bistronomic Ratings and Reviews
Staff were very accommodating, attentive and friendly. We were a party of 7, seated immediately next to another large party, the noise level was loud at times and difficult to always hear others a few seats away. The food was divine and everyone enjoyed their choices. The St. Germaine Spritzer and coffee were highly complimented by all of us.
French influence without drowning in rich sauces. Mussels we're outstanding. Don't waste calories on the bread without absorbing ALL of the broth... amazing. The ahi tuna appetizer is delicious, you may order two! Entrees are beautifully prepared. We will definitely be back.
We have been here frequently. It is generally very solid. Excellent Leyonais Salad. However, It is a little disappointing that what they promote as their signature dish (the award winning hamburger) is only available Sundays and Mondays. The $35 corkage fee is also pretty high for a neighborhood restaurant.
We came here for my bestie’s birthday. The traffic was so bad that day because of parade on Michigan Ave so we were late for almost an hour. I felt very sorry but the host made us feel very welcome and sat us right away. Everything was so tasty and the chef even gave us a complimentary lemon tart for my friend’s birthday. Service is great. A lot of the staff here are European, according to their accent. :) a truly French experience in Chi(c) town
On a recent Friday night at Bistronomic, the food was exquisite, and the overall experience made us feel truly pampered. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted warmly, and the hostess, chef, and others visit your table periodically to make sure you are well taken care of. The restaurant was full, yet service was professional and relaxed and timing was perfect. Crusty french bread and the wine we ordered arrived without delay. The chef, who is French, is a wizard with classic French dishes, adding his own unique and modern touches. Our roasted chicken was superb, as were the endive and kale salad with crunchy nuts and blue cheese and the gnocchi enriched with chicken (we think). The chef has added a new dessert to the menu - a crepe with apples and ice cream that was mouth watering. All the desserts here are excellent - again classics with a twist - with flavors we can relate to and enjoy rather than hodge-podges of strange ingredients that don't come together or satisfy at the end of a meal. Bistronomic is a restaurant well worth enjoying. You will feel special even if you are not there for a special occasion.
Understaffed and unaware. Asked for them to not put pate on the burger but it came out with it. Brought to their attention and it came back 2 minutes later with it scraped off. Said there was no way they could have remade it (a burger takes longer than 2 minutes) but I took chance anyway and halfway through some of it was on the other half! The manager said they remade it and I told her that was impossible because there would be no pate on it if they had remade it.
No water or coffee for the first 10-15 minutes (had to ask twice). Overheard the people next to me say, "....they screwed up his order too".
No amount of bottomless mimosas would have helped.
Disappointing experience overall. Waitstaff didn’t seem very knowledgeable and I had to send my undercooked food back. My date’s steak frites was just average and seemed like an inferior cut of meat. There are much better French bistros in the area that I’d recommend over Bistronomic.
The hostesses were so kind and helpful as we waited for our table. The food was FANTASTIC, I need more stars to rate the amazing cuisine. The sauces were seasoned to perfection and the meal was everything we were hoping for on our first visit. Chef made his way around the restaurant a couple times to make sure the customers were enjoying his kitchens culinary master pieces. Our waitress was rather unattentive which made us feel we were an inconvenience or after thought however we weren’t there for her. We would definitely eat here again because the food and atmosphere made the dinner special. Thanks chef!
I had dinner with 3 of my girlfriends. Between us, we sampled the fish special (whitefish), the steak frites, and the scallops. To a person, we were each happy with our entrees. Desserts included the apple crepe and the almond joy special - portions were modest and we could easily have each had our own. However, both were delicious. Prices are reasonable and we will definitely return.
