One of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. Wonderfully authentic food from wonderfully warm and authentic chef Marcial and staff.
Yummy squash soup and duck confit. Helpful service. Nice cote du rhone. Will definitely go back!
In open at a convention. Come to Chicago fairly often. Food missed the mark. Dishes overpowered by some ingredients. For example lobster dish was overpowered by some type of salami that eliminated the ability to taste other ingredients. Soup if the day overly rich with no hint of the vegetables made with. Bread was good but not warm. Caesar salad described as something special on menu with lemon but no different than any other restaurant. Service was pleasant but left one item out that we ordered but wasn’t charged for it so didn’t complain. Overall nice fold running it but not worth the price.
Food was hit or miss. Onion soup was horrible. the gnocchi was mushy. Service was good. Could have been fantastic, but they just missed on some of the food preparation.
It was our first time. Really liked it. N8ce atmosphere. Very good service and nice food. We has escargot, also tuna salad and steak. Everything was yammy!
Pretty good food but expensive. The best was the seafood pasta. Beet salad was bland.
My son chose this restaurant for a post-marathon dinner and we couldn't be happier that he did. We were seated in the back, which was comfortable and quiet (why do so many restaurants think customers like noise??). I had lamb chops, which were cooked exactly as requested, and extremely good quality. Even though lamb is my favorite meat, my son's Filet Mignon was even better, and my Significant Other had one of the best roast chickens that she's ever had. Overall, a winner.
My new favorite brunch spot! The mimosas are tremendous value. Loved the food. Service was excellent!
What a delight this restaurant was. The owner greeted us warmly at the door. We had the country pate which was delicious. I had the salmon which was perfectly prepared and my husband enjoyed steak and frites, also perfect. Loved this place, felt like being in France.
This is not the usual French sense of welcome. Mechaninal service even when the chef/owner was doing the welcoming. This was my 6 or so time there in as many months and though I have met the chef and talked with him on numerous occasions, not a hint of recognition. Not stylish. Time to read Danny Meyer’s book on hospitality.
Always dependable, well executed, French bistro food. Wait staff always accommodating, friendly, and efficient. I go often!
Consistently delicious. There was a small error with our order that was immediately corrected and handled perfectly.
Bad all around. Would not recommend.
The service was great. I had duck and it wasn’t the best I’ve had. Husband had white fish which was okay. The table are rather close together. Wanted to like it more. Won’t be going back. Service was great.
The food and service here is great! They have the best mimosa special around!
Love this family-owned French restaurant.
I’m allergic to dairy, and I find it infinitely easier ordering food in Paris than at this restaurant. Unnecessary additions of butter and cheese in everything, even in traditional French foods that don’t typically include dairy. How disappointing.
This is a delightful restaurant choice. Food is delicious and creative. We would recommend the Escargot, Country Pate, Filet au Poivre, and Steak Frites, but be sure to save room for their wonderful take on Cheesecake! We will return here for sure.
Outstanding meal again. Worth coming for the black and white creme brulee alone.
Went there with my wife for our 1 year anniversary...the food and service was outstanding.
Taylor the chef came and spent sometime with us after our meal and we shared a glass of wine while we had a great conversation ..
Not only would I highly recommend this place- We WILL be going back..and bringing friends!
Not only did we enjoy really good food, but the personalized service that the staff gave (even the owner came by the table a few times!) added to an already great experience. I personally recommend the Escargot and the beet salad. The pictures don't do it justice, but we enjoyed the burger, salmon and fettuccine. We highly recommend Bistronomic and will come back the next time we're in Chicago!
My wife and I loved dinner here. The service and food were excellent! We had such a great time we will be sure to go back again.
Warm, friendly service. Great cocktails, excellent wine. Exceptional food! A family favorite!!
Excellent Place for a girlie brunch!
The atmosphere was good! We were seated outside as the weather was nice.
The food was good!
Reliably good -- authentic French. We like to taste a lot of different things, so we ordered five small plates for dinner for the three of us and couldn't actually finish the last one and had no room for dessert (tragic).
Bistronomic keeps getting better and better. The menu is broad. I love restaurants where it's hard to choose because there are so many excellent choices. I need to go back this month so the spectacular pasta with mushrooms (chantarelles) is still on the seasonal menu. My husband had it and I had a perfect salad. Food jealousy!
Wonderful meal the charcuterie plate was especially good. The lamb chops were great and the steak with frites excellent.
Excellent food and attentive service. We were there for a birthday and they went above and beyond to help us celebrate.
Amazing, beautiful food! Felt like I was back in France! Will return next time I’m in Chicago!
Excellent food in a fine French restaurant. Attentive and caring service.
Reception a little chilly (as was the air conditioning), but service was friendly. Charcuterie were ample and delicious. Companion raved about the diver scallops. Here and everywhere we went in Chicago, the white wine arrived over-chilled and took awhile to bloom.
It's hard to believe that this excellent restaurant keeps getting better and better. If only the magical vegetable veloute with bits of duck confit and oranges would come into the permanent menu. Or the short rib my husband called the best he's ever had. Coming back soon.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Liver mousse to die for. Outstanding burger. Fun specialty drinks. Among 5 of us, we tried most of these drinks and each was better than the other. One issue - the bar doesn't carry Belvedere vodka - what gives?!
Online the menu looked wonderful. Our reservation was for 5 people. After sitting down and ordering some drinks, we later ordered some food. One member of the party just had a coffee a 2 eggs, another just fries. All the food came together, past 30 minutes, cold, or should I say "death from the window". Not event the plates were warm. The eggs lacked seasoning, and we had none at the table. Our server seemed to take very long between touches. For having only 3 tables on the patio, and not son many occupied ones inside, I don't understand why it took so long to bring the food? And why the service was so slow?
Great place, great location, great menu, poor delivery and performance.
First time there. Our waiter made great suggestions. The food was creative, well presented and great.
This place is always great and consistent. Incredibly friendly and wonderful service. The chicken is not of the best we have had. A neighborhood gem for sure.
It's just a really good restaurant. Surprisingly good food. I had the escargot, which was fantastic - they did something magical with the basil. Pate was very good, and the lamb was great - everything was very flavorful without being overpowering, lots of layers and subtlety in the food. Well prepared. Service was outstanding - attentive without being intrusive, very friendly. I'm surprised it's not more well-known - excellent dining experience, highly recommended.
Bistronimic is truly one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The food never disappoints, great wine line (at reasonable prices) and the staff is exceptional. In a relatively busy area of town but once inside it is busy but not overwhelming. Outside seating nice in spring and fall. One of our favorite restaurants in the city. A MUST TRY!
We went for brunch on a Sunday. Had a reservation through OpenTable. Placed at a table in the front of the restaurant and then got basically forgot. Numerous servers walked by and glanced at us but nobody came to our table. After about 15 minutes we had to flag down someone and ask if we could get served. The worst service we have had in Chicago.
Soups excellent. Underwhelming entrees with too many flavors and food mixing. Too much going on with entrees to enjoy the taste. Waiters always seemed rush and restaurant only a third full.
