About Bistrot La Minette
Bistrot La Minette is the realization of Chef Peter Woolsey's dream that began a decade ago during his earliest days studying in France: to create a restaurant that would share his love of the authentic bistrot experience with his fellow Philadelphians.Chef Peter pays great respect to the traditional dishes that he creates and honors the classical French methods required to achieve unparalleled bistrot cuisine. Both savory and pastry menus are ever evolving to reflect the seasons, the availability of the best ingredients and the inspiration of the chef. They are drawn from the various regions of France and the multitude of delicacies that each has to offer. The service is both efficient and warm, rooted in a foundation of hospitality and caring for our guests.
Our goal is for Bistrot La Minette to be accessible to all guests that enjoy superb food and wine, and the company of their companions: hoping to evoke their best memories-or dreams-of traditional French bistrot dining.

Bistrot La Minette Ratings and Reviews
This is probably my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is also excellent and the service very good. The menu has several good options and rotates seasonally. I would highly recommend for a date or group. The restaurant also has a private room that is great for larger parties of 8+.
Wonderful French dinner! Escargots were so delicious!Dont get too full mopping up the juice with the bread. Foil gras terrine melts in your mouth. Entrees were very good but could have been hotter. Service was attentive, warm and knowledgeable. Feels like Paris. We will definely return.
Authentic French cuisine. Affordable wine list. Service slow. Our waitperson was also the full time bartender. Had to ask repeatedly to place the order. Same for the wine. Same for dessert. Same for the Check. Quality of food and preparation excellent. Seating very tight. Every table filled.
The food was beyond beyond! Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, informative and his recommendations were right on. For what it’s worth, my very French friend who grew up in France says this is his favorite French restaurant in the city. I’m always coming back here.
Someone from the restaurant called to confirm my reservation via OpenTable and discuss my request for a nice table for our anniversary. He picked the perfect spot for us at the front of the restaurant in an alcove to ourselves. Our server was fantastic, helping us initially through our wine indecision by providing us a few tastes. We selected a French sparkling rose that was divine and we thoroughly enjoyed the three appetizers and one entree we shared. We have been to France many times and Bistrot La Minette definitely feels much like many of the places we have enjoyed meals there. Highly recommended.
As always, Bistrot La Minette never fails to provide a WONDERFUL meal. Excellent service, delicious food (the new fall menu has a mind-bogglingly good mushroom soup, a duck entree worthy of ordering two plates because one will leave you craving more, and many other delicious stand-bys like escargot, a unique mussel preparation, and creative new selections. Good wine list with unique bottles, yummy desserts (at least mine was, my companion devoured hers before I had a chance to taste it so I guess that counts too!!).
Love this local French restaurant. Elegant and relaxed mid week. Cocktails were good The frisée salad with figs was very very good as were the escargots. We had the duck and steak poivre. Both cooked to desired wellness and delicious. Dessert — Mille feuille was excellent. Service just right. A favorite place.
We enjoyed a wonderful Anniversary dinner and arrived before 7pm. The opportunity to try half price first course items was a delightful surprise. House wines were $3.00. The trout and scallop entrees were perfectly seasoned. Out door seating was a plus on this balmy September night. We noticed several young moms getting together with little ones in tow. It is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with an elegant menu.
Highly recommend the fig and arugula salad with Roquefort cheese and walnuts. Their pate and baguettes 🥖 are always wonderful.
We have been here many times but this year we were here to celebrate a birthday on the last night of Restaurant Week. We were not disappointed. The three course menu was made up of regular menu items and we chose six different dishes between us and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Of special note was the trout with browned butter and almonds served with fingerling potatoes and green beans. I virtually never order fish in restaurants but this dish was so delicious I will not hesitate to order it again here. The "Happy Birthday: beautifully written in chocolate on a plate with two pieces of wonderful chocolate at the end of the meal was very pretty and very thoughtful. Thanks for a memorable evening.
I went to 3 restaurants participating in Restaurant Week, and this was by far the best. I booked a second time on the last day of Restaurant Week. During my first reservation, I mistakenly booked for one less than my total number of guests. Brett the manager, accommodated my additional guest graciously. The servings were large, not like the slimmed down versions of courses in the other restaurants I visited during Restaurant Week. My friends and I loved our meals- special mention of the escargot, mussels, and trout. The desserts were delicious - special mention of the almond cake with blackberries, puff pastry w raspberries and the peach compote with almond sponge cake and crumbs. I went back just because I wanted to try what every one else had during our first visit. The ambience was very warm. Our waiter Richard, was very attentive and knew a lot about the dishes on the menu. I will surely return.
You think you're in France! A great Bistro with delicious French food. There is a small outside seating area for people watching or enjoying the cooler weather. They have interesting cocktails and a great bar.
My last visit was on restaurant week so it was pretty crowded. Our waiter was very knowelgable and helpful about the food and cocktail menu but we'd were not asked if we wanted a second drink or coffee with dessert.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
