Best Bistro French meal in Philadelphia
This meal was by far the closest i have experienced to true french dining while not being in France. My family and i ate the family-style meal, a spring green salad with an exquisite dressing, the roast chicken with lemon creme sauce and the chocolate mousse cake. The ambiance was picturesque and the service was similar to what you would expect in France, allowing you to relish your food.
Delightful, delicious, romantic dinner.
An overall pleasant dining experience!
Loved the food but maybe the chef can consider making dishes less salty?
Had the feeling of a Parisian bistro. Delicious food and love the BYOB!!
Martinis served in water glasses because the dishwasher was behind? Give me a break. Server was awkward and unsure of herself and the menu. Watching her barehand olives and lob them into the drinks was a real treat.
Did the chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairing. So good and the two of use got different entrees and different second courses so we got the try more things. All 5 courses were delicious! Most places go down hill after a few years. This place keeps getting better! Would recommend to anyone!
Enjoyed the evening. Look forward to going back. A neighborhood gem.
Had a great time at catching up with a friend I see once a year.
Lovely brasserie whose high quality, thoughtful food, knowledgable and attentive, but unobtrusive waitstaff provide a warm, satisfying dining experience. On a recent visit with another couple, there were several stand-out items, including the always available braised rabbit AND the Marget duck breast!- as good, better even, than those we've had in the Perigord.
The service was very accommodating - served us selections from the kitchen and brought out a special plate with truffles to celebrate our anniversary. Wonderful experience!
My mushroom soup and beef bourguignon were delicious.
Great food - best Lyonnaise salad outside of France
My wife and I had a very nice meal. There were many nice, traditional French items on the menu. The food was well prepared. The wine list was adequate but heavily french oriented.
We had a lovely Easter brunch - great food - sunny Parisian vibe. And well priced too!
Would love the recipe for the vinaigrette on the bright salad topped with an egg - brown butter almonds on the trout was delicious, herbed omelette was fresh! Lovely French wine.
And thank you for honoring an Open Table Gift Card - now that we've tried this little bistro we'll be back!
We did the tasting menu and were completely blown away! Turned an impromptu date into an unforgettable night.
Tartare and veal terrific, house red a great choice at a good price, less enthusiastic about the Alsatian flatberead. Service competent and very patient with our party of four, who had a lot of talking to do before we got around to ordering. The little cheese balls were tasty.
Dinner with 2 young kids, celebrating wife's birthday. Every one had a great time. Servers were attentive. Food was great, one of the best French restaurants in the Philadelphia area.
One of my favorite local spots just take visiting friends
Perfect as usual. This time we got the family style dinner, and it was not just excellent food, but a terrific price:$25 per person for 3 courses. Had one of us gotten this meal a la carte, it would have been close to double the price. There is a limited choice if yo go this route, but if what is offered appeals, this is the way to go. And as always, it's nice to have a place where you can have a conversation and hear each other without yelling!
Neighborhood gem that is worth regular visits. Always enjoy the menu and excellent cocktails. Best rabbit in town. Corkage fee a bit steep.
Bistrot la Minette is truly a special place. The food is simply extraordinary, the service attentive yet unobtrusive, and the atmosphere cozy. We happened to be celebrating a special occasion as a couple, and found everything very romantic, but it would be just as appropriate for a small group of friends or family to enjoy a wonderful meal. Standouts included the perfectly roasted chicken and the light and tangy beet salad. Go! You won't be disappointed.
We are always so happy to come here. The food is perfect. Top notch everytime. It's always a hit with the children. It's like being in a time capsule for us and travel back to France a couple of decades ago. Peter and Peggy created a gem. Merci !
Well prepared tasty food and excellent service.
We were a high maintenance group, very well taken care of by our waiter.
Wonderful, cozy neighborhood restaurant with a classic French bistro feel. Great food, menu full of traditional French cuisine and also some creative desserts. Good spot for a date
Another beautiful meal at Bistro. This place glows. We did the tasting menu and everyone was thrilled. We are a tough bunch to please but the combination of food, service and ambiance here never disappoints.
Did not get the complimentary desert with candle for my wife’s birthday as told. But did get some complimentary sweets.
Loved the cozy vibe and the French cuisine was authentic.
Love this place
We've had many excellent meals at Bistro La Minette, but the 2 dishes honoring the late Paul Bocuse were just remarkable. We added some seared Foie in between courses and it was a truly memorable meal.
I highly recommend signing up for their mailing list as the specials that are run what seems like monthly, including the Bocuse dishes, are things that you want to know about!
Very nice French home-cooking-style meal, with interesting wine list. A good place to go for classic French specialties like Blanquette de Veau, Boeuf Bourguignon or Bouché à la Reine.
Best escargot in the city! Great service & delicious food. Make the trip for brunch !
The last time we went , we ordered the truffled chicken prepared the Paul Bocuse way. It was superb, and everything else we had was also excellent. We had orchestra tickets, so had to be out by 7 pm. Even though we were late in getting there, the staff made sure everything was served quickly, yet without it being rushed, so we enjoyed both an excellent and relaxed meal, and were able to easily get to the performance on time. A lovely start to a perfect evening!
Wonderful birthday celebration— chicken with Cremini mushrooms was incredible!
LaMinette is an authentic French Bistro located within walking distance to Center City. The space is narrow and the tables are close together. My family had dinner on a Sunday night when family style 3 course pre fixe is $25. We ordered a arugla/ beet salad, roasted chicken and mousse cake. We ordered escargot to share. A carafe of house Pinot noir was $23. Food was above average, service attentive, and priced very reasonably.
I love this place. Go for special occasion or a date night. Food and service is fantastic!
Let me just preface this review by saying I’m not a huge French food fan. But my husband and I wanted to branch out and friends had recommended this place in the past. The restaurant itself is very charming and the atmosphere was lively. Our wait staff was cool but professional. I started with the beet salad, which was tasty but not very creative. Sweet beets on a small bed of mixed greens. For entrees, I ordered the scallop dish and my husband the beef Bourguinon. The scallops were served in a very tart sauce along with mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and a vegetable unknown to me. It was very small and extremely sour. So that, coupled with the very tart sauce, made for an extremely nauseating dish. I tasted the beef entree and it was tasty, but nothing exquisite. We had hoped the desserts would make up for the meal. My husband was sent the wrong dessert and what I ordered was not what was described on the menu. Perhaps the evening was just full of poor choices but I doubt we will be back.
