   There is a reason this restaurant has been the Number One restaurant on the island and has been for years. It was Number One when we were here 10 years ago and still Number One today. In fact, we think it is better now than then and that is an accomplishment in and of itself. We picked a 3 lb lobster from the rock tank out front and had it thermidor style. Everything was suburb from the bread to the profitores for dessert. And the service was attentive but not intrusive. Be sure to make a reservation tho to secure a table.

   Wonderful restaurant. Onion soup and lobster bisque was fantastic. Red snapper was unbelievably good. Deserts were the highlight.

   The Lobster Thurmador was amazing! The service was outstanding! I just wish they had gave more guidance on the amount of lobster that will feed a group. We had a 5 lb, 3.5 lb, and about another 3lb for three people. The 5lb would have fed us all. If they would be more honest in the amount needed they would get more return visits. We spent close to $400 for our meal with 6.5 lbs of lobster and 20% tip, and our Friend near $300.

   The lobster thermador was a really impressive dish. Picking out my own lobster and getting a picture taken with it certainly added to the experience. Prices are a bit steep and (by American standards) the service was slow. Felt like we needed to flag down a server any time we needed anything. It was a 15 minute wait before our first drink order was taken. I know that may be a cultural difference but it made it frustrating because everyone seemed to almost ignore us. The bill was pretty expensive as well, even in comparison to other restaurants of similar caliber elsewhere on the island. Ambiance was fine, felt like for the price we should have had a water view. Best part was the quality of the food, and since everything tastes great it all rounds to a 4 out of 5 stars from me.

   We visited on April 3 and were disappointed especially since this restaurant is highly rated. The restaurant chose to leave the front doors open so we smelled cigarette smoke and diesel fumes from trucks that kept driving by the entire dinner. It made no sense to keep the door open when they had the air conditioning blasting. Who wants to eat while smelling cigarettes and diesel fumes? We were served by 6 different people which was incredibly disorganized and bad service overall. One gave us someone’s foie gras when we were waiting on dessert. My husband’s wine glass was dirty and had stuff floating in it. The escargot lacked flavor, the lobster bisque was flavorful but it had no lobster in it, the beef tenderloin was not tender and the lamb shank was ok. We also had the chocolate cake and the Profiteroles which both were really good. We were there celebrating my birthday and my husband let them know that in the reservation as well as in person but they did not bring our desserts out with a “happy birthday”, a candle, etc. We felt we were treated quite poorly by one of the French waitresses who just had an overall poor attitude. This restaurant quite literally put a major damper on my birthday especially when we had an amazing day exploring the island. I personally do not recommend this restaurant at all.

   Seven of us with a 4 yr old had an absolutely delightful dining experience last night! It was Carnival so there was so much fun going on! The food was perfect, the service on point, overall 4 stars
