Great food and a very comfortable atmosphere. I will be back on my next trip to Philadelphia.
Bistrot la Minette never disappoints! Food is outstanding from appetizer to dessert.
My dinner was very good until the desserts. We had the Mille feiulle and the pastry on both orders were burnt. Not good for French pastry. So be careful on which dessert you order. The rest of the meal was fine. The restaurant did very little to satisfy the dessert problem.
GREAT FOOD AND GREAT VIBE. IT FELT SPECIAL, BUT STILL CASUAL.
Outstanding dinner, definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. If you like scallops, you have to try the Noix St. Jacques Pan-seared scallops. They were SOO GOOD! We will definitely be back!
Food was excellent. Just wish the portions were a bit bigger, specially for the appetizers. Content with everything though
Wonderful service, very knowledgeable. And the food was amazing. Get theb
Better than Park. The food
Melted in your mouth. Great for a date/night out
BLM never disappoints! Been here 6 times and always consistent exquisite authentic French cuisine in a French like atmosphere. Waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of all dishes.
Start with the muddles and follow up with the trout and you won’t go wrong. Coupled with a pitcher of their house vino and you’ll be in dining heaven!
Best escargots in Philadelphia! I highly recommend yummy Mille Feuille for dessert. Main course of monkfish medallions was also delicious, but could have been warmer when brought to the table. Friendly and capable service.
I requested the table near the door since it is the most secluded table in the Restaurant and my wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Before our arrival at Bistrot La Minette, an older couple entered and sat down at the table and claimed it as their own even after the restaurant said it was reserved. I was not happy about the circumstances but Bistrot La Minette showed world-class customer service in their handling of the matter. Jenna, the bar tender, made our night and put me at ease, which is nearly impossible to do. I can't overstate how impressive Jenna and Bistrot La Minette were. The food was exceptional as were the wine pairings. A great value and the quality of every course was perfect!!! Kudos to Bistrot La Minette. You can't go wrong eating here.
A quaint French restaurant with excellent food. We went for lunch and look forward to returning for dinner. The duck dish was a favorite.
Our experience was great except that the kitchen ventilation was not working and we were enveloped by heavy odorous smoke that penetrate our clothes and hair and impacted negatively on the experience. I hope the owner will remedy quickly to the problem.
Refined French bistro dining in an elegant and relaxed dining room. BLM is a staple in South Philadelphia now and its menu has improved over the years with a good mix of staples and more and more standout dishes. Very good wine, cocktail, and after-dinner drink list with a good assortment of beers as well. The fromage is the best in the city.
Wonderful food and top notch service. Apparently the manager thought one of our appetizers was taking too long (we didn’t notice; too busy catching up) and they brought us a salad in the meantime. No idea how they knew we had birthdays in the group, but the chocolate truffles sent out were divine. Absolutely loved the whole experience! 11/10
Good service, good food, great company.
Étant française et alsacienne un peu déçue de la cuisine... ne recommande pas les tartes flambées
Great service, a couple of no-charge treats, friendly staff... can’t wait to go back !
Unfortunately I bit into an undercooked string bean and my upper bridge work came out. It will be expensive to fix. So I had little to eat. It was probably on its way out, but the beans were barely cooked- never experienced that before.
The food is always great, server was extremely supportive and triedto help in making sure I ordered what I was able to eat. Then came the tough bean! All I can say is cook your beans more, and if I set up a go fund me for the 10,000 in repair work that I may need, send in a few cents.
Never had a bad experience here. Food always hits the mark and service is atten
This was our first visit and won’t be our last. Everything from the bread through dessert was truly delicious and very well presented. And the French 75 was perfection!
Best experience ever, my sister, cousin, and I just loved everything about it. It really felt like I was dining in France. Love to go here again. And our waiter was phenomenal.
Just South of South street you can find Bistrot La Minette. It's a lovely place with great food.
We went for restaurant week and thought this charming French restaurant was well needed in Philly serving authentic French style food. The entrees ordered, duck confit, trout amande and pork roast with prune stuffing, enjoyed by all 3 of us. The dishes with fruit condiments and all veggies deliciously complimented our entrees. Just a wish for the trout to be a bit more moist and the duck to have other than a foie gras sauce. A fruit flavored sauce I prefer to balance out the salt flavor of the confit.
The squash soup was a perfect beginning to our dinners-super delicious and the desserts , lemon tart and chocolate mousse cake a real treat.
