prices reasonable. An awesome dining option in Soho.
The restaurant satisfied our needs. Nice romantic environment, good ambience. Comfortable seating.
Food excellent! The only disappointment....we asked the waiter the price of the Lamb Chops special. He wasn’t 100% sure and guessed $35. When the bill came, it was $48. They were delicious but we should have brought that up to the mgr.
Very disappointed with my trip here. The food was mediocre and overpriced. The waiter, who was nice at the beginning, completely forgot about us as the place got busier. We couldn’t get our dessert or a check; packed items to go were packed poorly. Will not return.
Nice place. Quiet, tasty food, friendly professional service...
Everything is Very silty
It is NYC Restaurant Week so I like to try places I haven’t been before. This choice was not a good one. First, the cleanliness of the seating banquet was horrible. It was filthy.I asked for bread to accompany the salad course and was told 2 baguettes would be an$8 additional charge. The green salad with a small amount of crab was good. My entree of risotto and prawns (2) was disappointing. Two prawns- very stingy. It tasted good, but nor great. My friend had the chicken which was shredded and included pieces of bone. Dessert was extra and we ordered a chocolate dessert and a banana bread dessert. They were good. I felt this was a very poor value for the lack of bread and poor ness of the entrees. I will not be back.
Service and food were fine. Had the $26.00 Restaurant Week brunch. My wife had a mimosa ($20.00) and I had a bloody mary ($19.00). Drink prices were way too high.
The food was good, but nothing outstanding. Desserts were actually really good. Had the New York week menu.
From the hostess hospitality to our last server attention the experience was great. They attentiveness helped us celebrate a special birthday. Thank you!
What a lovely room and wonderful staff. I’m amazed that it isn’t more crowded. Maybe some music on the weekends to liven it up. Would definitely come back. Great for groups.
Excellent food, ambient and served.
I always enjoy Bistro Leo. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is always charming. I do find it appalling that they charge for bread. I find this ludicrous, especially considering the price points are not low. And on this last occasion I did have a great deal of fine crab shells in the salad. That's disconcerting and should not happen. I was foolish not to send it back. That said, it was an isolated incident.
Staff very kind, awesome food and great sound track!!
It was a very quiet evening and a few things on the menu were unavailable but they offered us a few things complimentary to make up for that. The service was excellent and a fantastic wine was recommended. The food was really great and we enjoyed everything we had. As s bonus it was quiet and we were able to talk and linger. Highly recommend Bistrot Leo.
Hotel restaurants need to be great in NYC, but the competition on Thompson Street is pretty severe. A block around Bistrot Leo are several fun and outstanding restaurants. Sure no-one like to pay for bread and butter but the 4 dollar baguette and butter are delicious. The menu is standard brasserie stuff pretty well executed, but the prices are a little higher than the food might merit. A roasted cauliflower sitting in melted brie is tasty, but as a $21 appetizer it should be eye-rollingly scrumptious. Paying 18 bucks for a cocktail is the new NYC norm but really...
However, sitting out front on the outdoor patio on a gentle August evening it is hard to complain. The service was uniformly conscientious and the ingredients were of good quality and well handled. Little more imagination and a little rethinking of the pricing would make this a perfect place for a casual dinner.
This place was sadly just meh. My deviled eggs were too salty and the risotto was undercooked and not exactly all that tasty. Restaurant week is a chance to try places at a discount in hopes you’ll return for a full price meal...and we often have. This isn’t one of the places I’ll be going back to.
We went for restaurant week and it was great. Everything we tried was delicious and the portions were large. The restaurant week menu had a nice array of options, we were just a little disappointed that the menu was different than what was offered on the restaurant week website. Overall, great place
I don't understand any of the negative reviews about this place. Food is great, service was great except for one hiccup which was attended to immediately amid multiple apologies. The front room that one reviewer likened to Siberia is a very nice room and about equal in size to the other one. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Great spot, lovely patio, cool bar, great food!
