Delicious meal as usual. Friendly staff. Very cozy and comfortable setting. Chocolate soufflé was wonderful!
It makes me sad to write this review. We've been going to Bistro Vendome for years and have always looked forward to the food. Up until this visit, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered. I don't know what the issue is, but the food was bad enough that I don't think we will be back. The french onion soup tasted like it was made from a bullion cube with very few onions dropped in there. The trout was a teeny portion for the price, and the leeks were inedible. The Kingfish arrived cold - as in the entire contents of the plate was ice cold. The menu indicates the Kingfish is grilled. Let me assure you it is barely seared - as in sashimi style. The Kingfish dish was sent back and was put under the broiler for a minute or so and the broccoli ended up charred. So very dissapointed.
Nice experience. What we expected.
Our service was great. The food was great too, I'd go again.
Amazing place and an even better vibe - highly recommend
Authentic French cuisine in a comfortable bistro setting. We spent a few hours here, enjoying the food and our conversation. The service was friendly and swift but not intrusive. Quality ingredients expertly prepared. We will definitely return.
Staff was over the top and the Australian King fish was awesome
Great food, great service, fabulous place!
Our meal at Bistro Vendome was delicious and enjoyable. We loved the mussels and escargot appetizers. The service was excellent - the staff uses a team approach that was very effective. Our waiter was able to offer a wine suggestion that was perfect.
Just another fantastic experience! Thank you!
We love French Bistro cuisine but were disappointed in this one. The French onion soup tasted like it had been made from buillon cubes with far too little onion the rest of the fare was good, not memorable. Our server, however was very good.
Strangest dish I have ever had was the striped bass served without accompaniment and quite difficult to eat. The fact that the fish was upright was interesting but without a possibility of eating without my hands as implements made it rather messy. There should have been a carb side dish of some sort, rice, potato or other, even a salad. The other 3 friends who joined us were satisfied with their meal. Price was rather high considering the above.
Food and service was excellent. Happy hour was reallly good. Drinks very good. Very nice atmosphere for bring a date. Authentic French romantic restaurant. Movie night and 5 course french food was excellent. I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend. And proposed to my girlfriend. The bartender and waitress very helpfull at setting up making a special night with the anniversary and proposal. I would recomend anyone to go to Bistro Vendome restaurant.
Great atmosphere for quite Sunday Brunch. Good food and pressed coffee. My wife wanted to go again next week!
Food was great, service was scattered. Got the wrong dish (which they added to the bill in addition to the dish we ordered) and they just simply didn’t bus the table appropriately. We had empty glasses and plates piling up on the corners of the table. I love this place and hope they dial in some of the rough edges. In the meantime, check your bill...
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The service last time was exceptional.
Loved the food and atmosphere. Personable bartender. This is a go to place for me each time I’m back in Denver.
Food was fantastic, service was even better!
I had a lovely dinner with my parents. They both ordered a fish for main course and had a relatively small, but reasonable portion
I ordered the gnocchi -which were delicious - but the portion was ridiculously small (as a small as small entree and absolutely inadequate for a main course).
My meal should have been 2.5x the size
I left the restaurant hungry and had to pay a 200+$ bill.
I had to order room service from my hotel as for all intents and purposes I had not had dinner
The server was wonderful and it would otherwise have been a lovely evening.... but it was mostly ruined
Fantastic French fare in cozy and quiet location. Service was superb. Will be back during next trip to Denver.
A wonderful bistro for a French Cafe experience. As with most traditional cafes, a somewhat limited menu, but all the items are excellent. The wines, appetizers, and desserts were all superb. Expect to spend $50-$70 per person for the full four course meal with a glass of wine each.
We had a delicious dinner and a terrific bottle of wine. We'd have lingered longer (and tried the desserts!) if we had not had had to head for the theater.
Awesome restaurant. Great service and food in a "french country" setting. I would definitely go back!
Waiter was wonderful
Amazing food and a real feel of France. The frites are a must!
Definitely a restaurant I will frequent when I visit Denver.
One of our favorite restaurants in all of Denver.
I arrived for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night, and was able to get a good table inside. Too cold for the patio. The room was not too crowded and hence was nice and quiet for a good conversation. We ordered steak frites and a trout entree. Both were excellent.
We sat waiting for service for 20 minutes until I got up to find someone. Food was horrible. Service was slow throughout the meal. Noticed that this was happening all around us. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs. Will never go back again!
Generally.. everything was great and certain items were fantastic. Only complaints are the service was so-so, they did a pretty poor job of picking things up that were done, or “cleaning” things throughout the meal. Additionally, they had a brussels sprouts special which we ordered and it came out with (literally) five of them... we had a table of 6 so two people had to cut one in half. Wish the waiter would have told us the plate was so small, or told the chef to put 6 on there... or they had a portion remotely similar to what most restaurants serve as a brussels sprouts app.
Food is always perfectly executed. Service is always attentive, and knowledgable. Bistro Vendome has it all right, everything. But the other restaurant-goers can diminish the experience. Is it too much to ask that cell phones be put away when at the dinner table? I prefer not to listen to one's cell phone videos while they share with their dining companions. A simple policy with polite enforcement could really up the level of class at this establishment and enhance the overall experience for those of us who have decided to immerse ourselves in the dining experience.
Great food! Something different in Denver. If you enjoy French food, this is a great option!
We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and always been pleased. This time was a disappointment. Food wasn't great - odd preparations and combinations of flavors. One fish dish was a little overdone. The drinks and the hors d'oeuvres were the only good parts of the meal. Server wasn't very informative, and slow to come back to table to take our order.
We ate outside on the patio on a Monday evening. Spectacular setting. Aaron, our waiter, was great, friendly and well educated on the menu. The only downer was the sugary frites, too much too sweet for this classic dish. Portions were large, almost too much in the first course. Love the place and atmosphere on the patio!
My wife had the Carrottes Roties followed by the Truite Poele and I ordered the Escargot and the Confit de Canard with a side of Pomme Frites. Delicious. The wine list allowed for a bottle of wine( actually two) that was within our budget. Split Pavlova for dessert. The service was excellent.
We had a wonderful time and loved our meal! Merci!
We were seated immediately upon arrival. It was a lovely evening so we sat outside. We had ballet tix and we’re able to get to the theater in plenty of time
A far cry from days of old. I’m not rushing back. The duck was too salty and the onion soup lacking in taste. Even the bread is not as good. OMG
Love the secret garden and fabulous food and service in the heart of lively Larimer Square!
We've been to Bistro Vendome multiple times and it is always delicious! The Crepe Vendome is always a hit, and the Cofit de Canard is marvelous!
