Located in Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C., Bistrot Du Coin serves up delicious French cuisine. Owners Yannis Felix and Michel Verdon opened Bistrot Du Coin's doors in 2000 for patrons to converse and have fun while enjoying their meals. This lovely restaurant has excellent authentic French food and the service is really good. We had escargot, cassoulet, Coq au Vin and the Mussels. The Creme Brulee is the most delicious I ever had. My only complaint about this restaurant is the decor. They have a lot of clutter and doll heads and old silk flowers all around that look like they havent been cleaned in years. The bathroom also needs a good cleaning.

For the past 20 years my husband and I have been dining at the Bistro du Coin whenever we visit DC. Having lived in France, I greatly appreciate the true French brasserie menu and ambience. The menu is full of wonderful classics like rabbit stew, escargots, blanquette de veau, cassoulet and pate de campagne. The wine list is extensive and very fairly priced. The service is friendly and efficient. Having an aperitif at the bar before dinner is very pleasant. At the bar there is a solid list of wines and champagnes by the glass and a broad selection of beers, most of them Belgian.

Overall the place is run down. Looks the same as 20 years ago. Bathroom was dirty with tissues overdlowing from the trashcan to the floor. The 2nd floor is used as storage with dusty big furnitures. When we asked to transfer to a bigger table, the waiter moved our glasses, with water in them, by putting one on top of the other. The bottom outside part of one glass was touching the drinking water inside the other glass. Unhygienic! Food taste was ok.

If your looking for a quite romantic dinner this is not your place. It’s very big and very crowded, the food flavor was ok. They only have a 3 or 4 waiters for a restaurante that seats over 100 people, so the service was not good. Would not go again

Bathroom is up a big flight of stairs and was very hot. No air conditioning. What to people in wheelchairs do? Very few fish or vegetarian dishes on menu.

We used to come here fairly often, but the food is steadily declining. I don't know how you can make coq au vin dry, but they managed it. It's a noisy place, but if you come before 7 you generally don't have to shout to be heard. They're charging a 4% "inflation" fee. We probably won't be back till that's gone, if we ever return, because the last few visits have been disappointing.

Bistros Du Coin was a fun restaurant to visit. It has a fun, lively ambience, and the service was great. The highlight was the mussel dish which we shared - mussels in a delicious tomato based sauce which we all loved.

If you enjoyed eating in your high school cafeteria then this place is for you! Tables jammed together in a single large room; so loud I had to shout for my table mate to hear me. I don't know how this place passes a fire code inspection. The only thing that wasn't like a high school cafeteria was the price. Skip this place at all costs!

They tack on a 4% service charge at the end for some vague reason to do with inflation. It's posted in the menu but it's a sneaky strategy that stinks.

Food was just okay. No soap in either restroom with a sign on the wall that said employees must wash their hands. When I let the waiter (and what appeared to be the front of house manager) know, no one cared.

Stopped for dinner and found the restaurant busy but we were nicely greeted and seated right away. The menu was French and meat centric. People around us were locals who seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were disappointed. It wasn’t bad. It was just not as good as we expected. We sent a steak back because it was way over salted. The French Navarin, the Lyonaise salad, the pate were all French standards that probably were made by someone who had never been to France. For 2 aps, 2 mains, one desert and a bottle of house wine and tip cost a little over $200. They also charge 4% surcharge for inflation.

I know this is a favorite neighborhood place but Friday night was not a good night. We got there before our preservation so we sat at the bar. We never got called to a table. Ever. So we ate at the bar. We were pretty much ignored at the bar by the bartender. I ordered the fillet. The fries were delicious, as were the green beans. But I could not eat much of my fillet because it was so heavily seasoned With salt, pepper and other herbs. I love fillet, but this one was overly seasoned which always makes me wonder about the quality of the cut the chef is trying to hide. In addition, I ordered medium rare and it was rare. So much that my friend asked,”Are you going to be able to eat that?” It was huge so I took it home, and lwiped all the extra salt and pepper off with a paper towel, and it was delicious the next day as leftovers The drinks were good. It was super crowded and super loud. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Wonderful dinner at Bistrot du Coin! Just like a quick trip to Paris. Loved the authentic ambiance, loved the delicious cuisine, loved the friendly service!! Will definitely be back next time I’m in DC!

Nice restaurant set up with a French bistro vibe on Connecticut Avenue. The decor is worth a good look anat and the food is good as well. This is not your fancy five star, French chef, but rather a café, serving the every day fare of Metropolitan France, modified, of course, for being in the USA.
