Amazing as always!!!! 5 stars!!!
We dined with friends and were able to converse without shouting. The food was superb, the service was perfect - prompt but not pushy. The menu choice was varied and we all were pleased with what we selected. We had a great time and will be back next time we visit Philly.
Second time dining here and it was just as fabulous as the first. I had the escargot and steak tartare and it was one of the best meals I have had in my life. Highly recommend.
Had a delicious dinner- menu is not large but all the choices picked were thorough enjoyed by all 6 of us, appetizers and entrees. Love their food.
This is absolutely one of favorite restaurants in Philadelphia! We have been several times for different occasions. We have learned from past experiences what our favorite things are to eat. This time we decide to get 3 apps and 1 dinner and 2 sides and 1 dessert to share.
We had the mussels and snails which we get every time we go. We also had the fois gras per a friends suggestion. It did not disappoint. Then we shared the duck which was cooked to perfection and delicious! We also had the Mac and cheese and the hericotvert and the pastry with the berries for dessert. We did not leave one drop of anything on our plates!!
If I have 1 complaint it’s that the tables are very close together and if you are only 2 people you basically are sitting with the people on both sides of you. We know this going in so we are ok with it when we go. It’s fun to talk
To the others and see what everyone else is eating. More than2 people have a little more privacy.
I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food. Fast service. The place is pretty small and noisy.
Food was excellent. Service was bit slow given that it wasn’t super busy.
We were a younger couple so the staff treated us as so. Nothing bad nor rude but kind of unattentive. Ordered the chef tasting and food was remarkable.
Cheese wheel dinner was amazing.
I hadn't been to Bistro La Minette in a year or so, and assumed it would be it's usual excellent classical French cuisine. Unfortunately it appears to have slipped. Another guest and I each ordered the endive salad. When it arrived it was entirely butter lettuce, and although it was excellent, was not what was ordered. Two guests, including me, ordered the braised beef as an entree. The beef was well cooked and quite tender, but the vegetables (carrots and parsnips) were hardly cooked at all. In addition, the entire dish, which should have a savory sauce, was nearly dry with very little sauce. I ordered a poached pear for dessert, and it too was grossly undercooked and difficult to cut. The kitchen appears to be very spotty at present, with little oversight. It will be awhile before I return.
We went with 4 people and did the Mont D’Or- cheese fondue for prix fix -160.00 for 4 not including drinks of course. It’s not an actual fondue as we think of it but a cheese boule melted in a wooden circular container but it was very tasty- fresh salads to start- generous portions with traditional French djon mustard. The cheese was plenty for the four of us- many fingerling potatoes, mushrooms and sausage freshly made local. The dessert was a moist hazelnut type cake with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream- we asked for an additional scoop as one was a bit skimpy for 4 people and the readily accommodated us. Coffee was delicious!! Wine was paired but we didn’t care for the one they recommended so they readily took it back and we ordered a Pinot noire that was very nice. Overall this place was a lovely “French type” atmosphere and we would return!!
perfect french comfort food and tasting menu never disappoints
Bistro La Minette has consistently prepared and served us great classic French food in a charming setting for over 10 years. We are never disappointed when we eat there.
I normally rate the overall service from the moment that we got assigned the seat. It was not crowded Sat morning but yet we were seated near the kitchen. That was why the service and ambience rating were low. The food were good. The service was friendly...but if u guys are embarrassed to have us asian ladies dined at ur place and seated us near the kitchen when ur whole place were empty...then we will not going to come back. France is just a flight ride away if we want good french food.
Exquisite food. It’s very simple, but each dish was absolutely delicious.
Best cocktail I’ve had in Philadelphia (Minette En L’.air). Wonderful service, lovely and welcoming atmosphere. Each dish was delicious and special. Thank you for a very special evening!
Never disappointed. Our go to restaurant for good food
We went for the Mont D'Or meal and it was fantastic. Upscale comfort food. Service was wonderful, attentive without being constantly present and with a nice sense of humor.
The lunch prix fix is such a bargain. All three courses were great. $5 Bloody Mary were really good
Bistrot La Minette is a great little gem. The food is wonderful without being precious. The service is warm and engaging without being too clingy. Most important, it is always busy but it is never too loud that you cannot hear. It has a wonderful vibe. Really enjoyable.
Delicious food with a casual French feel. Trout and chicken were very well prepared.
A must go to French restaurant for a delicious dinner. The appetizer made with a poached egg is to die for.
A terrific neighborhood spot, unknown to me before I was there with a friend on Thursday. Very creative and tasty dishes, good wine, quiet (we were early, it was picking up a bit when we had to leave for the theatre), great understated but crisp and attentive service. Just great fun. I hope to be back.
Not a whole lot of value for the money. Food wasn’t as exciting as other reviews had indicated
LOVE EVERY experience I have here! I keep meaning to bring my French stepmom here, I think she’d LOVE it as well.
We went with another couple and everything including apps, salads, main dishes including salmon, chicken, beef and trout were excellent. Our waiter was great.
Vegetarian option was remarkable ( from this carnivore)- rabbit was not interesting. Great wine list
I love this little bistro and when they have their regional dinners wow. This time Alsace. I need to go there now and see if as good as Peter Woolsley's. Oh my and the little extras just make it even better.
All good as usual
Dined with my husband for my birthday. The meal was delicious and our waiter, Andrew was both knowledgeable about the menu and wine list as well as personable. Great experience. We will recommend to our friends.
Food great as usual. Stop clearing the table before everyone is finished. Honestly...is that courtesy too difficult to master here?
What a wonderful quiet Sunday afternoon! Food and service were both excellent! Loved our server! Thank you. We will be back.
Absolutely terrific! Everything was out of this world, from the starters to the entrees to desert. Very cool wait staff
Prepared wrong dish and were not particularly apologetic about it. Like it happens all the time? Really?
I am sorry that your experience was disappointing. As you can see from our reviews your experience was neither up to, nor characteristic of our standards. We have addressed this with our staff. I hope you will again give us the opportunity to impress you. Thank you for your time.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Overall, I think it was a fair value. I enjoyed the two chocolate truffles served at the end of the meal which were made on the premises
Enjoyed our meal. The appetizers of cheese plate and escargot were very good. Had steak and eggs and roast chicken for entrées. The steak was flavorful and cooked properly, the chicken moist. Pot de crème au chocolat and mille feuilles were excellent. Along with house wine and coffee, a good was had by all.
My husband and I went just for dessert and drinks, but ended up getting appetizers too. My cocktail was good but way too much ice which made it very diluted. Dessert and appetizers were good. The ambiance was very French like. Next time we will try the dinner options.
Food was superb. Ambiance was lovely. Very authentic French bistro in feel and taste. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a bit of Paris without a flight!
This was my first visit, my partner had been for drinks. We both had a lovely date night. Food was superb, service was top notch and we even had a lovely chat with a couple next to us about their upcoming trip. Such a lovely night out.
