This has been a favorite since ourson moved to
Everything was mediocre…would not recommend to ANYONE
Excellent food. Terrific service.
Best restaurant in town!
Food emisora great specially the onion soup and the steak tartar
We enjoyed our meal immensely! It had been many years since our last meal at Bistro Du Coin and we were not disappointed this time - Same wonderful food and service. Although the restaurant was very busy on a Weds. evening the service was excellent and food pipping hot. We would recommend to anyone looking for a very casual setting with excellent food. Easily accessed by Metro.
After 20 years, still the best French bistro around. Amazing chicken and fries, and the salads are terrific. The wine specials are very reasonable. One of the places my wife and I love to visit time and time again.
Outstanding dining experience!
One of my favorites in DC...its like being in Paris....go
The bistro is where we dine whenever we visit DC. Last night’s foie gras did not disappoint. The service was timely but never pushy.
Bistro du Coin is back and better than ever. Even with today’s inflation rate and supply chain issues, they’ve held the line on their steak dishes, while maintaining quality. We had the steak maison and it was solid. Plenty of their great frites and a generous cut. For under $30. The escargot was piping hot and super tasty, served with plenty of their great baguette. The cheese plate was a nice variety, although that could have been a little more substantial but otherwise, a great meal, a great lively atmosphere. Don’t miss out on their wine specials. They had a list of ten French wines, among them, a 2005 St Emillion which would normally be well north of $100 in a restaurant, priced at $69, and it was amazing. Their sommelier clearly knows their stuff, getting a prime vintage and pricing it this low. And there were plenty priced in the $40 range that were quite good as well. I’m putting Bistro du Coin back towards the top of my list for meeting friends who appreciate a good meal at a very good price.
I didn’t love the stew, but the escargot, drinks and other dishes we got were amazing. It has a classic French bistrot feel, and nails most of the classic French dishes.
very energetic but that means really loud. Had to really speak in a yell for my table mates to hear me. Food came out really fast and waiter seemed to want to rush us. Waiter never checked back in after food came. I was never offered drink refill, needed to grab someone for a knife etc. That being said, food was good, onion soup delicious.
Fantastic food and wine! I can heartily recommend the onion soup, the escargots, and the steak frites. I have been going here for years and it never disappoints. It is the best French restaurant in DC, in my humble opinion.
Once again, sensational! The cassoulet is my go to dish here. Great vibe. Friendly staff and outstanding food. The wine selection is very nice.
Mediocre food and service. Sat at bar and experiences absent bar tender. Waitress made the mediocre drinks (martinis). Salad Roquefort was dry (no dressing) and cheese was dry. Moules Frites were worst I have ever had. Wait staff were disorganized and harried. No waiter appeared to be assigned to any table.
Too many other restaurants to choose from.
One of my go-to's for DC. Cool neighborhood, bustling Parisian cafe ambiance, solid wine list, and good food.
The menu consists of the classics you'd expect in a french restaurant; they do a North African sausage that is unique and tasty, and they have a nice selection of mussel pots. They also do mini-ravioli's that are a can't miss.
I've been here 5+ times over the years, sampled most of the menu, and left happy every time.
Was super excited about eating here but enthusiasm dimmed upon arrival. Spoke some French with man (owner?) who sat us, but he wasn't interested in further conversation—sat us without engaging us. Lackluster staff (maybe Sunday night vibe?). Beef stew had good flavor but meat was tough when it should have been tender and fallen apart without needing sawing with dull knife. Would have tried dessert but felt they were anxious to close soon. Plastic red-white-checked tablecloths and paper napkins could use an upgrade to take ambience up a notch or two. Honestly, wouldn't go back... :(
Very tacky place
Stick with the mussels. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic as always
Always a true respite; consistently outstanding and pleasant.
Love this spot - the food is so good and you can have quite a nice meal without totally breaking the bank. Having mussels feels like such a treat.
Great food and service, as is usual for Bistrot Du Coin! I miss the Little Sweeties in the frisée salad! But it was still delicious!
Very lively old restaurant with a fun vibe and good food. Not crowded when we first arrived but busier and noisier by the time we left. Would definitely return.
Food was mediocre. They were playing Spanish music at a French restaurant.
Took forever for the main course. Seemed as if our table was invisible. Food was very salty. Kitchen was unorganized. Best part of the meal was a draft beer and dessert.
Best anniversary date ever
Trip to DC
I have been coming to dinner for delicious meals for years. We had our casual rehearsal dinner here. Our entire party enjoyed their food and wines and the prices kept us at budget!
Our favorite restaurant managed to exceed our expectations. Mussels, cream of mushroom soup, filet de beouf and coq au vin were sublime.
Slow service, dull, tragic food…. Nothing like I once remembered it to be. So sad…. I hope they get a wake up call and get it together soon! Great French Cuisine is hard to come by in DC!!
Bistrot Du Coin is always a safe bet for a good, consistent meal. Wine selection by the glass is ample and affordable. We had a great waiter that added to a pleasurable dining experience.
Great dinner. Mussels were delicious. Steak with Roquefort sauce was perfect. Price was very reasonable. Cool French bistro that filled up entirely as we finished by our dinner.
Very loud. Not much of a French experience with Bruce Springsteen music - although i love him - playing loudly and bright fluorescent overhead lighting. Not a quiet romantic spot, nor a cute, cozy cafe…
Food was average, no unique flavors or presentation.
This is one of the few places we visit every time we are in town. The food is always very good, the service always friendly and the atmosphere a lively buzz of good times.
The wait staff were not as attentive as we’re used to from this restaurant. We had to seek them out in order to ask for anything we wanted. The food also was below the quality that we’re used to here.
One of our favorites. As usual it did not disappoint! The coq au vin is not to be missed.
Food was excellent, but we waited 15 minutes after sitting down before anyone even spoke to us--and then it's because we called out to a passing server. Great food, meh service.
Despite having reservations and being on time, we were left standing at the front door with no one to greet us or seat us. After trying to get the attention of several waiters whizzing by us, we had to get the bartender’s attention for advice. These guys are clearly understaffed. The person who finally sat us down seemed to annoyed and overwhelmed.
We ate streetside so of course it was a bit noisier than inside, but it didn't take away from the deliciousness of the food! Can't wait to return for more!
