Always a fabulous dining experience, and the staff welcomes you as an old, dear friend.
I would definitely recommend Bistronomic and would dine here again!
What a hidden gem! The food here was fabulous! Amongst our party, we tried almost everything on the menu and it was so delicious. Steak frites, steak au poivre, chicken pasta and Mediterranean salmon were outstanding. I was scared to try it but the tuna tartar was was remarkable! Cheese plate, carrot soup, and the pate we're delicious and the perfect size to start. The lemon tart was tangy and not too sweet with such a beautiful presentation. Creme brulee was rich and creamy and the chocolate hazelnut bars were decadent.
A lot of French was spoken around the restaurant, so I think this is a place that French visitors to Chicago seek out. The chef stopped by our table to wish us a "bon appetit!" The service was truly French-style--a little slower than we're used to in America. There wasn't any pressure to rush through the meal.
The prices are reasonable considering the Gold Coast location and the prix fixe is a good deal and has a significant amount of food. Street parking was available on a Friday at 7:30! But there are also several parking garages and it is very close to the Chicago red line station.
The hostess wanted to seat us outside( 58 degrees and started to rain)... even more unpleasantly she was trying to say that the young hostess understood we want to be outside ... nobody mentioned that anyway... just the restaurant was almost full and she simply decided to get rid of us... btw: we had a reservation... Now: the chicken was undercooked... pink I side... we left it there... we did not complaint... the server was a doll...
We were a group of 6, looking for a fun place to dine with good food. Overall, most of us left disappointed with the service and the food.
We came on a weeknight and the place was pretty busy, but not packed. It was our server’s first night - and it showed. She was slow and inattentive. It took almost 30 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we received our drinks. She didn’t do any quality checks during our dinner.
Our meals were hit or miss. I loved my soup and salad, but no one else enjoyed their dinner. Two people in my group ordered the “award-winning” burger and both left theirs half-eaten. The table next to us waited close to two hours for their meals and were leaving the restaurant when their dinner arrived. We felt badly for the family, as we ordered our dinners after them and finished ours before their meals even arrived. We don’t blame them for being upset.
I’m going to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and hope this was a one-off.
A bastion of French cuisine that struggles in meat and potatoes Chicago
Fantastic food and service. Thanks!
Our visit to bistronomic was fantastic! The food was AMAZING -- english pea ravioli, cheese plate, steaks, stone bass -- each one stood out with flavor and were perfectly prepared. The service staff were attentive and responsive (and not at all annoying - Smile). I highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We had an amazing Father’s Day here. The ambiance was perfect and the food was rich as well as delicious. I highly recommended this establishment and would love to dine again when I return to Chicago in the future.
Best chef. Best food. Reasonable prices. Period. Dog friendly patio
Amazing place. We have come two times already and love more every time we come back. the service is impeccable, food is delicious and typical French (I am French so can assess!). It is very, very reasonably priced for the quality of food you get.
My husband and I loved the great food and service. We would definitely go back again.
Horrific dining experience. Rude bartenders, poor service/waitstaff, would never go back again!
Our party of 4 tried different entrees: duck, sea bass and chicken. We agreed that the food was excellent.
Great location close to hotels and Michigan Ave. We had a group of 9 people for brunch on a Saturday. We booked our reservation through open table, which was fantastic and very easy.
I had the Croque-Madame and it was excellent- great bread and large portion size.
We were there for our daughters graduation dinner and it was a bit difficult to visit because of the volume in the reastaurant, but the food was amazing, good service and I would definitely go back with a smaller group!
From entering into the restaurant till finishing our meal the service and attention was above most other establishments. The food and presentation was c’est magnifique!
We will definitely be coming back.
While visiting from Texas, my husband & I discovered this wonderful resturant. Food, wine & service were all excellent but it was the feeling that we had discovered a relaxed ambiance where friends meet to share good food, wine & conversation that made our evening meal so special.
Everything was wonderful. Service from Jeremy absolutely outstanding. If I could have fit more food in my belly, I would have. I will be back.
I’m going back to basics. I haven’t been to Bistronomic in years and chose it for my birthday dinner because I’m tired of trying new places and being disappointed.
Mussels perfect not fishy with a nice, not too salty broth
Duck done perfectly with bits of citrus
Lamb also perfect with enough hints of horseradish and garlic
Lemon tart yum
Yes, I shared all of this delicious food
Great place for lunch.