The service was perfection and the waiter very helpful and personable, always there when we were needing some attention.
I definitely recommend a trip to Bistrot La Minette
My boyfriend and I decided to come here on a date for restaurant week. I had read good reviews and thought it looked like a nice place. It was so much better than I expected. The staff were all extremely friendly and the food was fantastic. Our server recommended the escargot since I had never had it and it was delicious. I’m usually the type of person to need a to go box but all of my plates went back clean. I even helped finish my boyfriends food. It was quite crowded and we were in the main area, so the noise level was high enough to be noticeable, but that’s to be expected when it’s a busy night. The staff were all very attentive and again the food was FANTASTIC. I will definitely be returning.
Great meal there during Restaurant Week for my birthday. Food is exquisite and they toned the richness down to accomodate my wife who was recovering from a stomach "thing." Great food, good service and a nice ambience.
The food was great! The service was excellent! And the ambiance was wonderful
I was so disappointed this time. We come eat here every time we visit from NYC. I have so thoroughly enjoyed it each time. But, this time was a disaster. Perhaps we can chalk it up to restaurant week, but the food was cold and overly heavy, not allowing the flavors to stand out. The butter on the trout muniere was cold and congealed. Same with the gnocchi. The pork loin prunes were too much/strong and overwhelmed the dish. The potatoes were cold and congealed. It was all too salty. Again, hiding flavors. Overall we were very sad about the entire experience.
Went for restaurant week. Our server was AMAZING and the food was delicious. Every bite from the bread to dessert was well-thought out and well-prepared.
This is the place to go if you're not sure you like French food: it's buttery without being heavy, refined but accessible. This kitchen has such a way with vegetables. My teenager was fighting me for the last bites of green beans and cauliflower.
Always a great French meal- best escargot in Philadelphia!
We went for Restaurant Week with friends and almost got one of everything on the menu. Everything was excellent! Our favorites were the butternut squash soup, beef tartare, and foie gras appetizers, and gnocchi, chicken, and duck entrees.
Great food and environment. Only downside is that food took long to come within courses
Bistrot La Minette is ALWAYS a treat.
It was very crowded the night I went -- (Restaurant Week). I was almost sitting on the lap of the person next to me.
I didn't love the entree I chose---(a pork roll).
However, I look forward to coming back again and again.
One of the best meals I've had in Philly! I ordered the escargot, duck, and pot de creme and was amazed by each course. My husband ordered the salad, chicken (best chicken I've ever tasted!), and chocolate mousse cake. The service was fabulous and the quality of the food definitely did not suffer because it was Restaurant Week. I will return!
We have visited during Restaurant week and not and each time, we have been impressed by the quality of the food. Traditional French cuisine in a lovely setting, served by friendly but not overbearing wait staff.
This last time, we enjoyed the prix fixe $35.00 dinner special. We ordered the oeufs pecheur with the mussels (une delice! My husband wanted to lick his plate and told me he would order this every time), followed by the melt in your mouth roast chicken entree. I ordered the escargot appetizer, followed by the rabbit, also delicious. We finished an extra cheese plate, then with the opera cake and the raspberry millefeuille desserts. We polished off a delightful bottle of Bordeaux.
If I could improve upon one thing, I would switch out the Compte cheese with something a bit less ordinary, like a sliver of Reblochon or a Tomme de Savoie. Luckily, there was no Camembert or Brie served.
Excellent food experience! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Butternut squash soup, escargot appetizers, followed by rabbit and trout, finishing with the lemon tart and chocolate cake that my husband said was the best desert he has had in a restaurant in a very long time!! Bon Appetite!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. I highly recommend. The food is so good and the staff is very nice. We enjoyed the foie gras terrine, the poached egg appetizer with mussels and tarragon sauce as well as the trout and pork entrees. Delicious!!!
We went here on Sunday evening of restaurant week. We sat in the side room, which was great. Maybe not the same ambiance as the main room, but there were only 8 tables and it was easy to talk, etc. The food and service was fantastic. I wish I could remember the waiter's name, as he was excellent. We had the escargot and steak tartare for appetizers, the rabbit and the duck for our entries, and the assorted cheeses and a very light pastry dish for the desserts. Food was excellent. Highly recommend this gem.
We had a great anniversary meal during restaurant week! Everything was delicious.
We went for restaurant week. Our experience was okay. The food was good but nothing really noteworthy enough for us to have to come back.
