Bistro Vendome Ratings and Reviews
Valentines Day dinner. Place was packed but service was extraordinary. Everyone here is super nice and wants you to have a good experience. My only complaint is that the Bouillabaisse was a bit skimpy on the seafood. My husband had the venison and it was to notch. Had the new grapefruit panna cotta and it was memorable. Great evening out!
Bistro Vendome never disappoints. We had an amazing Valentine's Dinner and absolutely loved everything we ordered. We opted to stay at the bar for a few more glasses of wine, which was a lot of fun! We even got to meet Jennifer Jasinski, Executive Chef who could not have been more lovely! We love all of her spots and look forward to dining with her team whenever possible!
Our experience here was wonderful. Staff was extremely friendly and waitress was a gem. She was timely, attentive, knowledgeable and honest. Food was excellent. Cheese appetizer was light and delicious, the sourdough baguette was crunchy and fresh and the chef provided amuse bouche was creamy and tasty. Entrees were both fishes dishes but very fresh, extremely flavorful and light. Excellent balance of flavors and was an absolute delight. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back for anothet visit!
I have been to this restaurant several times and it never disappoints! The last visit was with friends who had never been before and they really enjoyed it as well. We drank lots of wine and sampled pretty much every appetizer on the menu - all of which were great! :) Suggest doing a tasting menu.
It was our first time here and my husband's first time eating well prepared French cuisine. It was a cold, snowy night so we ate inside instead of the patio, but it looks like they have a beautiful garden patio area in warmer weather. He had the 1/2 chicken which was very tasty (he shared) and I ordered the scallops. We were pretty disappointed in my scallops as it was a very small portion. Only 4 medium scallops over a delicious sauce. I would think for the price there would have been sides or more scallops with that particular entree. My husband's chicken was around the same price and way, way bigger with tasty sides so luckily he shared as I did still leave a little hungry. We split the apple pastry dessert and it was absolutely delicious. We wished we had time to order another. We would definitely go here again, I would just not order the scallops and remember that the portions are small. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Bistro Vendome was delightful! We arrived for an early dinner reservation and were able to take advantage of happy hour prices at the cozy bar. As soon as our table was ready, we were seated in an intimate room and had very attentive service the entire meal. Everything was delicious and well-presented. Mussels were excellent! Salad was delicious! My only complaint is that the dinner special was attractive but not much food! I was eyeing my brother-in-law's steak frite pretty hungrily! Creme brulee was delicious but could have been a bit warmer. Chocolate dessert was to die for! I will definitely visit Bistro Vendome again!
Bistro Movie Night is the perfect dinner and a movie date! In addition to being one of our top five restaurants in Denver, their Monday night movies and prix-fixe menus are always excellent. The movies range from old classics like Casablanca to new films like La La Land and the menu selections reflect the movie themes! One could not ask for better service in such an intimate and comfortable setting. The Bistro Vendome team is always top drawer!
The most recent menu is attached.
The relatively quiet streets on Mondays are also a draw!
While generally we had very good service, I was a bit disappointed in how the waitress handled my niece’s conundrum. She is quite well traveled and not a rube, nor is she a rude person. Briefly, she ordered a glass of Cote de Rhône which was bad – probably had been open too long. She wrestled with even bringing it to the waitresse’s attention, however I told her they would likely want to know. The waitress did replace the glass of wine, but then in bringing the substitute glass of wine, commented that my niece’s dissatisfaction was probably due to her lack of wine sophistication/ knowledge rather than being served a bad bottle of wine. It left a “bad finish” in her dining experience, in what was otherwise a lovely dinner.
Well, the onion soup and warm gouda salad was delicious. We ordered the cassoulet and after waiting for it to cool down because it came piping hot, I took a couple of bites and stopped. It was so salty I could not finish the dish. My husband was starving and finished it by drinking a lot of water in between. This is my favorite dish and I was so disappointed. I do thank them for not charging me for my entree. I went away hungry!
Bistro Vendome was my first restaurant in Denver, my first favorite. Rarely ever did it disappoint. As recently as December I had a fine meal there. But yesterday...the worst meal I've ever had there; a dish I couldn't finish and didn't even want to take home. I've heard from other friends since that it has been going steadily downhill...is this restaurant empire extending itself at the expense of quality? I didn't want to believe it, but, if this past week is any indication, the answer is yes.
We wanted a simple mid-week dinner, and we always want les moules because this is the ONLY restaurant around that prepares them simply with white wine and we also enjoyed the steak frites perfectly does medium rare--perfection all around. Thanks for another wonderful evening.
We had tickets to a show starting at 7:30 pm a few blocks away and arrived at the restaurant around 5:45 pm. Our waiter asked us what time we needed to leave the restaurant and made sure that we were able to eat both courses that we ordered without feeling rushed and he got us out on time. The food was excellent and all personnel we came in contact with were very professional and courteous. Such a pleasure to eat here. Highly recommend.
I visited Denver two years ago and was so impressed with this restaurant that on my return trip it was a must. Excellent food, casual yet classy and comfortable atmosphere, and the waitstaff are very helpful in their explanations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially if you are looking for something out of the ordinary.