The food and wines were a good value. We are repeat customers and we keep coming back.
Amazing staff, food and experience! From the moment we walked in and were so warmly greeted to the end of the night as we walked out...we loved it! Fantastic food and presentation. Try the pate!
We look forward to every opportunity to dine at this lovely local gem. The mood is celebratory and the food is amazingly prepared and presented. Charcuterie is the best we have had - since dining in Paris. The wine selection is very good and the servers are well-versed. Steak frites — delicious— and fish — perfect every time. Look forward to our next visit.
Another wonderful dinner at Bistronomic. We were allowed to choose our table outside. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Wonderful craft cocktails. We had the PEI Mussels, Belgian Endive and Arugala, and Ravioli du Jour which were all delicious. Chef Martial Nougier and his wife stopped by separately to check on and make sure our meal was to our liking. Bistronomic is a real gem in the Gold Coast!
We’ve been to Bistronomic many times and always enjoy the ambiance and food. The chef and manager came to our table to inquire about how we were enjoying our dinner.
The prix fixe meal had excellent choices.
Was excited to try a new restaurant and based on reviews and the lunch menu figured I would try it out.
When I arrived everyone was nice and accommodating but found out only their brunch menu was available at 1pm. Not a problem but was very limited for options.
Tried the turkey club and have to say it was the worst turkey club I have ever had. Was a single slice of turkey between 2 thin slices of brioche with tomato slice and some really over cooked bacon. Again not even close to a turkey club sandwich you would expect. It simply was a small sandwich with a very thin small slice of turkey. Should rename it as a simple turkey sandwich.
Fries were good.
So based on the food I would give it barely fair and compared to the price it is a bad value. Certainly hope their lunch or dinner options are better than brunch but don’t think I will be returning.
There was a hair in my food. They replaced it and apologized, then took it off the check which I appreciated.
We were there on a Tuesday and enjoyed the prix fixe menu for $34. Fit for foodies, we loved the celery soup, chicken and salmon entrees and desert varieties. Would definitely return next time on town.
We had a birthday and graduation evening and it could not have been more perfect. Ambience, food, wait staff...........everything was unbelievably wonderful!!!
This was our first visit to Bistronomic; I don't know why. The ambiance, service and food were all top-notch. We'll be back soon.
celebrating Mothers day and daughters birthday....
everyone we encountered was polite and refreshing ...I really did enjoy experience.
Food and drinks ,DeLish!!
Very attentive to our needs and requests, food was excellent and the staff made you feel as if you’d been dining with them forever. Great place.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere. Definitely will return to again.
Went with the prix fixe menu and ordered tuna tartare, salmon and creme brûlée. Each course was outstanding and at $39 a great value. This was our third or fourth visit here, and the food quality and service is consistently excellent.
A very French, relaxed approach to dining. Good wine choices and a very reasonably priced pris fixe menu. The home style country pate first course was the favorite appetizer among 3 diners. I loved my duck entree , while the other 2 had the scallops which they said were good. The black and white creme brûlée dessert was excellent, as was the profiteroles dessert...reminded me of Paris! So if you like French food and reasonable prices, this is a good choice...just don’t be in a hurry as they take their time just like bistros all over France.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Many plate size options to fit any appetite and lots of variety to choose from. The fixed price specials change frequently and are a very good value.
I rarely write reviews but enjoyed this one enough to do so! Lots of availability during a busy Sunday in Chicago - and we were lucky to find it!
Greeted so warmly by a nice woman who offered to hold our suitcases for us. She really was so welcoming and made us immediately settle in for a leisurely brunch with the bottomless mimosas.
Cauliflower soup was amazing. If the offer it, get it. Mushroom omelet was also delicious and my friend got the Benedict and she said those were also delish. We did not feel rushed, noise allowed us to have a great chat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better brunch. I’m actually glad our first choice didn’t have any availability because this should have been our first choice. Glad we had the opportunity to enjoy it and can’t recommend it enough!
Wonderful outside seating, the restaurants ambience is very French, good service and bistro fare
We had an early dinner here before a dance performance and received a warm welcome, great service an excellent food. We stayed at the Sofitel nearby, so this dinner was the perfect complement to our french getaway in Chicago. We will definitely go back. Everything was good, but the pate appetizer and the lemon tart were particularly to our liking.
Really enjoyed ourselves. Mark the waiter was fantastic. It's a great place to share and try multiple dishes.
