Birthday celebration!!!! My favorite French restaurant in Denver. Cozy, amazing food and excellent service!
This spot is great for pre-theater, as it is about 3 blocks from the Performing Arts Center. Their outside patio is wonderful for warmer weather. An almost-authentic French Bistro, close enough for me! Will return.
Staff brought complementary champagne and reseated is at a lovely quiet table
French-inspired fare with exceptional creativity, creative cocktails, great wine list, Bistro Vendome is an outstanding venue offering food as art with sensational flavors. Very convenient for dinner, drinks, or dessert before or after shows at DCPA.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and it started out really great. They brought out complimentary champagne to celebrate, the food was great, our server Shelby was great.
However when we ordered our dessert another server brought it to the wrong table with a birthday candle and all. Needless to say we had to wait quite a while to get our dessert.
After dinner our server apologized and comped the dessert... but when i got the bill i was charged for the champagne!
Probably wouldn’t recommend this place because Of those issues, but that’s just my experience.
Excellent food, service and ambience, as always. One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Excellent food and service.
As always, one of my favorites. I feel like I am in Paris when I am there.
We had a party of 7 for a family get together. We ordered most of the appetizers, then entrees, followed by dessert. Our server was extremely attentive and took the time to explain some of the more complicated choices and help with the French wines. Highly recommend!
Food was very good as always Only issue was the service was inattentive.
Love this place!! Always a good idea
This is always one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The food is excellent and the setting charming. I especially like sitting on the patio when the weather is warm. The restaurant is quite busy before the theater, so don't expect super attentive service. But, when less busy the service is very good.
This was delicious!!! We had a great dinner!! The special for the night was duck, which apparently was so delicious my other half ate it all before sharing a bite =)
The rabbit was also fantastic! One of the best meals I've had in ages!
It was a busy pre theater booking, but the service was great and they made sure we were out in time to see the show.
My friend and I love going to Bistro Vendome before going to the Buell. Always great food and service. Yesterday we have Brandi for our and she was top notch. The mussels were superb.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Charming atmosphere.
We went here for a classic french dish - Boeuf bourguignon and it was absolutely amazing! The beef was falling apart tender, the sauce incredibly rich and the carrots still were just that little bit crisp.
Every Thursday they do one of the classics and its the only place in the Denver area to experience many of them.
Server and restaurant did a great job with the crush of pre-theater diners. Our food was tasty and we look forward to coming back.
Entrees are very small. Escargot was good. For a restaurant with a pastry chef, choices were lackluster and unimaginative. We were disappointed.
Nicely prepared and classically presented dishes on this visit was overshadowed by lack of attention from service staff. There was minimal interaction and a general lack of attention. When pressed, staff had varying levels of knowledge of ingredients and preparation techniques. Knowing what is in a dish and how it’s prepared should be a minimum requirement for working at a place that claims to focus on food. Or maybe my experience was impacted by the fact that “Movie Night” in the main dining room was more interesting than serving customers who came for the food. Either way, I left feeling oddly unsatisfied.
Anniversary done right
We went for Restaurant Week and they made their entire menu available! Everything that we had was fantastic (escargot, steak tartare, chicken liver mousse to start; trout, scallops, venison and steak frites for mains; creme brulee and chocolate bouchons for dessert). The service was great, even though it was a busy night and we were "those people" who brought their baby with them. (In our defense, we thought it would be less busy on a Sunday night!)
We have been long time fans of this place but lately it’s gotten really pricey and the menu just keep getting smaller. Drinks were quite a bit too. Probably won’t be back.
Delicious brunch. Enjoyed everything. Can't wait to come again.
The food was delicious! There was quite a rush for the kitchen at the time of our reservation however our server compensated us for that quite nicely. Would definitely return here.
The food and service were great. We were a bit late because our show ran over, but I called and they held our table.
Went for restaurant week. The prices and offerings were basically the same as the regular menu...limited. Food was fair except for the trout which was excellent, but expensive. Mussels and escargot were warm..not hot...like they had been under heat lamp. Wine overpriced and poor selection by the glass.
Probably our weekend brunch group’s favorite brunch spot in the city. Always leaves everyone satisfied and happy. Perfect staff, delicious food, have never gone wrong.
Had a wonderful lunch before seeing Hamilton. Rob, our server, was fun, helpful and super attentive. We were celebrating our anniversary, and are glad we picked Bistro Vendome!
The food is incredible, my foodie wife thought the pepper steak was one of if not the best she's had. Service was prompt and very cordial. It is a moderately noisy place, less than a sports bar but more than a typical romantic restaurant. Great for birthdays. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time if timing is an issue.
The food was delicious and the choices for restaurant week were good. When we were first seated service was good since we were dining early and many tables were empty. Once more people were seated it was very difficult to get the attention of our waitress. I ordered my steak medium however it was quite rare. Since our waitress never returned to check on our meal until my friend was finished I decide to take my meal home and finish cooking it there. I have dined many times at this restaurant and this was the first time the service was poor.
We are long time fans of Bistro Vendome and once again, we had an excellent meal! Our server, Shelby was the best!
We were not nearly as happy this time as we have been in the past. The escargot was not good as well as the lobster bisque. The entrees were OK but not up to what we expect. Also, we did not like the glass of champagne in lieu of dessert. We love the restaurant and won’t give up on it but improvement is necessary. We would like to see them kick it up a notch and regain the reputation of being the number 1 French restaurant in Denver.
The food and ambiance here are always classy. We are very happy, loyal, repeat patrons 😁
Our waitress Rachel, was outstanding! Managed a busy theater crowd, yet took time to point out several items on the menu, explain Denver Restaurant Week, recommend an outstanding wine to go with scallops and then give us a card with wine's name. All went beautifully and we got to theatre in plenty of time.
Food was OK. Very odd that we received our food several minutes apart.
Absolutely wonderful, as always! We have enjoyed our time and the food each time we have eaten at Bistro VenDome! Superb!!
A unique dining experience with savory flavors and the feeling of France. We had the sole and the pommes frittes and they were both excellent. Adam, our waiter, was great. An overall wonderful dining experience.
The staff were great. Most of the food was really good with the exception of my husbands steak. It was super tough. Also they need to give more than a tablespoon of ice cream with their desserts
