Bistro Vendome Ratings and Reviews
I dined here earlier this week and ordered escargot and a filet, both beautifully executed. The decor makes you feel like you are in a French cafe. There is a lovely outdoor patio in the front, sheltered and off the street. Service was excellent. Highly recommended!
Wonderful outdoor patio. A friend of mine and I dined on steak tartar, chicken crepes, fries, and a beet salad and nicoise salad. It was just enough combined with a great bottle of Cheverny. Service was nice but didn't know much about the wine list and seemed a little new, but overall was good.
My favorite brunch spot - hands down. I had the potato galette with duck confit, and it was beautiful on the plate and amazing to the palette. Their croissants remind me of those in Paris. We also enjoyed Kir Royale, another fond reminder of my favorite city.
For those of you who remember Cafe Promenade from the 1980s, French food is back in Larimer Square. Not as haute, but in the casual Bistro style, with an enjoyable, shady outdoor patio steps from the steps that used to lead to Cafe Promenade.
The service was great, and perfectly paced at 5 p.m. to get us to a 7:30 p.m. curtain. The specials were. The wine list extensive, but not over-priced. J'aime Vendome!
What a gem!We love this restaurant, it's our go to place for a taste of France. On Thursday evenings there is a market fresh and seasonal tasting menu with wine pairs, always a wonderful choice. The wait staff are excellent and very efficient! Love brunch at Bistro Vendome.
The patio is the perfect spot for a summer brunch. I love the location--off the street and tucked in an attractive alley--very European! We had a delightful time--attentive service, beautiful surroundings and wonderful food. We will return, and will recommend the restaurant to friends.
We've eaten at Bistro Vendome twice in the past year, both times with our dog on the patio. Both times we were not disappointed, either by the food, the service, or the ambiance. From the warm, buttery baguette to the ambuse bouche, to the amazing scallop and roughy appetizer, to the trout and steak frite with bearnaise sauce, this is classic French at its best. We asked the waiter for recommendations on what fish and what sauce to choose and were very pleased we did.On our recent visit, staff was just as friendly and welcoming to our beagle as they had been the first time. An evening rain threatened to put a damper on the meal, since we had to stay outside with our dog. The staff quickly found a patio umbrella and saved the day.Merci!
Great food and atmosphere. Service was good. Entres served warm at best. Ordered a $120.00 bottle of Champagne and had to pour it ourselves.waitperson never attended to our empty glasses. Compted us for 2 two cocktails and 2 glasses of wine for the warm entres.
Service was really lacking. No bread to start, took 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress. Service was super slow to get a drinknor bottle of wine. Food took forever to cone out. Worst service we have had at bistro, I'll spend money elsewhere next time.
My husband dined at Bistro Vendome for the first time on our 24th wedding anniversary, and it didn't disappoint. We started with the mussels, which some of the best, if not the best, we've ever had. They were fresh and perfectly prepared. Our fish and steak were delicious, and the chocolate tart for dessert was heavenly. The crust literally melted in our mouths and the caramel sauce was the perfect consistency.
Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was magical. We felt as thought we'd been transported to Paris for the night. We highly recommend it!
